An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Digital and Video content producer to join Tearfund's Communication for Development team, across the Visual & Audio and Digital subteams.

As a digital producer, you will be part of an agile team working on Tearfund Learn channels to deliver optimised content to audiences worldwide. You will help to build a global community who are learning together, online and offline, to equip themselves with knowledge and skills to face the challenges of poverty and injustice in our world. 

As a video editor, you will help our global teams to create inspiring and engaging video content for international audiences and support organisational video strategy and manage video supplier relationships. 

We are looking for someone creative and solution-focused with previous experience in both the digital space and as a video producer.

You will have:

• Excellent organisational skills 
• Consistent attention to detail when dealing with high volumes of content.
• Experience using Content Management Systems and editing visual and audio content, specifically working with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

The Senior Fundraising Officer will play a key role in the Fundraising Team helping to generate significant and increased income from charitable trusts and foundations and corporate partners.

The role will be responsible for ensuring a regular pipeline of new and existing income from both areas and ensuring partners are stewarded appropriately to maximise engagement with the charity’s aims and objectives.

The post holder will:

• Identify, research and develop new trusts and foundations leads.
• Proactively oversee and grow relationships with trusts and foundations that give four and five figure grants, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships utilising meetings, project visits, informal updates and monitoring and reporting as appropriate.
• Produce formal reports to funders regularly as directed by grant giving bodies.

Using strong creative, communication and interpersonal skills, the Media and Campaigns Officer will play a crucial role in the delivery of our media strategy. They will work closely with the Senior Media and Campaigns Officer and wider Communications and Campaigns teams to ensure the press office runs smoothly and in concert with the organisation’s wider strategy.

This role includes delivering media objectives; managing, supporting and recruiting personal stories and patrons; monitoring and disseminating relevant media coverage; identifying reactive media opportunities; proactively securing media coverage; producing and distributing engaging press materials; and maintaining relationships with key journalists.

The role will also work across the campaign’s sister charity, Compassion in Dying. Both organisations share an aim of improving dying in the UK by putting people in charge of decisions about the end of their life. The charity’s profile and influence has grown hugely in recent years, with its wealth of expertise and thought leadership recognised across the end-of-life and wider healthcare sector.  

Working closely with colleagues in the Information Line and Policy & Research teams, key responsibilities will include securing opportunities within the media to amplify the voices of dying people and those close to them; supporting those individuals to share their experiences; keeping abreast of relevant coverage within mainstream media and healthcare trade press; using the media to raise awareness of the importance of and ways to plan ahead for the end of life; and seeking media opportunities to share our research and insight, shift attitudes and push for the changes needed so that everyone can have a good death, whatever that means to them.

The Bike Project (TBP) is looking for a Marketing Executive to join the Fundraising & Marketing Team.  This role will focus on delivering marketing activity to help drive fundraising donations, increase income through retail sales, and boost engagement with our audiences. 

This is a key growth area for TBP, and the post holder will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing across a range of channels, including social media, email, search, and advertising. We are always exploring new avenues for obtaining fundraising income, and this role will work closely with the Marketing Manager to execute marketing campaigns that achieve this goal. The Bike Project has an entrepreneurial culture stemming from our online and physical bike shop, which raises considerable income annually. This post will contribute to encouraging sales through targeted marketing activities. At a key development time in the Marketing function of our organization, it’s an exciting period where we are exploring new opportunities for driving fundraising, income, and engagement. The Head of Communications & Media will help nature recover by effectively telling our stories to everyone in our three counties. You’ll use your way with words and your eye for a good image to lead on our local media, social media, online and video communications and publications. You’ll grow our audience and inspire even more people to take action for nature.

You’ll lead a fantastic and hard-working Communications Team and be part of the Trust’s wider leadership group, and you’ll use your creative flair and people-focused approach to get everyone involved in delivering the communications strategy.

What you’ll do

• Enhance the reputation of the Trust through effective communications and media
• Collaboratively lead on developing high profile advocacy and lobbying campaigns alongside the Policy & Public Affairs team
• Devise, oversee, maintain, and deliver BBOWT’s communications and engagement strategy across all platforms

• Demonstrable experience in communications and marketing, including media, digital communications, brand and social media
• Results-focused, adaptable, and able to manage multiple demands on the team’s time
• Significant experience of effective communications in a fundraising environment
• Experience of leading complex communications projects
• Ability to quickly build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

We are looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead our team of dedicated professionals in an ambitious strategy to grow and develop our services across the UK.  Ideally the successful candidate will have some first-hand experience of neurodivergent children, combined with a knowledge of the education systems in place across the UK.  Experience of fundraising within a membership organisation and a track record in the effective use of technology will also be very useful.  This role will be supported by engaged Trustees, within an active community of families and schools, who recognise that the ability to empathise with young people with high learning potential and their families is at the heart of this role.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Reporting to: Board of Trustees

Salary:  £55,000 fulltime starting salary in a salary band rising to £70,000

As this role supervises staff who regularly work with children, it requires a criminal records check.

Main objectives of the role are to:

• help formulate and execute the agreed strategic objectives of the charity
• provide effective operational management of the charity
• maintain the financial viability and probity of the charity
• ensure high quality delivery of the charity’s services and products
• represent Potential Plus UK to key stakeholders
• attend meetings of the Board of Trustees and provide both written and oral reports.

Main responsibilities for all employees

1. To keep up to date with statutory and best practice in safeguarding and child protection procedures, ensuring that all members of the charity’s community are aware of these, understand their roles and are confident to take action as needed.
2. To liaise effectively with colleagues, parents, schools, colleges and young people to secure excellent outcomes and well-being for young people with high learning potential. 
3. To support and implement the strategic aims and all aspects of policies and procedures.
4. To develop best practice in the provision for all high potential learners, including the disadvantaged and disengaged, those with dual or multiple exceptionalities, and English as an additional language, and children from minority groups. 
5. To model high standards of professional behaviours and attitudes at all times. 
6. To identify the professional learning needed to achieve excellent outcomes, and to monitor the impact to ensure you excel in the role.

Main responsibilities for the CEO

Strategy

• To collect and maintain information and evidence that contributes to the strategic planning of the charity.
• To work with the Board of Trustees (and other staff members and advisers as appropriate) to develop the strategic objectives and the strategic plan for the charity.
• To implement and periodically review the business plan and ensure all operational activities support the strategic objectives.

Management and Administration

• To motivate and develop the team of professional staff.
• To provide a structure of line management and support for all staff.
• To recruit and terminate staff in line with the charity’s policies and values.
• To oversee the work of contracted companies and individuals with the support of the Deputy CEO.
• To provide and promote structures for volunteers to support high learning potential.

Financial Management

• To manage the charity’s financial resources effectively, in line with the agreed annual budget.
• To maintain the charity’s compliance with financial bodies such as HMRC.
• To implement a robust income-generation strategy as agreed with the Board of Trustees
• To oversee the fundraising activities being implemented for the charity.
• To actively promote and ensure financial support for disadvantaged families to enable access to the charity’s services.

Quality of Services and Products

• To implement and oversee the development of high-quality services and products that are appropriate for the charity’s beneficiaries.
• To promote best practice and consistency of high quality in the delivery of all services and products.
• To ensure the charity keeps up-to-date with developments in education and wellbeing policy and practice and applies them to its own understanding and work.

Marketing and Advocacy

• To implement a coordinated marketing and social media strategy to increase awareness of high learning potential and the educational and wellbeing needs of the charity’s beneficiaries.
• To develop and promote understanding of high learning potential with a strong evidence base.
• To work collaboratively with other stakeholders to advocate for the rights and needs of young people with high learning potential.
• To be the prime contact with the media and be an advocate for the charity.

Governance

• To be accountable for the efficient, operational running of the charity.
• To ensure the charity’s compliance with legal requirements such as Companies House returns, GDPR, etc.
• To understand and adhere to the charity’s governance documents.
• To provide written and oral reports to the Board of Trustees at regular meetings.
• To respond to requests for information by the Board of Trustees in a timely fashion
• To support Trustees to maintain and regularly review the policies of the charity and to create and implement the accompanying operational procedures.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the charity through qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators.
• To be responsible for the appraisal of staff performance and identification of any needs for professional learning and development.

Safeguarding

• To act as Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity.
• To coordinate with the Trustee with Responsibility for Safeguarding and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads as appropriate to ensure best practice in safeguarding throughout the organisation.
• To regularly interact with children and young people in support of the charity's strategic objectives

Any Other Duties

• To lead by example and be part of a dedicated team to implement the strategic objectives of the charity.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as identified as part of the job.
