About the role
Are you a strategic communications professional who can lead a team and shape an organisation’s external profile?
We are looking for a Communications Manager to lead and develop Equation’s communications function. This is a strategic role focused on building our brand and external profile, managing a talented team, and ensuring all parts of the organisation have the communications support they need.
You will line manage a team of four, including two Coordinators, a Project Worker and a Freelance Resource Worker. Your role is to provide strategic direction, set targets and quality assure outputs – not to do the day-to-day delivery yourself. You will develop and implement our communications strategy, support other workstreams with their communications needs, and work with colleagues including our new Corporate Partnerships Manager to ensure consistent, high-quality messaging.
This role also has an important sector leadership element. You will chair the DSVA Communications Group, working with communications colleagues from partner organisations across Nottinghamshire to coordinate joint campaigns and messaging.
You do not need to have worked in the domestic abuse sector before, but you do need to be an experienced communications professional who can think strategically, manage people well and maintain high standards across everything we put out.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience of managing a team
- Has developed and implemented communications strategies
- Has managed brand and external profile for an organisation
- Understands digital communications including social media, websites and email marketing
- Can set targets, prioritise and quality assure work
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Is committed to ending domestic abuse
Experience of working across the charity sector, partnership communications, or the DSVA sector is desirable but not essential.

- £31,484.01 pa FTE. Actual salary for part time hours £25,527.58

Senior Community Action Worker
Salary: £30k per annum
35 hours per week (flexible)

Birmingham Settlement is recruiting a Senior Community Action Worker to help us grow and offer more to the communities and people we serve. Mainly based at our Sports & Community Centre (SCC), the role will help to develop, lead and manage activities that support individual and community leadership, voice and engagement in line with individual, community, and funder needs.
The role will focus on the overall management and development of the Settlement’s Sports & Community Centre to encourage active living, offering a diverse range of opportunities and learning activities to encourage physical health and wellbeing including partnerships and greater use of site facilities – the sports pitch, the gym, halls and large outside space as detailed in the job description.
An open mind, adaptability and a willingness to work flexibly along with excellent customer care skills are standard requirements that we must all always adhere to.

We are seeking a part-time Head of Finance and Operations to play a key role in supporting the smooth and effective running of CASE Europe’s London office. Reporting to the Co-Executive Directors, with a matrix line to the global Chief Financial Officer, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery across finance, HR and office operations.
Working closely with colleagues in Europe, Washington DC and Singapore, you will oversee regional budgeting and financial management, support audits and compliance, and ensure alignment with CASE’s global systems and processes. You will also lead HR activity for the Europe team of 15, manage office operations, and line-manage a small number of staff and matrix reports.
