About the Role

The Reconnect Worker works closely with the Deputy Prevention Services Manager and the housing team at Adur and Worthing Council, you will be responsible for setting up and running our new Reconnect service.  Through offering a structured support package including family mediation, you will help young people to return, or stay in, the family home, and where not appropriate we will enable young people to rebuild support networks vital to successful independent living.

You will work collaboratively with all Depaul colleagues and services across the region, as well as with external agencies, to build and maintain a caseload of clients experiencing family difficulties and at risk of homelessness. You will work with clients facing a variety of situations, including young people who are experiencing a breakdown in their family relationships and are experiencing homelessness for the first time, as well as those who have left their homes and are temporarily staying with our volunteer Nightstop hosts.

Key responsibilities include:

 

· Work directly with young people aged 11-25, and their families, who are experiencing family difficulties and at risk of homelessness, providing guidance, personalised family support and one-to-one and joint party mediation if appropriate.

· Carry a caseload of 15 – 20 clients per FTE for whom you will be the named keyworker.

· Process referrals from relevant agencies to build and maintain a full caseload of clients.

· Work in partnership with young people and their families to complete risk assessments, needs assessments and change plans and outcome questionnaires to work with them towards measurable outcomes.

· Build strong working relationships with all Depaul colleagues and services across the region, as well as other relevant agencies and local authority teams, to promote the service, build effective referral routes and processes and provide holistic support to young people.

· Maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records of all aspects of your work, in line with monitoring and evaluation processes and standard operational procedures.

· Work closely with statutory bodies and other agencies to support any relevant safeguarding procedures, advocating on behalf of young people and parents/carers when necessary.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Significant experience working with young people and families in crisis; reflective, creative and solution-focused in your approach and committed to working in an assets-based way.
• To hold or complete a Level 4 Interpersonal Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate (IMPC). Training will be provided if the candidate doesn’t have the qualification, but training will have to be completed before the end of the probation period.
• Experience working independently and managing own caseload; self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks and carry out efficient organisation and administration.
• Experience carrying out risk and needs assessments and support planning for clients.

• Ability to develop strong, collaborative and productive relationships with colleagues and key external agencies, promoting the value of our work and its impact on families.

• High-level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain impartiality.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Community Outreach Worker to provide high quality personal welfare support service to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse including those at the point of crisis. In this role the key responsibilities will be working within a multiagency framework to develop referral, joint working and information sharing protocol.

Youth Worker (School Transition)

We are looking for a Youth Worker to build trusting and collaborative relationships with vulnerable service users aged 10-12 years who are transitioning from years 5 and 6 into secondary school, to identify and address any potential risk factors that may impact on a young person’s transition. 

The successful individual will provide support to build the young person’s skills, confidence and resilience during this critical period to ensure they can engage positively at their new secondary school. This will include the delivery of targeted programmes, activities and 1:1 interventions that address the specific challenges faced by young people including, bullying, social isolation, special needs, academic pressures or mental health issues.  The support will be delivered to young people in person within a variety of settings including Faith based groups, schools and youth centers. This post will also work closely with the violence Reduction Unit (VRU) Peer Champion project.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of youth work, including with young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. The successful individual will have experience of delivering workshops and dealing with safeguarding issues. You will be a self-starter with the ability to confidently engage with schools and partners as well as to build rapport with young people and engaging them in activities leading to empowerment and raising aspirations.

The salary for 35 hours per week is £25,586.87 per annum

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and Southwest London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

At the heart of the hospice are our dedicated clinical staffs. Their exceptional commitment and professionalism is commented on by so many of the supported children and their families. 

It costs £10.5 million a year to maintain our current level of care. Only 30% of that income comes from government funding via the NHS or local authorities, so we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. We employ 175 staff, including 98 nursing and medical staff, providing hospice and community-based services to around 700 families.

Predominantly we work with families living in the Northwest and Southwest of London and Surrey, although will accept children outside these geographical areas if they do not have access to specialist palliative care support locally.  We have a reputation for delivering high quality care.  We have a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’

 

Introduction

Retail and Volunteers Team: Our Retail and Volunteers Team manages our charity shops and volunteer programs, which play a crucial role in supporting our mission. They recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to staff our shops and assist with various tasks, such as sorting donations and serving customers. Additionally, they oversee the operations of our retail outlets, ensuring that they are efficiently run to generate income for our hospices.

Part 1: Job Profile

a) Main purpose of  job

In the absence of the manager or assistant managers to lead a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures. 

Decision Making Authority

The post holder will be required to make decisions on the quality, and suitability of donations before they are placed on sale. Depending on the length of the cover period they may be required to dress the windows. (They will follow price guidelines and existing display layout throughout the shop.)

The post holder will work with eCommerce Manager to decide if items would be suitable for selling at a higher price on eBay or through a promotional event and set these aside for the manager of the shop to deal with on their return.

The post holder will support with rostering of the team of volunteers where necessary and delegation of duties and jobs.

• Ensure that the advertised trading hours of the shop are adhered to

• Process all donations as soon as possible, prioritising Gift Aid and high value items

• Prepare and clean items appropriately for display

• Oversee the recycling and arranging of collections

• Promote Gift Aid is at all available opportunities

• Ensure that the ongoing need for donations is publicised

• Price and ticket all items according to pricing strategy for the shop and ensure that all pricing and ticketing complies with legislation

The Supported Accommodation Kickstart Futures service. currently supports young people across the London Boroughs of Sutton and Croydon, who are living either in specified semi-independent properties or elsewhere in the community.

Location of the post:

 You will be community based, so you would be expected to support and travel where the young people live covering Croydon and Sutton.

Hours

Full time – 37 hours.

The Ideal candidate will need:

• Experience of working with looked after children / care leavers and understanding of the accommodation needs of care leavers.
• Knowledge and understanding of the specific needs of young people leaving the care system.
• Ability to listen to and communicate effectively with children and young people.
• Knowledge/understanding of the needs of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children and young people.
• Understanding benefits processes, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
• You will need to be a confident writer with analytical skills and experience in completing reports.

Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The delivery of 1:1 keywork support to care leavers that meets their individual needs. Frequency of key work will be dependent on the support package of each young person.
• Development and delivery of weekly group work programmes for care leavers.
• Assessing young people's needs and agreeing a support plan for each young person in partnership with the Personal Advisor. Each plan will have clear milestones and outcomes to be.
• Taking appropriate referrals for the service.
• Producing quarterly monitoring reports and attending quarterly contract meetings as part of the quality assurance framework.

History of Service:

The Kickstart Futures service has been established to provide support to Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers and young people who have been trafficked, aged 18-25. We also support care leavers who are not from a forced migration background. The service launched in June 2020, initially supporting young people living in 1 semi-independent property in Sutton. We are currently providing support in 6 semi-independent properties in Sutton and Croydon, as well as within different community settings. We expect this service to continue to grow, and to provide support across an increasing number of properties.

About the role:

This role is based in London and offers hybrid working both from home and our office in Singer Street. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate for Male Victims you will:

• implement effective ways of working with male victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
• provide a high-quality, front-line service to male victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• specialise and be leading practitioner for Male victims of domestic abuse; providing advice, guidance and single point of contact for a male victims

You will need:

The Person
We are looking for confident individuals to join us in this critical work in preventing ongoing sexual harm. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact, strong crisis management skills and skills in providing non-judgemental trauma informed support. In return we can offer you specialist training, support, supervision and the opportunity of working as part of a great team.

The Role
This exciting new role will be required to provide a range of early interventions for children impacted by sexual harm or sexual exploitation.

The post holder will conduct assessments, provide recommendations, provide time limited non-criminal justice advocacy and psychosocial education to support the needs of children and young people who have either experienced sexual harm or may have caused sexual harm to others.

Tasks include:

- To undertake risk and needs assessments (including specialist AIM assessment where required for children who have caused sexual harm) and undertake associated report writing and recommendations.
- To provide time limited non- criminal justice advocacy, psychosocial education and support to children and young people and their families who have experienced sexual violence/have caused sexual harm to others.
- To develop and deliver interventions based on individual needs of clients.
- Collaborate and support a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of those impacted by sexual harm to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
- Carry out institutional advocacy and stakeholder engagement and communication to enhance to wellbeing of all survivors of sexual violence.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of services.
- To support the group work facilitation of the delivery of psychosocial education in schools, colleges and community settings.
- Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events.

We have roles focused in Herefordshire and Shropshire, all role holders will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.

About the role:

This role is based at our Essex office and will require travel within the Essex area. As a caseworker, you will:

• Effectively manage a caseload of self-referrals or referred service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims.
• Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions
• Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. To follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.

The role

The Business Support Manager will lead the development and delivery of best quality, highly responsive business support services helping to ensure administrative excellence, smart systems and processes and fully compliant operations across the organisation.

You will be highly organised, efficient and proactive and have:

· At least 3 years experience in a relevant business support/finance administration role

Head of Healthy Active Children

Too few children in Oxfordshire get the opportunity to be active. We work with partners to tackle inequalities so that every child and young person in the county can have the best possible active start in life. 

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Active Oxfordshire, the successful candidate will lead the development and growth of our Healthy Active Children strategic work, build relationships with partners, line manage two members of the team and ensure our Healthy Active Children programmes of work complement each other.

About you:

 You will have experience in identifying strategic opportunities and the ability to develop and nurture relationships at a senior level in partner organisations.
As an experienced line manager, you will be able to bring people together around a specific agenda and create a sense of energy and purpose.

What we offer:

This is a fixed-term contract, initially for 18 months.  The role is a part-time position, working 3 days / 22.5 hours per week.
You will receive a salary of £27,810 (based on a 22.5 hour week, which is a full-time equivalent salary of £46,350) and benefits including a generous 10% contributory pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata) and our new bespoke Employee Support and Wellbeing Programme.
