Based in Farnham and Guildford, we serve a population of 550,000 across West Surrey and part of Northeast Hampshire. We are currently building a new Hospice, so it is an exciting time to be part of our team.

Income Supervisor
37 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 - £32,500 per annum WTE (dependent on experience)
Location: Farnham

Do you have accounting experience and the ability to support and supervise a small team? Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint an Income Supervisor to lead and coordinate the Income team within our Finance Department.

The main responsibilities are to:

• Supervise a small income team and volunteers.
• Manage, control, analyse and reconcile income onto the financial ledger and the donor database.
• Manage the entry of all direct bank receipts and income from online giving platforms, including set up and monitoring all standing orders and associated bank reconciliation.
• Oversee weekly cash counts for banking via G4S security.
• Act as the main point of contact with the finance department for all retail operations staff and ensure all retail shop income is recorded correctly and reconciles to the retail system.
• Be the main point of contact and information for all income issues, liaising with other departments as required.
• Manage the Gift Aid declaration process including the correct entry on donor database and the scanning process.

The successful candidate will have:

• AAT level 4 / MAAT or be qualified by experience to this level.
• A detailed knowledge of financial accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
• Experience of complex reconciliations of high-volume transactional data.
• Proven experience of implementing & managing strong financial controls.
• Familiarity with accounting in charity sector and gift aid welcomed.
• Experience of operating specialised accounting systems – PT uses Microsoft Business Central.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, basic pivot, SUMIFS, conditional formatting and similar)
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Strong planning, organisational and flexibility skills.
• Some experience of leading a team (staff & volunteers).

Director of Income Generation

An opportunity has arisen to join Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice as our new Director of Income Generation.  Reporting to the Chief Executive you will lead a dynamic and committed team to achieve ambitious income generation targets.  You will sustain and further develop a balanced, and diverse income generation portfolio, focusing on maximising income and growing enduring relationships with supporters and customers across our region.

This is an exciting time to join Phyllis Tuckwell with the successful candidate having the opportunity to plan and implement the final stage of our £6 million appeal to build a new hospice.

• Be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to generate income and raise awareness of the Hospice mission and services.

What the job involves 

We’re looking for an Income Processing Executive to join our Data Import Team. This role who will be vital in ensuring our regular giving income continues to grow and help to fund our research to stop prostate cancer killing men.

You’ll be responsible for the day to day running and upkeep of our regular giving customers’ details in our CRM, and for the preparation and submission of weekly payment files to our payment partner. This requires handling data effectively, promptly and above all accurately in line with our business priorities while ensuring best practice and compliance.  

You’ll proactively engage regularly with other teams ensuring that our supporters are given an excellent service, that meets the business objectives of Prostate Cancer UK. 

This role will take responsibility for checking that incoming data matches uploaded data, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and adjust gift data in our CRM, Raiser’s Edge, when required.

Role Description

Volunteers

o Working with the CEO and Head of Support Services develop and deliver the Volunteering Strategy for the organisation.

o Work to significantly increase the inclusivity of volunteers and the work done by volunteers.

o Oversee the recruitment of volunteers and ensure appropriate induction in collaboration with relevant staff.

o Deliver mandatory initial and ongoing training for volunteers.

o Working with colleagues, produce and keep up-to-date policies, processes and forms, ensuring volunteers understand and use these resources.

o Provide day-to-day support to volunteers, working closely with the Head of Support Services.

o Manage all volunteer programme communications in collaboration with the Communications Officer including: ebulletins, website, social media and print materials.

o Collect and process feedback and statistics and compile reports on satisfaction and effectiveness as required.

o Provide specific support for volunteering roles including;

Helpline and Telephone Buddies

o Support the transition of the helpline to a new scheme such as our telephone buddy scheme

o Support and review the telephone buddy scheme

o In conjunction with the Head of Support Services, support the implementation and ongoing management of a new Facebook support group

o Collate statistics on helpline calls and report on this monthly.

Local Support Groups

o Support the establishment of online condition specific and new regional groups.

o Undertake visits to Local Support Groups as appropriate.

o Working with the Finance and Operations Manager support the groups to use funds they have raised.

Other Volunteers

o Support Office volunteers in their day to day work, being the first point of contact and allocating tasks.

o Working with the Head of Support Services contribute to the development of the Lived Experience Committee.

o Working with the Head of Fundraising support and engage Ambassador and Fundraising volunteers.

Support Service Coordination

o Ensure the CRM system is up to date with all Support Services information.

o Ensure all statistics relating to Support Services are up to date.

o Ensure Support Services’ phone systems and booked calls are effectively and efficiently set up.

o Ensure accurate record of all research and surveys we are asked to engage in and follow up on outcomes of that research.

o Undertake any small administrative duties as required.

o Where required, provide support in managing the helpline emails.

Support Services Events

o Lead on the development and delivery of three one day conference style events annually.  These will be held throughout the UK and will offer panel discussions and networking for our community. 

o In partnership with the wider team, occasionally represent The Foundation by running information stands, coordinating volunteers and preparing information for external events such as industry conferences.

o Where appropriate attend and present at external meetings.

o Support the management and delivery of the portfolio of online and in person events delivered by the Pituitary Foundation in conjunction with the wider team.

Join Dementia UK as a Gift Processing Officer helping to establish an excellent level of financial processing that will underpin the growth in fundraising activity across a range of income streams.

Working within the supporter care team you will be responsible for processing a high volume of donations. The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in database management, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and strong numeracy skills. You will have high computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and adapt to changing demands in a busy environment.

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and to their friends, families and carers. Our projects empower ostomates to return to sports, hobbies and other activities after their surgery and give them the confidence to take on fresh challenges. We advocate for ostomates’ rights and are their voice on the bigger issues. Our campaigns raise awareness of ‘life with a stoma’ and encourage organisations to make their facilities more inclusive.

About the role:

As the Volunteers and Support Administrator you will provide efficient administration to our support services and volunteer team. You will also undertake any admin duties involved with running the Colostomy UK office and support other members of the team. You will be answering and re-directing incoming calls on our stoma helpline. You won’t be providing support to callers; however you will need to have an empathetic approach whilst explaining that you will arrange a support call back from one of our volunteers. You will action calls that come through on our admin line and manage our central email inbox, ensuring requests are actioned promptly. You will organise volunteer rotas, help with onboarding our volunteers and organise incoming and outgoing post. The postholder will take minutes at meetings, ensure the office is kept tidy and co-ordinate stock delivery for events and exhibitions.

Our ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate for this position is organized, efficient, and reliable, capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently. They will possess excellent customer care skills, demonstrating a professional and empathetic telephone manner. Attention to detail is vital, along with strong time management abilities. The successful post holder will have effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft programs and accurate data entry. While prior administration experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.

• To provide comprehensive administration to our support services and volunteer team, including the rest of the Colostomy UK team. To ensure the smooth running of office operations.
• Answering and re-directing incoming calls on our helpline and admin line, arranging support call backs from our team of volunteers with lived experience.

About this job

Please note this role is part-time 21 hours/or 3 days a week.

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.

This role requires working flexible hours, including 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm between Monday to Friday to meet services and volunteer needs (3 days a week).

If you’re passionate about offering high quality information and emotional support and have relevant Helpline experience, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be providing continuous support to all our volunteers at the Helpline team, directly contributing in providing information and support to our Helpline enquirers, with both proactive and reactive content and information on prevalent topics or trends affecting the MS community.

Our aim is to empower people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) to:

• Take an active role in their treatment
• Secure the care and support they need

At St Nicholas Hospice Care we are looking for a Community Fundraiser to join our experienced team and help support our large network of dedicated supporters.

2024 marks the 40th Anniversary of St Nicholas Hospice Care with a number of exciting fundraising events in the pipeline, so now is the perfect opportunity to join the team and ensure the Hospice can provide for those in our local community for the next 40 years.

As a Community Fundraiser you’ll be the face of St Nicholas Hospice Care out in the community. Your role will involve engaging with supporter led events throughout West Suffolk and Thetford, ensuring our fundraisers have all the expert help they need to make their activities as successful as possible.

You will also work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager and wider fundraising team to help deliver a number of key Hospice events throughout the year, such as Bury Hidden Gardens and our Light Up a Life events as well as encouraging you to come up with your own fundraising ideas and initiatives.

Our Third Party Events team are working to raise up to £2m+ across a range of activities in 2024, and we need brilliant people to help achieve our ambitious fundraising goals.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of third party challenge events to target, and for innovating, developing and delivering new fundraising activities.

You'll also be monitoring and evaluating all products to create opportunities for future growth. This role is customer-focused and you'll spend lots of time stewarding our amazing supporters to maximise their fundraising.

This is an exciting opportunity to steward fundraising teams of significant size, as well as helping to shape the future third party events strategy.

The portfolio is well-established and includes a mixture of events activities, including runs, cycles and challenges. You'll have contact with event participants and supporters and manage relationships with a number of third party agencies, while working with other colleagues in our Community and Events team.
