About the role:

This role is home-based and requires regular travel within the Cumberland area, due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. As a caseworker, you will:

Effectively manage a caseload of self-referrals or referred service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims.

Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions

Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. To follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.

Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice this could include criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to service users.

You will need:

• Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or families
• Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities, inclusion and diversity
• Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner
• Understanding of confidentiality and safe working practices, in accordance with safeguarding and data protection legislation
• Ability to needs assess, risk assess and empathise with the victim
• Good IT and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages
• High resilience and the ability to work under pressure

The job holder will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships.

The role will focus on the outreach provision, being based in different locations across Salford including hospitals, community venues, mental health settings and others accessed by people with caring responsibilities. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will also support our involvement offer; ensuring carers are at the forefront of service change and service delivery.

TLC: Talk Listen, Change are looking for a Children and Young People’s Rapid Response worker to deliver a crisis service for children and young people aged 5-18 living in the Wigan area who have been arrested following the use of harmful and physically violent behaviours towards their parents / carers. The service is trauma informed, supporting young people to change their behaviour through work with both them and their families. The service will provide a rapid response for young people at crisis point working intensively with individuals and families for a short period of time, and work closely with youth justice teams and other services in the area.

In the role of Housing First Worker you will work 9-5 hours Monday Friday; working with a person centred approach to support clients in their own homes as well as in the community.

Job Description

Post Title: Young Women’s Worker
Location: The post will be based primarily at Kings College Hospital. However, all
Redthread team members must have a flexible approach to supporting other
sites across London when needed. There will be a need for regular visits to
Redthread’s main offices and other projects and activities that take place at
various locations across London and the UK.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s work means that regular
evening and weekend working is required. You will be required to work shifts
to ensure that the team covers from 7:30 am to 9 pm each day between
them.

Salary: £29.767,50 per annum + benefits
Contract type: 12-month Fixed Term, with the possibility of extension.

We have a vacancy for a Mental Health A&E Link Worker to join our team.

About the Project

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

Service Objectives

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Crisis services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by HMN and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in an individual’s mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis, to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

About the Role:

The Mental Health A&E Link worker will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in A&E, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide a consistent presence in A&E for individuals with mental health needs to access, as well as partner agencies, including A&E staff, integrated discharge teams, mental health liaison teams, CGL, Bounce Back, to refer into.
• To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely A&E discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
• To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
• To undertake assessments of needs and risk, devising crisis and risk management plans, and liaising with services, to facilitate referrals daily.
• To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
• To promote and raise the profile of Nightlight and other HMN services within the hospital to ensure greater community awareness of crisis alternative provision.
• To participate in daily check in meetings with Nightlight at 17:45 and 21:00 through Microsoft Teams, communicating appropriately and sharing information with staff following assessment and onward referral into the service.
• To develop relationships across both Bounce Back and Nightlight teams
• To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
• To record accurately and timely tasks done; utilising our client management system to capture the outputs and outcomes achieved, to monitor service impact.
• To represent Herts Mind Network at external meetings, and network locally to develop contacts, services and raise Herts Mind Network’s profile.
• To encourage a culture of continuous performance improvement at both an individual and service level.
• To build a service that is flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
• To work in partnership with Mind in West Essex and Mind in Mid Herts to ensure that the crisis alternatives pathway model is consistent across the Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS.
• To participate in training and development opportunities as agreed with your line manager necessary for the role and/or your own development as part of an agreed personal development plan.
• To contribute to reviewing the effectiveness of appropriate crisis interventions for all service users, including but not limited to, contributing to the co-development of the service by supporting service user, family, and carer involvement by obtaining feedback and supporting where necessary chances to be involved in wider service reviews.
• To act as a positive role model showing professional and caring attitudes and behaviour towards other team members, service users and carers.

Due to the expansion of the Supported Lodgings service across Nottingham, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing team. 

Supported Lodgings is the provision of accommodation and support to care experienced young people between the ages of 16 and 21, within a home environment (either with an individual or family).  Supported Lodgings hosts provide the support and guidance the young person needs to develop the skills for their move on to independent living.

We are looking to recruit to a part time post which will be based both at our office in Beeston and at home.  Working hours will predominantly be office hours during the working week, however there may be the need to work flexibly at times. The role will include travel, primarily within Nottingham City but also the local surrounding areas.   

The primary objectives of this post are:

• To support the expansion of the service within the new Ofsted requirements.  This will include recruitment and assessment of potential hosts.
• To promote the service in order to encourage applications from people who are able to provide supported lodgings accommodation.
• To train and supervise hosts.
• To publicise the service within the Local Authority in such a way as to encourage referrals for young people seeking Supported Lodgings accommodation, followed by careful and responsible matching of young person to host.

The St Mungo’s Pan London Rough Sleeping Teams (No Second Night Out and Somewhere Safe to Stay) provide a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. We are currently looking for people to join our teams as Night Reconnection Workers and Night Assessment Workers in our services. In these roles you will: 

• Work as part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by rough sleeping. 

• Provide a safe and supportive environment at night to clients; and support a team of Assessment and Reconnection Workers, with key tasks; such as implementing reconnection or assessment plans and supporting clients into appropriate accommodation.  

• Work on a 7 day weekly night rota pattern with an average of 3 waking night shifts in a row (for example 8pm–8.30am or 9pm–8am) 

About you 

These crucial roles will suit people with an interest in in developing key skills to build a career working in a support role, as well as:

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or customers in a busy service environment. 

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with others effectively to get things done.

You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.

These roles are based in our Victim Care Unit in Ashford. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or 12pm and 8pm. Shifts are designated on a rota basis and scheduled well in advance so you can plan ahead. You will be working within a supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.
