You will be helping to run the social media channels of our CEO and Founder, Dr Luke Gamble, working as part of the Marketing Team at animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS). Your role will help raise awareness of the charities work, which in turn will mean more animals receive life-saving veterinary care.
You will take the lead on communication through our social media platforms for Luke, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. You will work closely with our Senior Marketing Executive and wider marketing team to create content tailored for each channel to ensure high levels of engagement, and audience growth.
This is a new role and offers a great opportunity for the right candidate. This role would be based at our office in Truro, Cornwall.

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi, Cambodia and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Our Mission Rabies project runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Since the project began, over seven million dogs have been vaccinated against rabies and over thirteen million children have been educated in rabies prevention, protecting the lives of people and animals.
Last year, WVS helped an animal every 14 seconds. We trained over 4,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,700 parcels of veterinary supplies to 261 charities in 71 countries.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Create engaging and informative content for Luke’s channels, including producing day to day content plans and supporting on campaigns.
- Work with the WVS film team to develop an annual content calendar and overarching strategy for the YouTube channel, tailored to appropriate audiences.
- Work with Luke to produce regular engaging video content.
- Analyse engagement data to provide insights and continuously improve communications.
- Manage the social media accounts on a day-to-day basis, including responding to comments and messages.
- Identify and liaise with influencers, brand ambassadors, and collaborators.
- Support the wider marketing team with campaigns and activity.
- Some evening and weekend working, to include travel, will likely be required.
Essential Skills & Experience

Job Profile
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead on the recruitment, retention, and value growth of Afghanaid’s supporter base by directing and implementing communications, fundraising and engagement strategies, aligned with broader organisation goals. Designing and managing a tight budget, you will direct the Communication and Giving unit to maximise their success.
You will provide strategic and supervisory oversight of fundraising income from individual giving, regular giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, corporates, community and student fundraising and events, managing annual fundraising appeals and driving organisational unrestricted income growth.
You will lead on communications for Afghanaid, overseeing print, digital, and paid marketing activities and the growth of communications channels. PERSON SPECIFICATION
You will be an experienced and dynamic communicator with significant demonstrable experience in fundraising and/or communications at a senior level, coupled with an awareness and up to date knowledge and experience of the tools that would maximise the success of our communications and fundraising activities. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Possessing strong management skills, you will have experience of managing small multi-disciplinary teams, providing direction and leadership to enable development and high performance, and the ability to role-model a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Education/ Training

As a key member of the Creative Content team, the Senior Graphic Designer will lead on and produce all aspects of creative design and branded materials. Responsible for ensuring heightened creativity and brand consistency, the Graphic Designer will act as a brand guardian, leading creativity across the organisation to elevate IR’s brand.

• Agency Management: Experience managing creative, fundraising and digital marketing agencies, to deliver a variety of campaigns or activities across multiple channels.
• Digital Proficiency: Demonstrable expertise setting up and managing campaigns in Meta Business Suite, Google paid advertising, and email marketing platforms like Mailchimp.

Budget Management
- With the Head of Comms & Individual Giving, set annual budgets and programmes of activity, actively monitoring performance against these and adapting approach as necessary

Experience
- Experience working in individual giving fundraising with an excellent working knowledge of donor recruitment, retention and development
- Experience of designing supporter journeys that engage, retain, and inspire donors
- Experience of preparing and managing annual plans and budgets
- Proven project management experience, including design, print and mailing processes
- Experience of working with a CRM system (we use RE NXT) and digital fundraising tools
- Experienced in using data and insight to inform decisions and optimise activity
Knowledge
- Knowledge of fundraising laws and regulations in relation to data protection and compliance
- Knowledge of the Fundraising Regulator and Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice

Our Time Charity is seeking an experienced Communications and Social Media Officer to strengthen our digital presence and amplify the voices of children affected by parental mental illness.
This role plays a central part in delivering our communications strategy by ensuring our message reaches families, professionals, funders and partners with clarity, creativity and purpose. You will manage our social media channels, develop engaging and accessible content, support campaign rollouts, and contribute to PR and stakeholder communications that challenge stigma and raise national awareness.
Working closely with the Communications Lead and the wider team, you’ll help shape and share stories that reflect lived experience, ensuring children feel seen, understood, and less alone, and that the wider system better understands the impact of parental mental health difficulties.

Job description
The PR and Communications Officer will support the Senior PR and Communications Officer to raise awareness of the Charity by identifying and promoting compelling stories to regional and national media. Working closely with colleagues across PR and Communications, clinical teams, Fundraising, Marketing and Digital, the role will help to showcase the Charity’s impact on people affected by cancer in the UK and globally, while supporting fundraising activity across all income streams.
The PR and Communications Officer will support the Senior PR and Communications Officer in writing content for relevant in‑house magazine titles, along with using their communications expertise, with guidance from the wider PR and Communications Team, to help promote community fundraising events, corporate partnerships, major donor events and fundraising campaigns.
This a fantastic opportunity for an organised, detail-focused individual with excellent writing skills to help raise awareness of the Charity, making a meaningful difference to people with cancer.
What you’ll be doing
· Working with the PR and Communications Team to maximise opportunities to promote the Charity’s funding of life-saving research to develop new treatments which have global impact.
· Supporting a comprehensive media service which includes the proactive sell in of positive stories about the work of the Charity.
· Building relationships with clinical colleagues and in particular, Charity-funded consultants, nurses, researchers, and allied health professionals to gain their support for Charity communications including press releases, tailored pitches, other print media channels and the Charity's magazine.
· With support, write and edit the Charity’s supporter magazine, Progress, in collaboration with the Charity’s leadership team and fundraising colleagues.
· Working with fundraising teams to identify unique and inspiring stories associated with the Charity’s annual calendar of events and campaigns.

You’ll be an exceptional team player with:
· Relevant media relations experience, including experience of crafting tailored pitches for media outlets.
· Proven track record of delivering compelling copy, in the right tone and to deadline.
· Strong interpersonal skills - the ability to build effective and productive relationships with colleagues and case studies.
· Strong organisational skills – the ability to plan and prioritise content development in line with agreed targets and timelines.
· Experience of managing stakeholders both within and outside an organisation, at all levels.
