The Lay Ministry Officer plays a key role in the Mission and Ministry Team. The Orchestra Unwrapped Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Learning & Engagement Department, managing our flagship education work that supports our commitment to building a pipeline of exceptional and confident musicians. This role will involve on-site project delivery, representing the Orchestra with external partners and project participants, and facilitating our engagement with schools in London and across the Orchestra’s UK residencies of Bedford, Leicester, Canterbury, Basingstoke.

Progress to Change is a Leeds-based charity that operates two Independent Approved Premises (IAPs): Ripon House, a 22-bed facility for women, and Cardigan House, a 26-bed facility for men. These facilities serve individuals released from prison on licence, primarily those assessed as high risk, under the supervision of probation practitioners. The charity's mission is to assist and rehabilitate some of the most vulnerable members of society focusing on providing structured support and purposeful activities aimed at resettlement within the community. Progress to Change operates in close partnership with the Ministry of Justice and the Probation Service, and is a member of the National Approved Premises Association (NAPA).

The Lead Practitioner will play a key role in supporting the Approved Premises (AP) Managers in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and rehabilitation opportunities for residents. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Project Lead to manage and collaborate with an external development/implementation partner and coordinate the smooth adoption of Salesforce within the Charity.  This critical role will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning and requirements gathering to execution, testing, training, and post-implementation support. You will be the central point of contact for all project stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project.

 Main Responsibilities

• Work with the Director or Finance & Operations (DFO)  to invite tenders for and engage a development / implementation partner to support the adoption of this phase of Salesforce implementation
• Work with the development/implementation partner to develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Manage the execution of these plans, tracking progress, and ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with the implementation partner to gather and document business requirements from relevant team members to translate these into technical specifications.

Terms & Conditions

General

Day-to-day Site Operations

Bid Writer

Location: Remote with regular meetings in London; candidates must be based in London or surrounding areas 

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Working Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Join All Ways Network (AWN) and play a central role in empowering grassroots Muslim organisations across the UK by securing critical funding and expanding sector capacity. 

Role Summary 

As our Bid Writer, you will strategically lead AWN’s fundraising support to grassroots primarily Muslim-led organisations. You will help shape the service and act as the primary advisor on grant funding, deliver high-quality bids, and build AWN’s capacity to increase the flow of resources into underserved communities. This is a chance to directly contribute to lasting social change for underrepresented Muslim communities in the UK. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and support bid writing for grassroots organisations aligned with AWN’s priorities. 

• Write grant applications directly on behalf of multiple small grassroots organisations, ensuring proposals are tailored to each funder's priorities and the unique strengths of each group.

• Design and deliver training sessions, webinars, and 1-to-1 support on grant writing. 

• Build strategic relationships with funders, local councils, and second-tier organisations. 

• Promote AWN’s funding support services across networks and platforms. 

• Represent AWN at sector events and advocacy platforms. 

• Track and evaluate the impact of bid writing support to inform strategy, reporting, and learning. Use feedback from unsuccessful bids to build learning resources and improve future applications.

• Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting systems. 

• Any other duties deemed appropriate for the role. 

Person Specification 

• Demonstrated experience in writing successful bids or grant applications 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong understanding of the UK charity and funding landscape 

• Cultural competency and understanding of issues affecting UK Muslim communities 

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines 

• Experience of working in small and dynamic teams 

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, CRM systems and familiar with digital platforms 

• Experience delivering training or webinars 

• Established relationships in the UK funding or Muslim charity sector 

• Experience working in a start-up or small charity environment

This role is currently remote, and we are in the process of building a team in London. As such, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates based in London or the surrounding areas.
