About the Role
The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of both Freeways and Freeways Trust and will be responsible for developing and delivering financial strategies that align with the charities' objectives while maintaining financial sustainability. This position also involves overseeing financial management, ensuring compliance and leading the finance team to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership and Financial Planning: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to set strategic direction and develop financial strategies and budgets. Develop the financial strategy and five-year budget plan, including capital investment plans and cashflow forecasts that align with strategic priorities and operational plans.
- Financial Management and Control: Oversee finance operations, ensure timely reporting, and lead the annual audit process. Maintain, review, and update internal financial controls across the finance function, identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks. Be responsible for the review and audit of financial processes across the organisation including for the people we support.
- Organisational Performance: Manage budget-setting and performance tracking, providing insightful analysis to stakeholders.
- Governance: Act as Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with charity law and maintaining essential records with the Charity Commission and Companies House.
- Leadership, Management and Culture: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and lead the finance team to achieve operational excellence and foster a positive organisational culture.
About You
You will be a qualified and experienced finance professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to improving financial processes. Your strategic thinking and exceptional communication skills will allow you to explain complex financial information to various audiences and help them understand the impact on the wider charity and the potential future options. You will also possess a solid understanding of financial management, compliance, and governance, along with the ability to lead and develop a team.

Building Tomorrow – Neighbourhood Housing Project Lead
Oasis exists to build stronger communities where there is no one left out. Building Tomorrow is an innovative new neighbourhood housing programme that Oasis is developing in Sheffield and Scunthorpe.
We are pioneering a new community-led solution to housing challenges in two communities where Oasis already works, running five schools and two community Hubs. We are working to develop quality housing that offers opportunity for families to find a stable and supportive place of belonging in community.
The programme will combine quality housing, excellent education (provided through Oasis academies), and community wrap-around support (delivered through our existing youth and community teams). This programme is designed to offer a preventative approach to housing challenges, acting as a proof of concept that can be replicated in other communities around the country.
This role will act as the central point of coordination which will ensure Building Tomorrow moves successfully from initiation to full activation over the initial 18-month period. In the activation period, we will purchase and refurbish the 20 properties, and this role will work in close coordination with our property consultants. As properties are purchased, we will begin to move into the delivery phase, where we start to house families.

What will you do?
The key areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:
· To act as the main link between all stakeholders: the Oasis teams including academies; contractors; and any community partners. To make sure everyone is communicating effectively and working toward the same goal.
· To work in close collaboration with Oasis Community Leaders in Sheffield and Scunthorpe. To support the Community Leaders and wider community teams to welcome families by acting as a key part of the community support offer through the 18-month activation phase.
· To own the 18-month master plan. This will involve tracking progress, analysing potential delays, and proactively solving problems so the activation stays on time and on budget.
· To focus on transitioning the housing element from a period of acquisition and refurbishment into functioning homes. This includes everything from smooth resident move-ins to ensuring the community support is fully accessible.
· To work alongside colleagues in the Operations Group to design operational processes including the community support offer, housing management systems, and tenancy arrangements.
· To help the team set clear, achievable goals for the activation period and then track whether those goals are being met, providing regular, honest updates to all stakeholders.
· To support the Group CEO in liaising with our social investor.

This is a hands-on, people-facing role for someone who takes pride in creating spaces that really work. As our Facilities Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind safe, welcoming and well-run workplaces that allow our teams to focus on what matters most - supporting people out of homelessness. From the moment someone walks through the door of one of our offices, your work will be felt. Based full-time at our Head Office in King’s Cross, you’ll be visible, present and involved - working on site five days a week and travelling across London to our other offices and services. No two days will look the same. One day you might be problem-solving with a manager, walking a site, or supporting a health and safety issue; the next you could be leading a refurbishment, improving how a space is used, or making sure contractors are delivering what they promised. The Head of Finance’s key priorities, in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, are to lead and support the strategic and annual financial planning processes, and to prepare and analyse accurate and timely financial information for the Board of Trustees and the Directors of the Trading Company, ensuring compliance with all external financial reporting requirements.
Main Duties:
1. To provide an effective and accurate financial management and accountancy service to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
2. Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance on a monthly basis against plan by the preparation and issue of monthly budget statements. Make recommendations on costing assumptions to be included within all budgets. For example, inflation rates.
3. Support the strategic direction of the business by leading on the preparation of 5 year financial forecasts to support strategic planning and to ensure the long term financial viability of the business.
4. Prepare and maintain financial accounts in a timely fashion and ensure they are consistent with external financial reporting standards and requirements.
5. Provide monthly financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
6. Prepare cash flow reports on a regular/quarterly basis and monitor cash requirements and advise the Board of Trustees, Directors of the Trading Company and Executive Leadership Team on the liquidity position of the business.
7. Provide advice on all financial matters, including issues arising in connection with charity legislation, to ensure that the business meets its legal financial obligations and complies will all external regulatory requirements.
8. Liaise with H.M. Revenue and Customs and VAT consultants regarding records and payments and ensure compliance with all regulations.
9. Ensure the provision of a monthly payroll service and ensure delivery of an accurate, reliable and quality payroll service to all staff.
10. To liaise with all regulatory external bodies in connection with any financial or charity matters, i.e. auditors, accountants, bank, solicitors, Charity Commission, Companies House, insurance company, pension advisors and others.
11. Annual completion of the Charity Commission self-assessment, ensuring that we comply with best practice.
12. Attend the meetings of the local networking groups as required.
13. Review and monitor performance of the business’s investments and provide up to date reports to the Board of Trustees, enabling them to make appropriate investment decisions.
14. As part of financial reporting, complete regular analysis of all income and expenditure, supporting budget holders as required to identify areas where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.
15. Support in the preparation of business cases as necessary across the business.

21.To manage and support staff in the Finance Department, ensuring they have the right knowledge and skills to carry out their duties effectively.

Performance Standards:
1. Annual income and expenditure budgets are approved annually and monitored monthly.
2. Management Accounts are aimed to be completed within 10 working days of month end and available for the Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Directors of the Trading Company.
3. Regulatory requirements are met as and when they fall due.
4. The provision of an accurate and reliable set of annual financial statements.
5. Meet with statutory and external organisations in a timely and professional manner.
6. Quarterly VAT returns, Annual Corporation Tax returns and other statutory returns are submitted in a timely manner.
7. With regard to financial records and reporting, to comply with and meet the standards of the Care Quality Commission.

We are a large-scale restoration and hospitality project in the Northwest Highlands with strong philanthropic and community commitments. The heart of our operation is on a remote and beautiful 766-acre island. In 2026 we will become a Scottish charity - The Tanera Project – with core purposes spanning rural regeneration, resilience building in our public services via the provision of respite breaks, and ecosystem restoration.
We are looking for a Team Lead to take on the coordination of our Land and Estates Team across our island and mainland properties, totalling 6,500 acres of grounds, in-bye land, woodland and hill. The team has a wide remit, including grasskeeping, landscaping, regenerative agriculture on a crofting-scale, livestock, stalking, fishing, horses, guest activities, and supporting our gardens, ecology and path teams with extra hands when needed. The team is five strong, supported by seasonal hands, volunteers and staff from other teams working multifunctionally.
Our land management approach balances production, nature, and heritage, with an emphasis on using the land to build communities. We share everything we do with guests and volunteers so planning for and delivering shared activities is a core part of the role. We deliver our activities with an impeccable aesthetic centred round heritage, industry and creativity, requiring a real eye for detail. The Land and Estates Team covers several core functions in the charity and has a diverse remit with competing priorities so this role will appeal to proven leaders, able to deliver both on the ground and in terms of planning and organisation. It will involve turning a hand to many different tasks and many hours out and about in our challenging West Coast environment.
Regeneration
We are looking for an excellent coordinator with demonstrable experience in leading a team with a wide remit and proficiency in at least two of the team focus areas: grounds-keeping, agriculture, estate work, horses and working with guests and volunteers in an outdoor environment. The right candidate will be an experienced, creative, resourceful and flexible professional. They will have an interest in landscape scale regeneration that is attentive to heritage, productivity (food and more) and ecosystems. The salary for this role will be £40-50kpa, depending on experience.
Resilience
Our team comes from across the country and further afield. We have our own growing island community of staff, guests and volunteers, while also being embedded in mainland life in nearby crofting townships and villages. The work of the Land and Estates team is wide-ranging and there are also opportunities to work with different teams and on different projects, sail heritage boats, work with our horses, host guests, school groups and volunteers, and generally get involved with island life. GrowTH is a non-denominational Christian charity, which works in partnership with evangelical churches from a variety of backgrounds within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
GrowTH seeks to share God’s love with its homeless neighbours in word and deed. So, alongside receiving practical care and help, all GrowTH guests have the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus and to explore the Christian faith, if they wish.
GrowTH, has four main projects that make up the charity’s activities. They are as follows:
- Night Shelter: provides volunteer-run winter shelter in Tower Hamlets from October to April each year. Homeless men and women are referred to GrowTH by local homeless agencies. Once accepted into the shelter, guests receive a warm welcome, a hot evening meal, a safe bed for the night, and breakfast in the morning. The resettlement support there provides every guest in the shelter with one-to-one support from GrowTH’s two Advocate Workers to help them move out of homelessness, with the aim of resettling them into stable accommodation. We accommodate up to 15 Guests in the Shelter each night, and typically shelter around 150 Guests each season.
- Housing: provides medium term (twelve-eighteen month) affordable move-on homes locally for some who have stayed in the shelter, or are referred in from other sources, in order to help them transition towards independence. Each Resident is provided with bespoke support towards their support needs by our Housing team. We currently have 31 residents across 12 flats.
- Day Centre: provides a safe space for guests to meet with the staff team for advocacy and support meetings. There will also be space for shelter guests to relax and ample opportunities for both staff and volunteer-led evangelistic events, as well as prayer ministry.
- Lazarus House: a community house project for male residents. The house provides an opportunity for men seeking a fresh start to confront deep rooted issues impacting their lives, within a safe, loving, disciplined and family environment. This is a key partnership with the local churches in which they provide discipleship for the Residents as well as fellowship, and GrowTH provide the practical support and housing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing day-to-day oversight and support to GrowTH’s various frontline projects

- Ensure that routine fire safety checks are undertaken in all of GrowTH’s properties, and that gas and electric safety certificates are obtained. Ensuring compliance will all relevant health and safety legislation.
Provide oversight for the development and implementation of new frontline projects
- Provide ongoing operational oversight for Lazarus House, supporting staff and ensuring high quality care and support for the Residents.
- Identify and assess opportunities for future projects that will enhance GrowTH’s mission, working with the Director to develop any new initiatives, should opportunities arise.
