Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has expertise in developing influential media campaigns and shares our compassion and commitment to deliver positive outcomes for nature. You will be a highly organised, motivated, curious and creative individual who is comfortable working on integrated communications and PR campaigns and working with stakeholders from across the organisation to find the story.

You will have strong influencing and networking skills, always searching for new and inventive ways to shout about Plantlife and grow our audience. You will be detail orientated and adept at managing multiple projects at once.

What will you be doing?

This is a key role within our dedicated communications team and will focus on leveraging and shaping Plantlife’s activity and presence in the media, alongside a job share colleague. You will support the Head of Communications and Engagement with the leadership, planning and delivery of Plantlife’s media strategy to raise awareness, engage stakeholders and drive support for our cause.

This role will support our campaigning activity in the UK and internationally and will be one of Plantlife key external voices, playing a pivotal role in shaping our key messages. Working across the organisation and with colleagues leading our conservation, advocacy, and partnerships work you will keep abreast of key organisational activities and create opportunities for media and campaigning.

We are offering the role as hybrid or home based. We have offices in Salisbury or Retford. There will be an expectation of some travel to attend monthly team meetings

Our Third Party Events team are working to raise up to £2m+ across a range of activities in 2024, and we need brilliant people to help achieve our ambitious fundraising goals.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of third party challenge events to target, and for innovating, developing and delivering new fundraising activities.

About the role:

You will manage and lead our professional and enthusiastic events team to ensure every participant has an exciting, fun and ultimately great experience taking part in an event for East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) from sign up, through to on the day, and beyond.

You will lead on the creation, development and implementation of an events strategy for all mass participation and flagship events (sporting and non-sporting) for EAAA. You will consult with key colleagues from across the charity to set clear long-term and short-term objectives, with measures and KPIs based engagement and acquisition targets, providing regular reports to the Head of Community, Corporate and Events.

You will be responsible for the overall events team budget, setting, monitoring and reporting on income and expenditure for all events and the team. Taking proactive action to address any shortfalls in income, manage resources and capitalise on opportunities and work to minimise expenditure, to ensure you achieve budget.

You will lead the team’s activity in managing our existing flagship challenges and non-sporting mass participation events, securing opportunities for supporters to access a diverse events portfolio, offering an inclusive and bespoke range of events including places in some of the most sort after regional and national events including; the London Marathon and Norfolk Marathon.

You will lead on ensuring all participants experience an effective and active stewardship plan, ensuring all event participants maximise their fundraising potential and lifetime value for the Charity.

You will oversee and manage effective relationships with existing and new third-party event suppliers including monitoring the fundraising events environment for competitor analysis and building a useful network of supplier and sector contacts to assist with event delivery and develop and manage an effective tendering process for all third-party event suppliers.

You’ll work with the corporate fundraising team to manage new and existing corporate relationships to secure support for EAAA and sponsorship for events and ensure they are developed and built on for the future. You will ensure that they are representing the values of EAAA and we are supporting their objectives.

About you:

Through your exceptional planning and with the Charity’s reputation at the forefront of your decisions, you will ensure all our event participants always have an outstanding experience supporting EAAA.

You will have experience managing events income and expenditure budget, target setting and reporting. Experience of developing business cases for events and insight led event development, utilising data and market analysis skills.

You will be highly organised and have excellent communication skills. Equally comfortable in line management, negotiating with suppliers, managing a tendering process, negotiating contracts, and experience of being accountable for risk management and health and safety at events.

You will be able to drive and due to the nature of the events, you will need to have a flexible approach to work so you can support out of hours work, including weekends. Time off in lieu is offered for additional hours worked.

You will live within our region, have a great knowledge of the area and believe in the work of East Anglian Air Ambulance.

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. Location: Head Office, Milton Keynes
Salary: Circa £23,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time, 35 hours per week

I disseminate our messages and information to key audiences through clear and engaging social media posts that are tailored for different networks. I monitor the performance of our posts and I am proactive in incorporating best practice to ensure that our posts are well received by our audiences, and that our presence on our social media channels grows.

I regularly collaborate with colleagues across both charities, and the other founding charities of Mental Health UK, and key partners to create compelling and inspiring content.

Job Purpose & Background: 

CDP’s development team is ambitious, dynamic and at the heart of everything CDP does. As a Senior Manager, Philanthropy, you will focus on developing and managing strategic, high-value relationships with Trusts and Foundations. The Senior Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing a global fundraising strategy at a key time of organizational growth. Reporting directly to CDPs Head of Philanthropy, you are an independent thinker who can help grow and sustain grant funding from Trusts and Foundations.

You are the kind of person who gets out from behind your desk to meet people, influence and achieve long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. You’ll need to be determined, tenacious and focused on results.

Who you are

• Must reside and be eligible to work in the locations stipulated above.
• You have a proven ability to build and manage philanthropic donor income streams, maximising the value of existing and prospective supporters.
• You have a proven track record of relationship building to secure grants at seven figure and above level. 

• You have 5 or more years of fundraising experience, preferably with Foundations or High Net-Worth Individuals.
• You are able to understand diverse donor motivations and deliver a bespoke relationship to meet these and have demonstrable skill in adapting written and verbal communications for a philanthropy audience. 

• You have excellent face to face, interpersonal, negotiating and persuasive skills. 

• You are an effective communicator.
• You are confident working with senior stakeholders internally and externally, using tact and diplomacy. 

• You have extensive experience of bespoke proposal and report writing for a philanthropy audience. 

• You have excellent attention to detail, ability to analyse and prepare budgets. You are organised and methodical approach to plan and deliver against a varied workload, managing competing priorities under your own initiative and to strict deadlines.

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. 

You will build excellent external working relationships at all levels with donors, their staff and networks in order to directly influence their decisions.

You will build excellent internal working relationships to engage staff at all levels in supporting donor stewardship to manage prospective and existing donors effectively.
