The Role

At United Learning we know that, to deliver the best for the children and young people we serve, we need to invest in the adults around them. No school can be better than the staff at its heart.

The purpose of the Professional Development Team is to ensure that staff throughout United Learning, in every role and at every career stage, have an excellent induction experience as well as continuing development opportunities to allow them to excel in their role and progress in their career. Professional development at United Learning supports all staff to deliver an exceptional education as set out in the principles of our Framework for Excellence.

In the role of Business Administrator, you will support two branches of the Professional Development function: the Projects Team and the Apprenticeship Provider. You will play a critical role in ensuring the effective coordination and administration of Group-wide professional development. The ability to adapt and manage competing priorities is therefore essential.

The successful candidate will:

· Manage cohort recruitment and application processing for various programmes.

· Record programme participant and apprentice data with high levels of accuracy.

· Manage the apprenticeship e-Portfolio system.

· Coordinate programme and conference events, including sourcing and booking venues, arranging catering, and communicating arrangements to participants.

· Track participant attendance and monitor programme.

· Track apprentices’ destinations and report on their progress and outcomes.

· Coordinate internal communications by collaborating with colleagues on content.

· Edit video content to share with programme participants.

· Act as a central point of contact for general enquiries from programme participants, apprentices, and school leaders.

· Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.

· Process invoices, schedule meetings, prepare meeting papers and take meeting minutes.

· Provide diary management and travel coordination support to the Director of Professional Development.

Although advertised as a full-time position, we are committed to supporting flexible working and are willing to discuss options with suitable candidates.

United Learning values diversity and inclusion and is committed to creating and sustaining a more diverse workforce. We welcome applications from professionals of minority ethnic origin who share our commitment to inclusion and diversity.

About You

You have a positive and curious attitude and want to make a difference and improve the lives of staff and young people. You enjoy working collaboratively and place a high value on good stakeholder relationships, especially with school leaders. You must show a willingness to learn and a desire to develop in the role and make it your own.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate wanting to work in the education sector, or an experienced administrator.

Essential:

· Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise, work at pace and meet deadlines.

· Team player with strong communication and collaboration.

· Well-developed interpersonal skills.

· High-level attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

· Ability to problem solve and adapt to change.

· Ability to operate with autonomy.

· Thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Desirable:

· Experience of writing for varied audiences.

· Experience of building rapport with a range of stakeholders.

· Video editing skills.

· Data protection awareness.
