This position is responsible for ensuring fundraisers are able to establish and develop strong personal relationships with prospective donors in order to generate significant levels of philanthropic financial support for the University’s teaching, learning and research priorities. As the primary research professional they will enable high quality fundraising at various giving levels.
This position is also responsible for providing data sets and detailed research reports of alumni and stakeholders in support of targeted engagement and partnership-building initiatives, thus ensuring External Relations colleagues are able to achieve advocacy and volunteering goals and develop strong relationships with key contacts.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
Job Purpose:
You will be joining Women in Prison’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. We are seeking a passionate, dynamic individual to take on the role of Garden Community Hub Coordinator for our site in Tooting.
The role will involve supporting our garden move and coordinating the development of our site and provision in our new space. This will include working closely with the team to develop new projects delivered from the site and coordinating the transition of our operations. You will also oversee the growth and development of the Share Garden Centre, our customer-facing enterprise, enabling it to flourish. In managing the Garden Centre, you will ensure that it provides excellent training and work experience for our students as well as being the plant centre of choice for local people.
You will work closely with our Lead Horticulture Trainer and Head of Training to support the delivery of training and therapeutic activities in the garden. You will report into the Head of Volunteering and Community Services to ensure the smooth transition of the site activities into our new temporary building as well as planning our operations ahead of the move to our permanent new space. You will line manage our Project Support Worker and Cleaner, work closely with the garden team and across departments to develop and deliver our provision for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will ensure the space, activities and provision is a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for students, external members, and volunteers. You’ll be inclusive and person-centred in your approach at all times.

Main responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to plan, develop and deliver the projects at our Tooting site which includes our horticulture programme, student training, social enterprise, and garden
- Work closely with the Head of Volunteering and Community Services to plan the move to the new site and manage the transition period, including delivering updates and briefings to the garden team regarding the progress of the move and impact on staff and students
- Coordinate the day to day running of our projects and site, ensuring the best use of available resources and maximising opportunities for the development and delivery of new projects.
- Line manage our support worker and cleaner; coordinate regular team meetings and project staffing, and induct new staff and volunteers to the site
- Build and maintain relationships with like-minded organisations across South West London to expand opportunities for students, our social enterprise and garden project, and ensure the suitable growth of services. This includes, building new customer relationships with people visiting and buying from Share Nurseries

The Head of Counselling has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the clinical services, the recruitment of suitable counsellors, supervisors, and Strides HCC team to ensure the maintenance of high standards of service delivery.
The role is an integral part of Strides, working with the CEO and other Heads of services to support the continuous development and delivery of services in line with Strides’ strategy.
The main purpose of the role is to provide effective management and leadership of Strides HCC. The role focuses on the strategic development of the project, the financial management and financial sustainability of its operations, and the overseeing of all aspects of the clinical service delivery and clinical governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To be accountable for all aspects of clinical governance in the service, reporting back to the CEO as required.
• Organise and chair the steering group meetings, review minutes and report back on actions and progress.
• Responsible for ensuring service(s) meet contractual, funding and legal obligations as applicable.
• Conduct regular management / quality audits and provide management reports on performance.
• Contribute to organisational policy and procedure development.
• Produce and revise service-specific policies, and oversee their implementation across the HCC service.
• Accountable for ensuring robust information management is in place; supporting the continuous Strides' information management systems and utilising management information reporting to assist management oversight of performance and to inform service developments.

STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT
• Develop and embed deliverable annual plans for each service. Work with and support the other Heads of services and safety management are in place for all services, including delegating specific duties as appropriate in each service and the SLT in promoting the work of Strides.
• To sustain existing and develop new business for HCC by raising the profile of HCC and by identifying, engaging, and building relationships with new clients and other mental health services.
• Develop professional networks and partnerships with a range of key stakeholders to aid service development.
• Anticipate and develop strategies to resolve service challenges or risks involving appropriate colleagues.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
• To set an annual operational budget for each service in conjunction with service managers, finance team and senior management.
• Act as budget holder for designated area, responsible for monitoring and controlling assigned budget, taking corrective action where appropriate, and reporting as required.
• Work with service managers to ensure all financial and administrative processes are delivered to a high standard within policies and procedures.
• To identify possible sources of income, working with fundraising colleagues on sourcing funding for service development.
SAFEGUARDING
• Be responsible and accountable for ensuring HCC fully embeds excellent safeguarding practice and are fully aware of organisational safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Act as key source of support, advice, and expertise for safeguarding for the service.
• Together with the Clinical Manager act as points of contact for counsellors and supervisors in case of urgent clinical questions/issues.
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
• Create clear vision and objectives for service(s) under your leadership; empowering, motivating people to be fully engaged and participate in the work and provide high standard clinical service.
• Through line management responsibilities, develop accountable service managers with clear expectations and objectives, ensuring learning needs are assessed and met.
• To have regular, clear communication with direct reports and facilitate a ‘feedback loop’ to ensure your teams are fully informed of organisational decision making and updates and team members are provided mechanisms to feed into organisational developments.
• To ensure that staff operate at the level of competency specified for their posts; to coach, support and develop staff to enhance their levels of competency and to take effective steps to address underperformance.
• To work with service managers and HR team to ensure the best possible management of team members, ensuring all matters are managed in line with Strides policies and procedures.
• Line manage the Service Manager and the Clinical Manager, and the Clinical Supervisors.
• Monitor and support the work of Supervisors & organise and chair quarterly supervisors’ meetings.
• Together with the Clinical Manager, organise an annual seminar program for HCC Counsellors and Assessors.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To contribute to Strides’ overall strategy and business plan.
• To work collaboratively and contribute to positive working relationships with team colleagues, wider Strides colleagues and volunteers and to participate in reflective practice.

With a renewed, strategic focus on policy, this position will play a leading role in establishing a policy function that will enable us to be the definitive and credible home of student voice at LSE. A function which will become even more important when we enter the second stage of the strategy in 2026, when student voice will become the central strategic focus of the organisation.
Sitting within the broader Student Voice Department (alongside the Advice Team), you would lead a friendly, talented team of four permanent Student Voice Coordinators (SVCs) who together account for all of the Union’s policy, democratic, representation and campaigning work, alongside a part-time member of student staff.
Variety is hard-wired into the role. In addition to overseeing policy and research output, you would be responsible for leading a democratic and governance structure that is so innovative it is currently the source of an international academic study. Accountabilities here would include delivery of our biannual student elections and sector-leading Student Panels.
You would also be responsible for leading on how we support our elected student representatives and campaign groups; and for the Union’s academic representation work.
Given the breadth of work undertaken within the team, expect there to be plenty of opportunities to grow, develop and pick up new skills outside of the main responsibilities of the role.

Overall role of the Network Coordinator
The Network Coordinator is part of a small team comprising of the Director, Head of Policy, Network Coordinator, Communications and Policy Assistant and volunteers.
The Network Coordinator role lies at the heart of the network ensuring it functions efficiently while leading our activities to support our members in their work on gender equality and women’s rights. They work alongside women’s rights advocates and practitioners across a range of issues within the international development sector, while ensuring that the organisation runs smoothly.
