Internal Communications Officer

Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2 days in the office, and 3 days remote.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint an Internal Communications Officer who will play a critical role in developing and shaping the organisation’s internal communications for the staff of the Connexional Team.

The post holder will work closely with Senior Managers to ensure that the Team’s values, mission and updates are effectively communicated to all Team members working across several sites and from home, to foster a cohesive and motivated work environment.

The successful applicant will strive to create an environment where communication

fosters a sense of community, aligned with the Church’s mission and values to create an engaged and informed Connexional Team.

In this crucial role, the Internal Communications Officer will be responsible for establishing and managing channels for staff feedback to leadership, producing engaging content for various channels, and organising and delivering internal events.

The successful applicant will also provide support and training for staff on communication tools and practices, encourage staff to be ambassadors of the Church, and plan and approve regular communications to be sent out to employees including staff newsletters and newsletters from Team members.

About You

The post holder will have at least three years’ experience of working with an internal communications context within an organisation and will have the ability to develop and implement comprehensive internal communications strategies that align with the organisation’s values.

You will be able to articulate messages clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, that are tailored to various internal audiences.  Exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills for a range of communication channels are a must for this role.

You will also have strong organisational skills with the ability to lead projects, work collaboratively and be proficient in digital communication tools and platforms.

The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and listening skills with experience in building relationships with key internal stakeholders.

You will also have the ability to develop a deep understanding of the Methodist Church’s mission, values, and objectives to ensure alignment in all communications.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join Claire House as we deliver an ambitious five-year strategy to reach more children and develop our second site in Liverpool. We need an experienced internal communications officer who can take complex ideas and make them sound simple and engaging.

This role will provide expert internal communications advice and support across the organisation, helping to communicate progress on key projects and improving employee engagement and organisational culture. You will also work with external stakeholders including families and healthcare professionals. The job will include drafting messaging, copy writing, developing engaging content and marketing materials and implementing communications project plans.

Previous experience in a similar organisation is desirable, but internal communications expertise, lots of energy and an ability to build relationships are essential. In return, this role will offer an opportunity to help the hospice transform the way it works, massively increase its impact and the vital support it offers to seriously and terminally ill babies, children, young adults and their families.

This role is full time 37.5 hours per week.

We are looking for a PR and media coordinator to help increase the reach and influence of Spinal Injuries Association within the UK. They will create engaging and dynamic content to reach new audiences and inspire existing ones to support campaigns and raise awareness of our work.

Role requirements include:

• Create and share stories/press releases that highlight our services and SIA’s wider strategic goals, with a focus on people with spinal cord injury, their lived experiences and how we support them.
• Create a media forward planner for all key activities and opportunities– internal and external.
• Lead on case studies from our members and supporters and encourage others to share their stories, ensuring this content can be accessed via the CRM in line with GDPR rules.
• Support the PR and media manager in building relationships with journalists and influencers so that we become the go to place for comment on all issues that affect people with spinal cord injury.
• Identify proactive or reactive media opportunities where SIA could add comment to enhance our campaigning aims or tell the story of those we support.

Introduction to the role

As a Bid writer your role will be to help develop and sustain new and exciting projects that promote community wellbeing and tackle inequality. Working as part of the funding team you will be responsible for identifying and researching new opportunities, building strategic partnerships and writing strong funding applications

Main duties

1. Work with colleagues to scope new funding opportunities by scanning and cataloguing opportunity portals in line with our strategic aims and objectives
2. Identify suitable opportunities for bidding,
3. Produce high quality funding bids including writing and editing copy, collating case studies and other response material as appropriate
4. Ensure that deadlines are met and that submissions are managed in a timely way
5. Work as part of the funding team to regularly review and continuously improve processes around fundraising in the organisation
6. Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external)
7. Keep abreast of new and emergent thinking across wellbeing, community development and tackling inequalities
8. Support our staff and communities to develop skills in fundraising

We are seeking a Head of Brand and Marketing to join our Engagement Team at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. This role is pivotal in building the Association's brand and developing a marketing strategy that amplifies our impact for those living with and affected by MND.

You will be a powerful advocate of the strategic importance of a strong, aligned, and consistent brand. You will be responsible for the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns that maximise the Association's ability to raise income, provide services and win support for campaigns to make life better for people living with and affected by MND. Collaboration is key - you'll work closely with internal stakeholders, including our Head of Communications, to enhance our visibility through targeted campaigns and public awareness-raising activities.
