We are looking for an experienced Media and PR Manager to join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team. The successful candidate will have developed a strong news sense, either as a journalist or from working in a media engagement role within a broader communications team. They will bring to the role exceptional political judgement and a strong list of existing contacts in the UK media. They will also be able to use their media and PR skills to spot opportunities in the UK news agenda to secure high-quality media coverage that influences decision-makers in the social affairs space. The successful candidate will be equally adept at pitching in stories, and responding to enquiries from across national, regional, consumer and trade press.
The role is varied and exciting. The successful candidate will need to be a team-player, willing to work collaboratively with colleagues from across the charity and able to juggle competing priorities, often to tight deadlines. As Carers Trust’s media lead they will also need to share their ideas and expertise across our network of local carer charities. They will also be able to inspire and build great relationships with our external funders and stakeholders.

Key Deliverables:
1. In collaboration with the Foundation Secretary, develop business cases for planned projects and funding proposals.
2. Manage and develop CU Futures, an innovative education and leadership development programme for young professionals in the credit union sector.
3. Work with the DEEU team to manage the relationship with the DE Committee and support the successful delivery of the annual courses.
4. Develop new learning and professional development options for professionals in the credit union sector

Primary location of role
This is a remote role, and the candidate will need to be based in the Kent, Sussex, or Surrey area. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as occasional travel to our London office.

Purpose of the role

The Prospect Research Manager will be instrumental in identifying and unlocking the potential of these supporters.
This strategic role sits at the heart of our Development team, building and maintaining a data-led pipeline of high-impact donors to advance ZSL’s conservation science, fieldwork, and education. By leading on prospect research, philanthropic analysis, and network mapping, the postholder will help ensure ZSL’s fundraising efforts are focused, proactive, and aligned with our organisational priorities.
The Prospect Research Manager will play a key role in overseeing best practices in prospecting across the team. From crafting research tools to spotting new funding opportunities, this role will directly support the success of ZSL’s fundraising programmes and, ultimately, our mission to save wildlife around the world.
This is a part-time role, with the option of working either 2 days (15 hours) or 3 days (21.5 hours) per week which can be spread flexibly over 5 days. We see a real benefit in face to face collaboration and staff work from our London offices regularly. We understand that flexibility is important and for this research-based role we are happy to discuss working location on a case-by-case basis with candidates.
The full-time equivalent (FTE) salary for this role is £36,750-£43,050, which equates to a pro-rata salary of:
- £14,700-£17,220 for 15 hours per week
- £21,045-£24,682 for 21.5 hours per week
Key responsibilities:
- Prospect Research & Pipeline Development: Conduct high-quality, targeted prospect research to identify and support new fundraising opportunities across ZSL’s priority income streams: institutional fundraising, individual giving, and corporate partnerships.
- Strategic Prospect Development: Collaborate with the leadership team to shape and implement a robust prospect development strategy that aligns with ZSL’s organisational goals and long-term fundraising ambitions.
- Insightful Donor Intelligence: Create detailed research briefings, biographies, and insight reports to support donor cultivation, stewardship, and strategic engagement planning.
- Tools, Processes & Compliance: Support the continuous improvement of prospect management tools and systems, ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to relevant codes of practice.
About You
- Experience in wealth screening, capacity assessment and affinity analysis to provide propensity scoring.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and how it applies to prospect research and development (e.g. GDPR and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice).
- Experience of successfully implementing a prospect development strategy to support increasing and diversifying income.
- Proven experience in identifying and conducting detailed research on high-net-worth individuals, trusts and corporates for the higher education / charity sector.
- Evidenced track record of supporting fundraisers with insights in fundraising to achieve six or seven figure donations.
- Experience of using databases within fundraising for prospect management and reporting and making appropriate data management recommendations (Tessitura would be an advantage).
- Knowledge of the principles of philanthropic analysis, relationship mapping and connections, and what makes a good fundraising prospect.
- Demonstrable ability to engage, share expertise, and appropriately challenge senior stakeholders, including CEO with strong interpersonal skills and discretion.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse.
Tender has grown significantly in recent years. We have secured income from an increasing range of sources: corporates, major donors, trusts & foundations and statutory funders. We have done this with a small but highly effective development team.
With a clear strategic focus for the next five years, we are strengthening our development team to ensure we have the funding needed to achieve our strategic ambitions. You will play a pivotal role in raising the funding for our ambitions, focusing on statutory and trusts & foundations income streams. You will lead on both these income streams, managing existing funders and securing new funders. You will secure income from your own portfolio of funders and partners, and lead and inspire the team to achieve their own ambitious targets, both through new sources and through excellent stewardship of existing funders.
Role purpose
The main purposes of this role are:
- Researching, identifying and applying for grant funding and commissioning from statutory sources, trusts and foundations (T&F)
- Developing and writing high quality fundraising bids which align with the objectives and needs of statutory funders, T&F and Tender’s strategic objectives
- Managing and maintaining partnerships and relationships with a range of stakeholders (statutory funders, T&F, delivery partners, professionals in the sector, internal stakeholders)
- Developing the Statutory and T&F strategy in collaboration with the Development Director
Main responsibilities and duties
New business development
- Developing and implementing a strategy to develop relationships with, and maximise income from, statutory sources, T&F
- Working with service managers, designing, developing and submitting high-quality funding proposals to statutory sources, T&F which are technically sound, meet donor requirements and align with Tender’s strategic objectives
- Maintaining an up-to-date market awareness of grant-making trends and best practice in T&F fundraising
- Developing the overall statutory and T & F strategy with oversight from the Development Director
- Monitoring and reporting against business development plans to ensure objectives are achieved, and proposing plans for remedial action if projections are not on track
Relationships
- Managing relationships with Statutory sources and T&F funding Tender, building a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of each funder
- Developing and executing stewardship and relationship management plans for T&F to maximise the value and duration of their support for Tender
- Overseeing the production of high-quality monitoring reports for T&F, and using insights from funded programmes to develop case for support materials
- Working with other Tender managers to ensure the consistent tone and positioning of Tender in the implementation of marketing of all projects
- Line managing two Development Officers
Administration
- Working with the Governance team to improve operational effectiveness and quality service by identifying and implementing process improvements
- Contributing to the maintenance of Tender’s overall Development function, providing appropriate analysis and reports
- Developing and maintaining a funding database and ensuring it is up to date to effectively monitor and evaluate the strategy
- Completing all mandatory training, and proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional development
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed, including safeguarding, data protection and equal opportunities
- Working as a member of the Tender team and carrying out other duties that may be required to meet the needs of the organisation

The corporate partnerships for the charity have been focused on strategic engagement on an organisational level and growth has been achieved through supporting multiple objectives and senior stakeholder relationships, so continuing this line of work will be important in the portfolio. The role will focus on both new business and account management with ambitious individual and team income targets.
To be successful as the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will have proven experience of corporate partnerships fundraising and be able to evidence securing and managing multi-year high value partnerships of six and seven figures. This person will need to demonstrate how they have developed a successful set of approaches to win new corporate partnerships and ideally experience of networking mapping and relationship building with the education and/or non-for-profit sector at the C-suite level.
This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices for at least two days per week. The salary for this role is £49,000 to £55,000.

The Bike Project is an award-winning charity which refurbishes second hand bikes and donates them to refugees. We were founded in 2013 by, Jem Stein, after he struck up a friendship and found a bike for Adam, a Darfuri refugee who had fled his home in Sudan after war broke out.
The Bike Project has grown into a national operation with new CEO, hundreds of volunteers, a team of 20 committed staff, roadshows in different cities, an online shop and two workshops, one in the capital and one in Birmingham.
To date we have supported over 15,000 refugees and people seeking asylum by giving them a second-hand bike. In addition, we have supported hundreds through our programmes designed to build confidence and build friendships in the local community.
Duites and Responsibilities
This role will provide maternity cover for an initial period of 12 months, with the potential for a 1–2 month extension. It will focus on developing new corporate partnerships and managing relationships with our existing corporate supporters.The role holder will work closely with the Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising, Marketing and Retail to ensure a strategic approach to the development and management of relationships with our corporate partners, enabling us to maximise the potential from them.
As well as leading income generation, the post will develop current and new corporate partnerships, providing personalised stewarding journeys.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of securing income directly from corporates for charity, both winning and securing new partnerships as well as maintaining and developing existing supporters. They will be able to prioritise, manage pipelines, research, pitch and manage partnerships to increase their value.
Location
Hybrid, with one day a week working from our London (Brixton) office. Occasional travel required to Birmingham, evening or weekend work.
