KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Fundraising

• Liaising with our SAT-7 International Development Team to identify projects which require funding and source material for proposals and reports

Statutory and Development Funding

• Monitor statutory funding opportunities and, working with your line manager, support the development of applications, proposals and reports.

EDUCATION FOR ALL MOROCCO has been fundrasing for over two decades, to enable girls living in the High Atlas mountains to access fulltime education, by providing boarding accomodation near to their senior schools.  Five of our six houses were destroyed in the September 2023 High Atlas earthquake. Miraculously they were all empty at the time of the disaster. Due to the extraordinary generosity of donors, EFA has substantial funds to support an extensive program of rebuilding

As Finance & Operations Administrator you will have a key role to play working closely with the trustees and Head of Fundraising & Communications to co-ordinate activities,  to ensure day to day operations in the UK run smoothly.  

The role as advertised covers a broad range of activities. However there will be peaks and troughs of workload. 

This job is for you if you are:

-  A qualified accountant or bookkeeper with experience of Xero ideal (training can be provided).

- Confident working with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) & Shared drive (eg, GoogleDocs).

- Comfortable working with a variety of IT packages, or learning how to do so 

- Very organised, able to take the initiative, able to work independently.

- Experienced working in a small but ambitious organisation, or are confident you can adapt to such an environment

- Able to be flexible in terms of work load.

In a typical month you’ll:

-  Support the Chair of Finance; preparing monthly accounts. Processing receipts and payments for bank reconciliation; invoices and expense claims.   Filing finance documentation. Maintian the restricted v unrestricted donation records, Gift Aid schedules, HMRC returns.

-  Support  the Head of Fund Raising and Communications, liaising with donors (sending receipts, requests for information), researching potential donors, preparing grant applications, ordering brochures and marketing information. Acting as a day to day point of contact. 

- Support the Chair and Vice Chair of Trustees;  helping to prepare and distribute monthly meeting agendas, supporting papers, co-ordinating virtual meeting schedule, drafting and distributing minutes, .- 

-  Support the Chair of Governance ensuring Trustee and Staff Handbooks (policies and protocols), risk register, are uptodate and accessible via the website portal. Lead the administration process for the recruitment of trustees and staff, including the preparation of candidate packs, advertising, induction. Oversight of the EFA Partnership Agreements.

- Support the Chair of Educaton re liaison with relevant external auditors (safeguarding, health and safety, risk). Linking with Moroccan partners to agree on timing and arrangements for audit visits. Ensuring reports are available to trustees as agreed. 

- General ad hoc support to trustees, staff and external stakeholders as required.

About the role

The Hardman Trust supports people on long prison sentences to take their next steps in life. As the office, grants and programmes administrator your role is to help make this a reality through the day-to-day support of our work. You’ll help to ensure our programmes run smoothly, and that the staff have the administrative support they need to provide a quality service to people accessing our programmes.

As the programme & volunteer coordinator your role is to help make this a reality through the coordination of programmes in line with our business plan, and overseeing the recruitment, onboarding and support of our volunteers. 

Your role is designed to flex to coordinate existing or new programmes as the needs of our organisation and its users evolve. In its first year, your role will be to coordinate our Penfriends letter writing programme and our grants programme. This will involve growing both programmes across the estate, liaising with prisons to ensure the smooth running of both programmes, and ensuring sufficient volunteer coverage. You will have day-to-day administrative support from our Office, Programmes and Grants Administrator to complete administrative tasks, and you will be supported by the Head of Service Delivery to embed an organisational-wide approach to volunteering.

Job Purpose

Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with the West London NHS Mental Health Teams, operating within the tri-borough area.

The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being. The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include housing, welfare benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc.

The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed.

The successful candidate will work closely with the West London NHS Mental Health teams and project volunteers, ensuring adherence to the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and Mind's policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

Place of Work

The Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be required to work within the West London NHS Mental Health team offices.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The main responsibility of this role is to assist the Head of Resources in the efficient and smooth running of financial functional activities of the charity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.

2. Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Head of Resources and assisting in developing and maintaining all financial reporting within the charity.

3. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the charity’s annual income and expenditure budget.

4. Assisting in monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.

5. Dealing with finance related queries from staff, senior management, supporters, and suppliers.

6. Maintenance and reconciliation of direct debits, standing orders and other online donations.

7. Supporting the financial controller in the planning and preparation of statutory accounts and the annual audit.

8. Ensuring accurate gift aid records are maintained for supporters and conducting the annual gift aid claim.

9. Assisting in the maintenance of all accounting records on an ongoing basis to ensure:.

             a.   All income and expenditure are properly approved, banked and processed in a timely manner.

             b.   Monthly cash/cheque management and bank reconciliations are carried out and recorded.

This role is to deliver a co designed menu of support, in collaboration with The National Autistic Society, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust, and Barnardo’s. The practitioner will provide impactful, school-based support to parents and carers of children and young people, and offer consultancy, professional training and advice to school staff, school-based needs teams and system wide partners. RECLAIM is a bold charity that is committed to building a fair and just world for and with all working-class young people. We build knowledge, power, community and solidarity to campaign on the issues that affect them the most. We do this in three ways:

Community - Creating spaces that grow a sense of belonging and solidarity.

Our changemaking work includes:

• We supported young people to successfully campaign for free bus travel for all 16-18 year olds across Greater Manchester. A policy which now benefits 40,000 young people, making 250,000 free journeys per week and saving them and their families an average of over £500 per young person per year.

• We helped young people highlight and challenge the increasing use of violent and dehumanising language in politics. The campaign gained widespread media coverage and resulted in new commitments from the Speaker, Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition.

• Young people we support were at the forefront of highlighting the impact of COVID19 on working-class communities and demanding better recognition of the essential workers keeping the country going during lockdown.

We are seeking a Youth Worker who can work alongside our Campaign Programmes Team with young people in Greater Manchester. This will involve project based outreach youth work, designing and delivering sessions and activities,  holding 1-1s with young people and participation in other elements of RECLAIM work. The post holder will be required to deliver regular sessions across different locations in Greater Manchester in the evenings and, at times, the weekend.

Job description:

• Supporting the Campaigns Programmes Manager by feeding into the development, delivery and implementation of different projects, programmes and campaigns.

• Using existing and bespoke evaluation tools and methods to judge the success of the programme and working to improve RECLAIM’s work with young people.

• Ensuring our work is in compliance with all relevant health and safety laws and RECLAIM’s policies on safeguarding.

• Developing and delivering innovative one-to-one, small group and large group work with young people to promote their development according to RECLAIM’s mission, including sourcing materials and facilitators, as well as coordinating/supporting volunteers and mentors where appropriate.

• Developing close links with appropriate individuals, organisations, and statutory bodies in the communities in which RECLAIM works to create a conducive environment for RECLAIM’s work with young people.

Person specification:

We are looking for someone who:

Essential

Has a strong belief in the potential of working-class young people to be leaders of change.

Enjoys being flexible within their job role, working on projects, and leading sessions in schools and communities.

Has an understanding of the social, cultural and economical barriers working class young people face.

Has the ability to use conversation, activity and environments to work with young people to develop critical thinking, reflection, learning, action and change.

Has experience of outreach youth work, working within schools, individual and group work.

Experience of monitoring and evaluating effectively to demonstrate impact. 

Experience of safeguarding young people.

Is able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the young people and RECLAIM

Has great organisational skills when working both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Has a strong knowledge, appreciation and practical experience of ‘informal education’, which may be supported by a professional qualification.

Has experience of working with young people in a pastoral care and development role.

Not familiar with the term working class?

No problem, lots of people aren't. It means different things to different people but for us at RECLAIM being working-class is characterised by a few key factors:

• You're on, or grew up on, a low income with limited access to wealth.

• You don't have many family connections to people with well paid, professional or powerful jobs.

• You find it harder to 'fit in' in middle-class spaces, interests and conversations.

• You're proud of your background and want people to see it as a strength, not a weakness

While working-class people have many of these things in common, we're a diverse bunch too. Working-class people are white, black and brown, LGBT+, disabled, recent migrants or refugees or from families who can trace their roots in the UK back generations, of various religions or none, women, men and non-binary. We're many things but we share the experience of growing up facing those four factors above.

Robin Hood Avenue is a small mental health, supported housing service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Sonrise Services International is a Charity that supports Christian workers in the UK and throughout Europe. The Facility Manager will be an integral part of a team that is dedicated to the training experience of Christian workers around the globe.The Facility Manager will provide part-time maintenance support for the building, grounds, guest house, properties, and overall functions of our training centre located in Redhill.
