The role

As Community Fundraiser you will manage and develop myaware’s community events and support in aid of fundraisers. You will create and manage corporate and community partnerships, alongside community volunteers, to achieve maximum fundraising income for myaware, working to agreed budget and plans, and assisting with budget and strategy creation when required.  There will be a requirement to manage records and relationships through the CRM system in line with GDPR.

The Community Fundraiser will be home based within the UK and will work in co-operation with all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising and awareness campaigns.  There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required. All evening and weekend work is agreed in advance. The role is part time, 2.5 days a week, we are open to discussion regarding the days to be worked. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use is desirable but not essential.

 Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience gained in a fundraising role within a charity with demonstrable experience of reaching new audiences and wider networks to develop new ideas for community involvement with innovative formats. Experience of working with and managing volunteers is essential.

We are a looking for an innovative self-starter to join our small national team of 16 staff. You must be well organised and efficient, with IT skills and experience of using a work-related database or CRM system. An excellent communicator with the ability to plan, prioritise, and work on your own initiative. Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor. 

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused adviser to support the work of the wider Advice and Support team

The right candidate will enjoy and excel at managing their own diary and workload and would have significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role along with the ability to show empathy.

The post holder will be responsible for Kent and Sussex plus other areas as required and therefore must have their own vehicle and access to reliable broadband. A car allowance and mileage will be paid on top of the salary.

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.

Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year.  Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million.  Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.

Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.

Main responsibilities

• Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
  • provide support and advice; and
  • determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
• Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
• Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents

We are a not-for-profit animal welfare organisation which campaigns for the humane treatment of decapod crustaceans such as lobsters, crabs, prawns, and langoustines, based on the scientific evidence of their sentience. Our campaign work was responsible for the ground-breaking inclusion of decapod crustaceans in the recent Animal Sentience Act of 2022, a move which has opened more opportunities to influence change.

Purpose

Reporting to the CEO, the Fundraising Support Manager will support the Fundraising Manager in the fundraising efforts of Crustacean Compassion. This will be  role building on two specific areas of work already undertaken, specifically reviewing, and supporting major donors’ proposals, and developing the supporter journey and engagement process.

The applicant will need to have an active knowledge and warm contacts with potential funders, be able to prepare and create proposals immediately as well as use CRM or external screening sources to identify and communicate with potential major donors. General Duties

• Develop and manage a rolling stewardship and engagement programme, including the use of online and in-person events where budget allows.

Individual Giving and Community Fundraising

• Review and develop the current supporter journey to lead a regular giving strategy, maximising unrestricted income and supporting donor uplift.
• Develop and implement a stewardship programme through the CRM database.
• With input from the wider team, develop and manage engaging appeals to be run alongside key campaign actions, monitoring their success, and updating activities where necessary, and evaluating performance to inform future appeal plans.

Person specification

Essential

• At least five years of experience working in fundraising, with a proven track record of securing five to six figure gifts ideally in the Animal Welfare field.
• Experience in developing non-profit fundraising strategies, particularly for Major Donors and in developing a supporter journey.
• Evident track record of successfully meeting and exceeding fundraising targets.
• Knowledge and understanding of fundraising, including research sources and funding criteria.
• Evidence of developing successful fundraising applications to institutional and individual grant funders, especially within the Effective Altruism community.

About the team

Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.

With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:

• creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
• sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and
• providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.

This role will mobilise, develop and innovate our existing offer into a new Peer Support Hub with the focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders. You will support and build our Kinship peer support community.

You’ll work with group leaders to develop a central hub of accessible and useful resources to help them to sustain their groups, working with colleagues right across Kinship to promote consistent access to services and activities (training, programmes, information, advice and campaigns), building a joined-up user experience.

About the role

The role of the Peer Support Hub Lead is to oversee and take accountability for sustaining kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model.

In this context, your team is the centralised ‘hub’ of the service, delivering an exciting programme of training, speakers, toolkits and resources to help peer support group leaders develop, build and sustain their group well.

Your national team of three will make sure groups feel connected and supported, learn from each other and build a powerful and resilient peer community.

The Role: 

As the Partnerships Officer, you will support the Partnerships Team on business development, managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, as well as researching new opportunities. 

Our places and volunteers are crucial to us. They know their communities best. This role will support our local Delivery teams to build new partnerships and grow our places. The role will also platform the voices of our volunteers to lead the development of our services.  This post will play a key role in the Partnerships Team. 

Your core responsibilities will consist of supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation in growing Volunteering Matters and its family of brands. Managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors; supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation with relationship management of major donors as well as developing and researching opportunities for business development with regional partners and stakeholders. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

• Support the Partnerships team and wider organisation to grow Volunteering Matters locally. 
• Manage a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, including leading on small trust applications & reports.
• Support the Partnerships Team with the management of major trusts, foundations, and donors.
• Play a key role in the upkeep of our library of information. 
• Stay updated on local opportunities and feed into place-based plan. 
• Develop and research opportunities for business development with partners and stakeholders including scoping opportunities and attending market engagement events. 
• Play a key role in the Partnerships Team, helping to collaborate with the wider directorate and organisation to create locally informed and systematic approaches to income generation. 
• Maintaining and actioning enquiries/information into team inbox 
• Support colleagues who are leading with events management for donor/patron & community fundraising events. 
• Supporting the Partnerships team and wider organisation to coordinate information required for reports to funders/partners. 
• Maintain database (Raisers Edge) with key reporting information. 

Experience / skills & attributes: 

• A commitment to the values and mission of Volunteering Matters, especially platforming the voices of our volunteers and young people, as determinant to our work alongside and for communities. 
• A pragmatism in understanding and working with the communities served by Volunteering Matters projects, and their respective local and third sector services. 
• An ability to support influencing of local and national stakeholders, by utilising the power of storytelling and advocating for the importance of local voice, when lobbying for social change. 
• Demonstrable awareness of the Third Sector and where relevant devolved responsibilities across the UK.
• Demonstrable experience in using the power of storytelling within the context of stakeholder engagement and / or business development. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with a range of stakeholders through a variety of means. 
• A capability to manage and engage relationships, including project reporting. 
• Evidence of good administrative and IT skills and the ability to maintain a fundraising CRM, administrative and financial records. 
• Belief in the Power of Communities with a desire to platform people and volunteers always. 
• Ability to engage in the process of business development, which includes bid writing, building operational partnerships and reporting on projects.

INTRODUCTION TO THE GLOBAL HEALTH WORKFORCE PROGRAMME

We are looking for 3 Administrative Assistants based in  1x Addis Ababa Ethiopia, 1x Hargeisa Somaliland & 1x Lilongwe Malawi

Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP) aims to develop the health workforce (HWF) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Somaliland supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards UHC.

Grants for UK-LMIC and cross-LMIC health partnerships will be awarded to respond to national HWF priorities identified through a scoping assessment carried out by THET with DHSC, FCDO, national Governments and stakeholders (such as local World Health Organisation offices). These grants will run until December 2025.   

With a strong focus on building local ownership and sustainability, these partnerships will contribute to the following programmatic outcomes:

1. Partnerships contributing towards improved health workforce leadership capacity aligned with health workforce strategies, that will support reduction in gender inequalities.

2. Partnerships aligning with and contributing towards retention and wellbeing strategies.

3. Improved number and quality of training opportunities for health workers.

4. Co-developed and documented learning on health workforce interventions shared with key national and international stakeholders.

THET will award 28-36 strategic grants of £100,000 – £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and outputs outlined above. The grants will broadly be split across the six countries; however, the exact split is dependent on the number and quality of applications received and broader priorities.   

20-28 smaller grants of up to £50,000 will also be available for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, diaspora engagement, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.   

Grants will be available to UK-LMIC health partnerships and LMIC-LMIC health partnerships. There are no institutional eligibility criteria as long as ODA rules are followed, so grants can be awarded to healthcare providers, royal colleges, universities, professional associations, NGOs, alliances, diaspora networks etc, but not to Ministry of Health departments.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service team providing Key Worker support across Somerset.

This is an exciting, remote working opportunity, to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11152 Stroke Association Support Coordinator (x2 posts)

Location: Home-based Somerset however, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £26,700 per annum

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025. Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2025

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

· Provide personalised information, advice and support.

· Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

· Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.

· Setting up and running support groups.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and hot desk with colleagues in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.
