We are looking for a brilliant, organised and proactive person, a qualified accountant, to join our small and committed team working closely with the chair of Trustees to promote the smooth running of the charity, its grant-making projects and remote office (finance, bookkeeping, HR and IT systems etc). The post is for an independent worker comfortable working remotely. The anticipated hours can be arranged to meet both the charity’s and your needs.

Location: Home based with frequent travel to projects in Hucknall, Broxtowe-Aspley, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield and soon to be opening in Leicester in 2024.
As Regional Manager you will represent, manage and co-ordinate FoodCycle meals for your allocated regional Projects. Our Projects are spaces where volunteers are empowered to run their own community meals using surplus food. You will manage local relationships with venues, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable this to happen. You will continually be looking to increase our impact by working towards targets of increased meals served to our guests, expanding our existing Projects and setting up new ones within East Midlands.
An excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each Project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy. You will have experience of recruiting and managing volunteers, as well as programme development and delivery.
This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, to support with delivery as necessary, which will include evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.
Benefits: We offer 26.5 working days (this includes 3.5 days for the Christmas close down) plus additional holiday for length of service, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time). The Volunteer Coordinator roles are vital components of this project. We want to attract candidates from the East of England with sound local knowledge (who are able to travel around the area) both of which will be important parts of this job.
Purpose of the role:
- To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within one of the regional areas.
- Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups.
- Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.

Person specification:
· Degree in law, human rights, public policy, international development or another relevant field.

What's the role about?
You’ll be responsible for delivering business analysis support and insight (e.g. requirements engineering, business process modelling, organisational design, etc.) to projects and programmes across the UK that will support the RSPB 2030 strategy. As an experienced and proactive business analyst you’ll be used to working independently at pace with a number of projects and programmes, interacting with stakeholders across the organisation and effectively communicating your analysis using the most appropriate approach.
Key activities will include:
- Supporting the RSPB Transformation team in delivering business analysis to support key people-centric projects and programmes. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Requirements engineering,
- Business process modelling
- Organisational design
- Working with stakeholders from across the RSPB, you’ll manage and maintain their support throughout your business analysis
- Communicating and engaging with colleagues and stakeholders at a variety of levels. You will be confident in articulating your business analysis work in a number of ways and will be able to confidently engage Senior Management to drive and manage positive change
- Supporting the project and programme managers in developing robust business cases
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Experience of delivering high quality, focused and insightful business analysis to support a range of projects and programmes
- Experience of working with and influencing a range of stakeholders across an organisation
- Experience of effectively communicating business analysis findings and results using the most appropriate media and approach (written, spoken, visual, etc.)
- Experience of working within a standard project management framework e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, RSPB Project Management Framework
- Experience of working independently and as part of a wider team
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- A business analysis qualification – e.g. ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis, BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis – or an equivalent level of experience
- Experience of delivering business analysis for people and business change projects and programmes – although our projects sometimes have a digital technology element, our main focus is organisational, workforce and leadership transformation
- Experience of working within an agile project management environment
- Experience of managing a wider business analysis team, including volunteers and 3rd party suppliers/partners
- Experience of building robust business cases
- Experience of contributing to and sharing of business analysis best practice

- This is a 12 month Contract, Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week. Whilst the role is offered full time we are open to applications from anyone able to work at least 30 hours per week.

This is a critical senior role in the organisation, reporting to the CEO. The role is responsible for managing the organisation’s programmes across 3 locations in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia, managing 10 personnel. The position provides leadership on community-led investigations and evidence gathering and works closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) on critical areas including fundraising and strategic development.
The priority for this role is the safe and high quality performance of projects. The balance between ‘doing’ and ‘managing’ in this role varies depending on available resources for each project, and the ability to create competent teams to delegate to.

Package: Pay is dependent on location. The UK salary of £62,000 plus pension contribution will be converted using ICSC scales. All locations receive 28 days annual leave, counselling support and annual wellbeing days.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- The development and implementation of strategy and annual plans for the organisation’s direct programming, and its alignment with organisational strategy.
