The Information Management Specialist will focus on the classification of organisational data, ensuring appropriate confidentiality levels, and implementing robust data loss prevention strategies.The role includes analysing and optimising current SharePoint libraries and leading the development and implementation of an intranet to enhance collaboration and information sharing across the organisation.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience in data classification, data loss prevention, or information security. Expertise in SharePoint administration and optimisation. Strong understanding of data governance, privacy laws, and compliance standards. Experience with intranet platforms and content management systems (CMS). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Classification and Data Confidentiality:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive information classification framework to categorise data based on sensitivity, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify and classify sensitive data, ensuring appropriate security controls and access levels are applied.
• Regularly review and update classification policies and procedures to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR)
Data Loss Prevention (DLP):
• Develop, implement, and manage data loss prevention strategies and tools to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
• Monitor and analyse data flows and user activities to detect and respond to potential data breaches or policy violations.
• Work with Cyber Security team to establish controls and technologies that prevent data leakage (e.g., encryption, access controls).
SharePoint Library Analysis and Optimisation:
• Analyse current SharePoint libraries to assess the organisation, security, and accessibility of information.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimise SharePoint libraries, including metadata management, document version control, and access permissions.
• Ensure that SharePoint libraries are aligned with the organisation's information classification framework and DLP strategies.
Intranet Development and Implementation:
• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of an organisational intranet to enhance internal communication, collaboration, and information sharing.
• Define and document the intranet’s structure, features, and functionality, including user roles, content management, and search capabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure the intranet meets user needs and supports organisational goals.
Data Security and Compliance:
• Ensure all data management practices comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and organisational policies.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities in data storage and transmission.
• Maintain documentation of data security protocols, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
Training and Awareness:
• Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about data classification, confidentiality requirements, and data loss prevention practices.
• Create awareness materials (e.g., guides, FAQs) to support employees in understanding and adhering to information management policies.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Support:
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Audit & Risk and Fundraising teams to align information management initiatives with broader organisational strategies.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding SharePoint and the intranet.

About the role
Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.
You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.
To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.
Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the North East England or Yorkshire region, which includes North, South, East and West Yorkshire, Teesside, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. There will be occasional travel around these areas, and you may be required to travel at short notice for face-to-face meetings.
About the team
The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the eight SSAFA branches in the Northeast and Yorkshire, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a team 8, which includes a Regional Casework Manager and a Regional Manager for Casework and Community Engagement.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing, benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the Northeast and Yorkshire would be valuable.

About the role
As Finance Manager, you will lead the financial management and oversight of the programme, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial accounting, reporting, and oversight. You will work closely with the Programme Finance Manager, providing expert support across donor reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and cost recovery processes.
You will be responsible for producing financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders, including the Finance Committee, the programme management team, and global partners. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in developing financial controls, monitoring compliance with donor regulations, and supporting audit processes. We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused administrator to lead on the administration of the CLPE Learning Programme, which includes courses that take place both in person at the Centre and online as well as INSET training and consultancy delivered at other locations around the country. Our Centre houses an amazing collection of 25,000 children’s books as well as being a training and event centre for teachers, publishers and everyone else who works with children’s literature and cares about children’s literacy.

As well as working closely with our teaching team, responding to enquiries and bookings, and arranging logistics for courses and events taking place at the Centre, you might also be supporting our librarian with a book launch, welcoming our trustees to a meeting, or looking after a famous children’s author.

Essential:
- A professional qualification, bachelor's degree or equivalent level of experience in a relevant discipline such as social and market research methods, including approaches across the spectrum of qualitative and quantitative methods and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with different audiences. Including ability to communicate insight in an applied way so it is accessible and actionable.
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders, often with competing priorities, to gain agreement and preferably in relation to insight and research commissioning.
- Experience of identifying research and insight needs of stakeholders and translating a range of business needs into clear research objectives and research briefs.
- Experience of procuring, commissioning and managing research projects, including overseeing the work of third-party suppliers.
- Excellent project management skills, gained either through a recognised qualification or relevant experience.
- Understanding of research ethics, safeguarding and legal compliance.
- Experience of supporting colleagues to interpret and make sense of evidence, to help inform their decision making.

About the Role
The Governance Officer provides efficient, proactive and values led governance support to ensure that all governance work is achieved within set time scales.
Duties include

- Acting as liaison person for Board members (booking hotels, dealing with expense claims,responding to routine queries etc.);

We are looking to recruit a Digital Learning and Engagement Assistant to join our team based at our Midlands site. You will join us on a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31 December 2028. In return, you will receive a salary of £24,229.64 per annum.
The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire. Our Vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.
We have two public sites (London and Midlands) and a stored collection (Stafford). Our trading company and active fundraising supplement Grant in Aid which comes through the Ministry of Defence.
Travel between the Museum’s sites will be necessary from time to time as well as attending off site events, trade shows and training courses, which may require overnight stays.
Purpose of the Digital Learning and Engagement Assistant role:
As our Digital Learning and Engagement Assistant, you will inspire learners through sharing the stories of the RAF, its people and our collections. You will deliver across the whole programme of Access and Learning activities onsite, offsite and online; imaginatively using the RAF story to inspire engagement, debate and reflection.
Key responsibilities of our Digital Learning and Engagement Assistant include:
- Prepare and pack away session resources
- Support the delivery of a high standard of visitor experience
- Be fully active in the delivery of all elements of Access and Learning activities on site, offsite and online. This will include public demonstrations and presentations, class facilitation and tours
- Lead on developing content for the learning team’s social media channels, working with the Access and Learning London team to schedule and produce posts to market the educational offer
- Maintain relevant pages of the Museum website and produce promotional materials as required
- In a manner consistent with the Museum’s shared values, work with A&L staff and 3 volunteers and with staff and volunteers across departments to support innovative and engaging activities and resources which reduce barriers to learning
- Assist with the processing of A&L team bookings, producing accurate timetables for school activities and other events
- Collate data and report as required on areas including performance, targets and individual key tasks.
- Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Work to reduce operational costs and maximise resources whilst maintaining standards of products and services
- Adhere to Museum policies, procedures and code of conduct, to protect people and the Museum’s reputation, including GDPR, Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies and procedures.
What we are looking for in our Digital Learning and Engagement Assistant:
- Experience of delivering formal and informal workshops
- Experience of working with children
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of / interest in the history and current role of the RAF
- Knowledge of current H&S regulation including Safeguarding
- Knowledge of the educational context in which Museum learning takes place in the UK
- Knowledge of developments in and the potential of digital and online learning, including content creation for social media channels and website maintenance
