Dyscover is a small, specialist charity providing long term support and opportunities to adults with aphasia, a complex language disability. We are looking for an experienced Business Manager with a strong Fundraising and Marketing background to join our team.

· Experience raising income from a range of income streams particularly Trusts and Foundations also including skills in managing events, individual donors, legacy, corporate and community fundraising.

· Finance and Project management experience.

· Strategic development skills.

· Health, wellbeing, and disability experience within the sector would be ideal.

· Marketing experience; organisational promotion, digital, social media, website and branding. Health service marketing would be an advantage.

· Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with good disability awareness. 

Location: Office based in Leatherhead KT22 0BN with free car parking.

Salary: £35k (pro-rated) 

This is an essential management role within an expanding, unique and innovative organisation which strives towards being a centre of excellence for people with aphasia.

A highly productive, energetic and extremely well organised individual is required to take responsibility for managing the business side of the charity.

About the Role: This is an interesting and varied role. As the post holder you'll be not only be setting up, administering and delivering schemes and activities to benefit Barnet’s looked after young people, you'll also be creating marketing materials and supporting fundraising events.  Promoting the work of our charity is key too through updating our website, writing our quarterly newsletter and social media channels, as well as supporting the running and administration of the charity. 

About You:

You'll have experience of managing and delivering projects, schemes or activities and supporting administrative tasks including keeping accurate records, financial tracking and expenditure.
 
You'll also have experience of creating engaging content for newsletters, websites and/or social media channels especially Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver common goals.

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.

As Senior Media and Communications Officer within NPE you will support a range of the policy and influencing work of National Park Authorities for a range of campaigns and projects including our work on Generation Green and the Protected Landscapes Partnership.

As well as high quality media relations, the post will support delivery of public relations activities, and support wider public affairs and stakeholder relations.

ALLFIE’s vision is to create an inclusive society by ensuring inclusive education within mainstream settings for ALL Disabled people. We campaign for ‘a world where inclusive education is a right, not a struggle,’ and for Disabled pupils and students to be fully included in mainstream education, training, and apprenticeships, with all necessary support. We also create the resources that people and organisations need to advocate/campaign for inclusive education, training, and apprenticeships and to develop good inclusive practice. 

Job purpose: The Social Media Co–Lead will ensure the smooth delivery of ALLFIE’s online and social media content, to increase understanding of, and engagement with, our inclusive education campaign work. This is a production role which will focus on growth and consistency across ALLFIE’s online and social media platforms, ensuring accessibility in text, visual and audio content.

Transition Together is seeking to continue the work of deepening connection and growing the voice of the Transition Movement in England and Wales through the freelance engagement of three Network Weavers. This exciting project will see this team, supported by Transition Together staff, co-design an in person Transition Assembly early next year to guide the future of our Movement in the UK as well as build relationships with Transitioners across Wales and England and connect to emerging and established networks across the UK. These roles will be around two days a week for 10 months and the deadline to apply is 13 May.

• This is a remote working position including substantial travel to visit Transition groups and events

Key tasks

• To establish and maintain a communications strategy and plan for Chambers, utilising the latest in digital communication methods.
• To manage the promotional activities of Chambers, its Practice Teams, and individual members, by managing and developing:
  • Its website and social media,
  • Webinars, podcasts and other digital training methods, 
  • In-person training and promotional events.
• To assist the HoPM by promoting Chambers to professional clients.
• To manage the promotion of Chambers via the media.
• To manage and promote engagement with legal associations, charities and NGOs to further the ethos and business of Chambers.
• To promote Chambers and its members to relevant legal directories.
• To assist with the development and promotion of campaigns organised or joined by Chambers.
• To undertake internal communication work building a culture of engagement across Chambers.

The above tasks will include:

• Identifying newsworthy cases and issues upon which Chambers may wish to engage, including through liaising closely with members of Chambers and the Practice Management Team (PMgT) to identify notable cases and issues upon which we may wish to engage.
• Working under the direction of the HoPM to assist in the practice development of individual members.
• Engaging barrister members and pupils to produce high quality training and promotional material for the website and social media, including content production such as webinars, podcasts and vlogs.

  • Accessible, attractive, interesting and as useful as possible to our professional and lay clients,
  • Optimised to achieve top search engine ranking,
  • Up to date, with members’ pages regularly reviewed, and news items frequently added,

• Ensuring a variety of social media platforms are utilised to optimise the footprint of Chambers, and to promote news about Chambers’ cases and other activities as quickly, professionally and as widely as possible.
• Identifying potential new clients to the PMgT and assisting them in the promotion of Chambers.
• Maintaining and developing professional client contact lists, mailing lists and databases, in conjunction with the Practice Teams and PMgT.
• Coordinating, advertising and managing training and promotional events in conjunction with Practice Teams and the PMgT.  This to include maximising outcomes from events.
• Liaising with outside bodies, including legal associations, charities and NGOs to promote the engagement of members of Chambers and the standing of Chambers as a whole.

Person Specification

The individual will have:

• A clear understanding and commitment to the ethos of Chambers.
• Experience of developing and maintaining an organisational communications strategy.
• A strong technical understanding of website and social media platform management and content production.
• Experience of the use of a range of digital communications for promotion and development.
• The ability to draft clear, engaging copy and undertake editing, under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work both in a team and on own initiative.
• The ability to think creatively and demonstrate a very high level of attention to detail.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise.

The successful applicant will be confident and articulate, and may have relevant experience in the NGO, international organisation, development or charity sector.  A general understanding of the way the legal profession is organised and works will be helpful but not essential.

About the role

Working as a member of the Employment Team you will engage on a 1:1 basis with our employment programme participants, establishing and maintaining excellent relationships to understand and meet their individual needs.  You will develop personal action plans which enable movement of these people towards and into further sustainable employment. You will work in a friendly, busy employment team environment to ensure programme performance targets are consistently achieved to meet requirements of the allocated contract.

We want someone like you with the confidence to positively engage and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds. In your role you will work closely with the local community and employers, supporting referrals onto the programme and identifying employment opportunities. You will enable participants to develop valuable work based skills and gain knowledge. Your role will require you to be supportive and understanding, be able to deal with any issues that may arise confidently. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to adapt them pending on what you are dealing with, communicating at different levels as key in this role.

We are seeking a talented Business Engagement Officer to deliver Workwhile’s support offer to small- and medium-sized businesses. You’ll be comfortable delivering high-quality advice and guidance to businesses across a range of sectors, and excited about building this support service as Workwhile develops. Whilst this will currently focus primarily on supporting business to create apprenticeships, you’ll also work on issues across the ‘good work’ agenda. You’ll be determined to deliver results, whilst being flexible and empathetic to the challenges facing small SMEs. Alongside this, you’ll ensure we’re collecting the data we need from SMEs and other partners, to monitor our impact and report to our funders.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need outstanding relationship-building skills and a clear and persuasive communication style, bringing an ambitious and entrepreneurial approach to our work. You’ll be comfortable working at pace and navigating uncertainty as we build Workwhile’s future. And of course, you’ll be driven by our mission to create a more equitable world of work.
