The role

As Forward Action’s Partnerships Officer, you’ll support the Partnerships Director to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners, so we can help them achieve change on everything from climate change to refugee rights. 

In this fast-paced role, you’ll manage the administration side of our partnerships, from initial contact and briefing, through proposal management, all the way to issuing contracts and drafting scopes. You’ll work across multiple projects and deadlines, managing processes, organising meetings, following up action points, and keeping accurate partnership records. 

You’ll champion the partner experience and ensure we always deliver value. This includes meeting with organisations to explore their goals, and briefing colleagues on new partners’ needs. You’ll also lead on our marketing and webinar programme, coordinating plans and working with colleagues and freelancers to deliver outstanding content. 

This is a busy role with lots of opportunities to learn new skills, and you’ll be supported by a kind, open and inclusive team. We prioritise work/life balance, offering flexible working and a four-day week. As a Forward Action employee, you’ll co-own the company and share in its success. 

About you

You’ll have experience as an account manager or another relationship-based role in fundraising, events, sales or marketing. You might have worked in an agency or the NGO sector, but this isn’t essential. 

You’ll be highly organised, thrive on working quickly and efficiently, and have a sharp eye for detail. You’ll also be proactive, process driven, and an excellent problem solver who’s always keen to improve the way we do things. And as the first point of contact for many of our partners, you’ll be a great communicator who’s brilliant at building relationships.

Director of Service Transformation

At Kids, we're midway through an ambitious five-year strategy aimed at enhancing, expanding, and innovating our family support services. Working hand in hand with disabled children and young people, we're advocating for systemic reform while seeking sustainable methods to deliver our services. You'll lead efforts to uphold our exceptional service quality, driving the development of innovative support models that cater to families' evolving needs and can be financially sustained.

As our Director of Service Transformation, you will lead the exciting next phase of transforming our charity’s services to reach more disabled children, young people and their families. You will be responsible for sourcing and delivering contracts and partnerships essential for the charity’s sustainability by advancing our digital outreach and nurturing new partnerships and securing sustainable funds for innovative models of support. 

What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:

• Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families. 
• Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
• Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids. 
• Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services. 
• Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery.  Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability. 
• Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
• Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best. 
• Model and lead effective communications with all colleagues that bring to life the charity’s values and behaviours. Support colleagues to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles and practice are evidenced in service design and delivery. 
• Act as an ambassador for Kids on key platforms, carrying out media work as required; promote the charity’s products, services and work; and draw from services expertise to influence public policy and legislation relevant to disabled children and their families.

The Role: 

As the Partnerships Officer, you will support the Partnerships Team on business development, managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, as well as researching new opportunities. 

Our places and volunteers are crucial to us. They know their communities best. This role will support our local Delivery teams to build new partnerships and grow our places. The role will also platform the voices of our volunteers to lead the development of our services.  This post will play a key role in the Partnerships Team. 

Your core responsibilities will consist of supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation in growing Volunteering Matters and its family of brands. Managing a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors; supporting the Partnerships team & wider organisation with relationship management of major donors as well as developing and researching opportunities for business development with regional partners and stakeholders.

• Support the Partnerships team and wider organisation to grow Volunteering Matters locally. 
• Manage a portfolio of small trusts, foundations, and donors, including leading on small trust applications & reports.
• Support the Partnerships Team with the management of major trusts, foundations, and donors.
• Play a key role in the upkeep of our library of information. 
• Stay updated on local opportunities and feed into place-based plan.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Strategic Purpose:

· Coordinate the collection and management of data related to our projects, programmes, and initiatives.

· Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other systems to organise and track relevant insight and information.

· Conduct basic analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

· Assist in the preparation of regular reports, presentations, and dashboards summarising key findings and outcomes.

As Head of Marketing and Strategy you will lead the marketing team to produce robustly-planned, insight-driven, effective marketing campaigns servicing the needs of the organisation. You will be responsible for the brand and marketing strategy and making sure we’re achieving against our goals for the coming years.

Fixed term 12 months from July 2024, 35 hours a week

Location: Here East or another Scope office with flexibility to work from the office and from home. 

The role 

This role will be working on rolling out our new brand identity alongside the Head of Creative and Brand as well as delivering on a brand and marketing strategy and roadmap towards a large-scale brand campaign in plan.

You will dedicate yourself to making progress on established plans for the year and stay focused on achieving key milestones.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

• Demonstrable experience in a similar level Marketing role taking responsibility for a team.
• Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating brand and marketing strategies, operational plans and delivering campaigns which have created shifts in the awareness, engagement and income generating capacity of an organisation.  
• Strong leadership of a large team, leading by example and building trusted and positive working relationships with Directors, Heads and teams across Scope.   
• Experience with prioritising marketing activity by audience needs and making sure all activity is impact-driven and associates with our organisational strategy goals for the year.
• Knowledge and ability to join up many cross-organisational enabler projects across data, digital, fundraising and supporter journeys to help us reach our marketing goals.

You don’t need to have worked in a charity but the ability to demonstrate quick learning about specialist marketing areas through previous work experience will be vital for this role.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director is responsible for shaping and driving the work of the organisation, in line with its mission, vision, and strategic plan.

About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Innovation of the Peer Support Service.

• Develop and rollout peer support and community strategy and operational plan. 

• Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact tools for timely and accurate reporting of activity and engagement.

• Work with the Development team to develop proposals for the community and peer support which are ready for fundraising and business development.

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in scaling a national service or programme with high quality outputs. This includes overseeing delivery, strategic planning, budgeting, managing delivery, meeting KPIs, stakeholder engagement and reporting to funders.

• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.

• Experience of effective budget management.

• Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

About the role

You will provide key inbound referral management and administrative support to the Money & Energy Advisers and within our Patient Support Services team for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living.

To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with people living with kidney disease and affected by kidney disease, professionals and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day administration and allocation of inbound referrals into the Money & Energy Advice service across the region, effectively managing initial contact, appointments and assistance for food / fuel vouchers and other grant service administration.
• Update and maintain manual and computerised database and case management systems and records in accordance with the service’s internal policies/procedures and organisational standards.
• Collate and supply information and correspondence to internal and external contacts in accordance with required deadlines.
• Liaise with referring agencies to improve referral information and the general referral process for patients.
• Act as a gateway to local information and access to:
◌ Kidney Care UK patient grants programme, raising awareness of the programme and supporting applications.
◌ Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy service, to ensure patients have access to reliable and accurate patient information relating to kidney disease, patient pathways, models of care, and patient choice.
◌ Kidney Care UK Counselling service and other appropriate services to meet patients’ emotional and physiological needs.
• Work closely with local Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to ensure that patients receive expert advice in all areas of need, with smooth, effective handovers ensuring that patients feel supported and part of the Kidney Care UK ‘family’ at all times.
• Maintain records on the Kidney Care UK database to support service delivery and communications with patients, and to facility effective reporting to Kidney Care UK and to our funders.
• Raise awareness of Kidney Care UK and the benefit of its full range of Patient Support Services amongst people living with disease and affected by kidney disease and professionals across the region.
• Provide insight on patients’ concerns and unmet needs to inform Kidney Care UK research, campaigns, and new service development activity.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are a unique UK-wide activity that help businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity by making better use of the knowledge, technology and skills within universities, colleges and research organisations.

THE PROJECT 

The University of Essex in partnership with We are the Minories (WATM), an arts charity and gallery in a historic townhouse in Colchester, offers an exciting opportunity to a graduate with the relevant skills and knowledge to develop a data led and long-term strategic plan, to enhance WATM’s growth.

The associate will work with WATM’s managers and University of Essex academic supervisors to ensure WATM's sustainable and prosperous future while keeping their community ethos and values at the heart of their activities. This will be achieved through four key strategies:

1. Developing innovative solutions to evaluate and measure the social impact of WATM’s activities to enhance its success rates in funding applications.
2. Introducing business model innovations to support WATM in improving its income generation, such as through new product/service development (e.g., consultancy) and exploring additional income-generating activities like leveraging its physical space.
3. Enhancing WATM’s capabilities in managing both social and economic missions and supporting them in sharing their knowledge through consultancy to third-party organisations.
4. Developing marketing, operational, and financial plans to foster the sustainable growth of WATM.

This post is fixed term for 18 months.  

DUTIES OF THE POST

The duties of the post will include: 

• Conduct literature reviews and summarise findings for a non-academic audience.
• Design and develop a framework to measure social output, outcomes, and impacts of WATM's activities.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
• Develop and design data-driven and customer-driven strategies to improve the sustainability and growth of WATM
• Develop strategies for augmenting earned and grant income.
• Formulate and implement robust and well-informed marketing, operational and financial plans based on the collected data and selected strategies.
• Develop a comprehensive knowledge management plan, encompassing strategies for disseminating insights and best practices derived from the project.
• Manage activities, stakeholders and relationship building across diverse groups, including WATM’s board of trustees, art gallery/café visitors, artists, employees, volunteers, and wider community.
• Disseminate findings in scientific articles and conferences.

These duties are a guide to the work that the post holder will initially be required to undertake. They may be changed from time to time to meet changing circumstances.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• A first/undergraduate degree in Management, Business Studies or a related discipline, OR a first/undergraduate degree in a subject related to Arts and Humanities or nonprofit sector with business development experience.
• Excellent market research, analytical and problem-solving skills to generate insights and support evidence-based decision making.
• Knowledge and experience of qualitative and quantitative data analysis and proficiency with data analysis tools and methodologies.
• Experience of producing written reports in an academic context.
• Proficiency in strategic planning, business development and consultancy.
• Ability to formulate and implement robust and well-informed marketing, operational and financial plans.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships and facilitate training sessions.

We are looking for two individuals to help deliver an impactful GOALS service across London and build effective networks of support for people before, during and after treatment.

A main aspect of the role will be to support and work closely with individuals presenting with lived experience of gambling harm issues and/or people affected by this issue. The GOALS Supporter will understand gambling related harm and dependency issues and be able to ensure safe working environments and take a robust lead on safeguarding and harm minimisation procedures and policy.

The post holder will work with the Director of Support Services and GOALS Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of the systems and structure of the service, ensuring that governance and polices are implemented, safeguarding and safe working practices are systematic and develop a clear understanding of how the service integrates with the national gambling treatment service.

Other support activities will be developed, such as group support and weekly meet ups.

The post holder will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, deliver presentations and other promotions within community, education and health centres to help grow and develop the service.
