About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales. 

Central to this is the evaluation team.  The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects. 

Key responsibilities 

The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence. 

Evaluation 

Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will: 

• Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee. 

• Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds. 

• Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation. 

• Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations. 

• Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose. 

• Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance. 

Team management 

The post holder will likely lead the recruitment, management and development of a team of Evaluation Officers and will: 

• Ensure they have the knowledge, skills and support to carry out their work effectively. 

• Provide regular feedback and coaching on written outputs. 

• Supervise and project manage the team’s evaluation work, providing quality assurance and monitoring of progress against project plans and project budgets. 

Collaborative working 

The post holder will contribute to the wider YEF team and will: 

• Be accountable to YEF’s Fund Leadership Team for the delivery of evaluations, making sure they are on time and on budget, including reporting on risks and issues. 

• Work closely with colleagues across YEF and specifically the Programme team. 

• Ensure high-quality evidence is at the heart of all YEF activity and that the evidence we produce is communicated in a clear and accessible way which will drive sustainable change. 

• Support the management of YEF’s panel of evaluators and expert panel. 

General 

The post holder may be involved in other elements of YEF's projects, working with senior colleagues to commission, scope and deliver projects. 

About you 

You are this sort of person:

• You are an excellent communicator. You can produce technical documents that accurately report methodological and statistical information. You will combine this with experience of communicating complex evidence and analysis in a simple and accessible format to non- experts. 

• You have a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in social science, social policy, public health, health services or other fields, with a significant quantitative component, or relevant experience equivalent to a Masters qualification. 

• You have strong knowledge, experience and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies including the ability to critically appraise the design of a variety of different evaluation designs. 

• You have quantitative analysis skills including experience of using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS. 

• You have significant experience in carrying out or commissioning research including designing all aspects of the research and managing external contractors.  This may be in academia, government or a related sector. 

• You have strong relationship management skills. You are comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners, and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenge when required.

• You bring the best out of your colleagues.  You have experience in leading teams and managing others to achieve amazing results. You can both take and give direction. You are collaborative and a team player, able to build strong relationships across the whole organisation. You are happy to help out when and where it’s needed.

You may have, but they are not essential: 

• A good level of knowledge and understanding of crime or serious violence. You know the facts, understand the issues, know the key people, and can discuss the theories. You’re knowledgeable on this topic and very at ease discussing it with experts. Alternatively, you might have a strong understanding of a relevant area such as education, youth work or social care.

Hybrid working details  

The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month.

For over 35 years Ethical Consumer (ECRA) has been the hub of the ethical consumer movement, helping consumers to shop ethically, campaigners to challenge corporate power and businesses to improve their supply chains. Board members meet quarterly to assess and advise on the progress that ECRA is making. Meetings normally last two hours. We also hold an annual strategy session to address issues chosen by the board. The post-holder will oversee the management of Sightsavers Finance and Administration in the Cameroon Country Office. Reporting to the Country Director they are responsible for monitoring the country resource management and identifying risks or issues.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:

• Excellent financial management and risk mitigation through compliance with local regulations and adherence to the organisational Financial Framework
• Implementing financial management and controls; financial planning and budgeting; financial monitoring and audits
• Monitoring and retaining accurate financial records
• Leading support services for the country office through management of logistics and procurement of supplies
• Delivering/overseeing administrative functions, payroll; ensuring IT equipment functions effectively. All in line with organisational policies and procedures

Essential skills and experience:

• Relevant professional accounting qualification or tertiary degree in Finance and Accounting (for example CPA/ ACCA/ MBA)
• Extensive workpro experience ideally gained within international development in a similar role. Experience of audit and government organisations also advantageous
• Proven work experience in financial management, programme/ project management and administration
• Strong project financial management, budget and data analysis
• Strong experience in grant management (for example EC, FCDO, Irish Aid or USAID)
• Excellent communication and organisation
• Fluent or strong written and spoken English
• Available to travel as and when required within Cameroon

The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

Working cross-functionally within a matrix-style organisation, the Lead will work collaboratively on the engagement pillar of WorldGBC's fundraising team alongside the Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Partnerships Lead. This team coordinates closely with all WorldGBC departments, in particular where sponsors are involved with initial focus on the programme/project partners.

Well-organised and a great communicator, this individual will ensure that key relationships are managed effectively across the organisation, and be detail oriented in their reporting and accounting of opportunities. The Lead should also be willing to represent the organisation in relevant external opportunities relating to the programmes as need arises - including fundraising meetings, external working groups, events or conferences.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Account Management: Be primary point of contact for new and existing programmatic sponsors and partners, overseeing engagement with the network and accounting with detailed reporting to ensure up-to-date partnership records. Work alongside the programmatic team leads to deliver all agreed benefits to partners, ensuring a uniform balance of benefits and opportunities across sponsors engaging in all areas of the organisation.

2. Fundraising and Budget Management: Work alongside the programme leads to secure funding and manage relevant programme/project budgets (with guidance from the Director of Programmes Strategy), including supporting grant application and reporting responsibilities where necessary.

3. Stakeholder Engagement (members and partners): Engage with stakeholders to ensure that our programmes/projects align with their goals and needs, working with the Director of Programmes Strategy and wider programme team to explore best practice engagement tactics throughout 2024.

4. Subject Matter Expertise: Stay current with the latest trends in sustainable buildings and WorldGBC programme outputs, ensuring the Lead can communicate knowledgeably about WorldGBC strategy and work areas as required.

5. Communications: Support communication for WorldGBC on topics related to sustainable buildings in relevant programmatic areas, representing the team at internal or external events or industry working groups and collaborating with Marketing & Communications on accurate messaging for publications and campaigns.

6. Supporting Programmes team: Be a committed member of the WorldGBC team and offer support, training and expertise to wider members of the team. Participate and engage in wider WorldGBC campaigns, events and deliverables, such as COP, World Green Building Week and Leadership Summit.

Skills, Experience & Education:

The role, 30th Birthday Public Affairs lead will play a key role in managing external relationships with key parliamentarians, and representative bodies. You will bring a network of key contacts to promote and support the importance of the National Lottery to people and communities throughout the UK. You will also play a key role in presenting the National Lottery in an effective and impactful way and manage the delivery of the National Lottery 30th Birthday government relations strategy.

This role is a six month fixed term contract, working full time, 37 hours a week, based in London alongside the wider NLPU Team.  It is critical that the person is committed to delivering change and has the dedication to the project, ensuring challenges and tasks are taken through to completion.

You will have the support of your Director, NLPU team and colleagues from across the whole National Lottery family. With a UK-wide remit you will need to be proactive in engaging with multiple teams/senior stakeholders across the twelve National Lottery distributors, the operator, the DCMS and the Gambling Commission.

NASP operates through a hybrid model of working, with most work taking place remotely using Microsoft Teams for meetings and planning. We have an office space at London’s Southbank Centre which staff can use to work. Travel to this (and other sites) will be required from time to time for meetings, site visits, events, and away days.

Role Details & Staff Benefits

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)

Hours: Full time

Location: Hybrid – NASP have a permanent office space at London’s Southbank Centre, this role will be expected to work up to 2 days per week here, with the remainder worked remotely at home. There may also be additional travel required for staff days and other events.

Purpose of This Role:

This is a pivotal role to support NASP’s strategic aims to promote and spread social prescribing at a local, national, and international level.

The purpose of this role is to provide operational support and act as point of contact for the organisation’s Finance and People functions, as well as providing Programme support across the organisation, ensuring smooth running and continual improvement of NASP’s processes.

The role sits in the Operations team and will work closely with the Director of Operations, wider Operations colleagues, and external Finance, Legal and IT providers, as well as providing support across the organisation. This will include supporting on NASP’s Innovation programme.

Person Specification:

Knowledge of finance processes, including bookkeeping, year end, invoice & purchase order administration; and preferably experience of accountancy processes for charities

• Experience with accountancy software and systems (e.g. Xero, ApprovalMax, Soldo)
• Experience of developing, interpreting, and managing budgets, forecasts, I&E statements, cashflows, etc.
• Knowledge of HR processes and policies, including supporting staff as point of contact for enquiries
• Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain high levels of confidentiality & discretion
• Experience of project management/support
• Experience of detailed administrative & business support
• Interest in and/or experience of developing Wellbeing and EDIB policies and processes, to develop internal working culture
• Demonstrable ability to work in a complex organisation that works remotely, and draw people and teams together for projects successfully
• Highly organised, diligent, thorough and reliable
• Excellent IT skills and proficient at all relevant systems e.g. Microsoft
• Highly proactive, responsive and able to work on own initiative to deliver appropriate support
• High level of literacy and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

Finance

• Act as first point of contact for Finance enquiries, both internally and externally
• Manage the Finance mailbox, ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently
• Co-ordinate day-to-day financial operations, including processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, reconciliations, etc.
• Overseeing virtual card system (Soldo) for NASP employees
• Supporting CEO, Director of Operations (DoO) and Director of Finance (DoF) on budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and year end process as required
• Working with external Finance provider (Carpenter Box) to support processes
• Attending regular finance catchups, supporting these meetings and providing feedback on issues & processes
• Provide support to colleagues on NASP’s financial systems (ApprovalMax, Xero, Soldo, etc.), including developing and running training sessions as required
• Ensuring online and paper filing of NASP finance documentation is accurate, organised, and kept up to date

People, HR & Recruitment

• Act as first point of contact for staff HR enquiries, e.g. policy, annual leave, absences
• Work with DoO and CEO on HR matters where needed (supporting meetings, liaising with staff)
• Support line managers on annual appraisal and probationary review process
• Support on recruitment, including developing job documentation, posting job adverts, liaising with candidates and managing enquiries, scheduling and supporting interviews
• Work closely with the Executive Assistant for onboarding and induction of new starters, including arranging for IT equipment to be shipped
• Proactively identify ways to improve and streamline People & Culture processes
• Drafting and issuing contracts for freelancers, using NASP standard templates
• Support on People-related working groups, e.g. EDIB and Wellbeing

Programme Support

• Provide administrative support for colleagues on specific projects/programmes as required, including NASP’s Innovation programme (e.g. sending network updates, developing case studies for Innovation Hub, uploading data to NASP’s CRM system)
• Manage and minute meetings, including sending agendas, noting actions, and diary management
• Providing input and support on related areas of expertise (Finance, HR, Operations) to colleagues across the organisation, e.g. developing budgets or advising on organizational policies
• Monitoring and evaluation of programmes, to improve effectiveness (including financial evaluation)

Other Responsibilities

• Work with Operations team on improving and developing processes across the organisation, e.g. Wellbeing, EDIB, staff days, events
• Deputise for Operations team colleagues as needed to cover annual leave (e.g. supporting on meetings or managing correspondence)
• Work with external IT provider (Logicata) to support staff with helpdesk enquiries, and delivery/return of equipment as needed

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role leads on the delivery of Bond’s corporate and CEO level events. This role is managed by the Head of Communications but also works with the corporate and marketing team, the Director of Membership and Communications and CEO. 

The primary focus of this role is to manage and deliver high-quality events for Bond’s corporate partners to help them reach their target audiences, and to deliver high level events for CEOs and senior leaders across our network to help provide senior leaders with the support and skills needed to provide effective and supportive leadership. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Corporate events:

• Manage and deliver a range of events to fulfil contractual commitments with corporate partners.
• Ensure the successful execution of events, including hybrid and face-to-face components, across various locations including potential European venues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality events that meet partner expectations and contribute to revenue generation.

2) CEO engagement events:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive program of events targeting CEOs and senior leaders within our network.
• Coordinate logistics, including speaker liaison, venue sourcing, and event planning for CEO events throughout the year.
• Work closely with senior management to align events with organisational goals and strategies outlined in Bond’s membership strategy.

3) Special projects:

• Coordinate special one-off projects and events as required by members or donors, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

4) General

• Ensure the successful delivery of Bond corporate and CEO events both online and in person, where appropriate.
• Ensure events logistics, including working with any contractors and with any external booking systems are successfully delivered.
• Develop and maintain the Bond corporate and CEO events schedule and ensure that project timelines are adhered to.
• Liaise with speakers and ensure that speakers are successfully briefed
• Support all digital content of uploading and editing sessions and speakers on the Bond website.
• Liaise and work with external event platforms for any major events.
• Scope and research venues and platforms and tools for in-person, online and hybrid events.
• Assist in-person and hybrid event providing support as and when required.
• Working with the Marketing and Membership Manager and Business Development Adviser, ensure that all events communications are delivered in a timely manner and that delegate queries are answered.
• Ensure the successful delivery, when required, of any post-event communications, including blogs and video, and ensure that each event is evaluated.
• Working with the corporate partnerships team, advise and support on the successful delivery of webinars.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with event delivery, including changes in corporate needs or unexpected challenges.
• Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and explore opportunities to optimise event-related expenditures.
• Maintain a portfolio of venues (both free and paid-for) that Bond can use when an in-person event is required. 
• Ensure that all events meet insurance, legal, and health and safety obligations. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The ideal candidate would:
• Have at least 2 years experience of events organisation and management in a similar or comparable setting

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with sponsors, event partners and participants.

• Be able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and manage relationships with Bond’s network of members. 

• Have a good understanding of how events can generate income 

• Be entrepreneurial and flexible, with the ability to identify potential opportunities and partners.

• Be highly organised – able to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales and to manage both strategic and reactive projects effectively. 

• Have a high degree of IT competence.

• Have an understanding of and commitment to the values and objectives of Bond
