A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Multimedia Content Producer to join the Marketing Communications team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. This role will support the Senior Creative Lead & Design Manager and Head of Marketing & Brand to create, commission and produce a wide variety of creative marketing materials, focusing on photography and video assets.
You will work across all areas of SSAFA, so your creative talents will help raise awareness of crucial services, recruit volunteers, support fundraising initiatives and promote understanding of SSAFA’s work, this will allow you the ability to flex your content production skills to different audience types and a wide range of outputs. You will work from creative concept to asset completion and be able to lead on the development of our video strategy and planning. This is a new role within the organisation so you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of multimedia content, in particular focusing on video content strategy.
You will have access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software, and actively encouraged to develop your skills and proficiency in areas you may not have experienced, some skill in using other Adobe products such as InDesign is desirable, but not essential.
We are looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, bags of initiative, creativity and innovation. This role will offer plenty of variety - no two days will be the same - but you will need to juggle different creative projects, be able to prioritise, communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
About the team
You will be joining a well-established team of marcomms professionals, ranging from Designers to Case Study Managers. You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with photo/video freelancers as well as other internal departments, such as Fundraising or members of the volunteer network.
About you
To hit the ground running and carry out this role successfully you will have:
- A portfolio of video or photographic projects demonstrating; creative concept development, collaboration others/colleagues to produce creative assets.
- Demonstratable experience of planning and managing a pipeline of photo, video or audio assets, and working collaboratively and effectively to achieve engaging content that supports SSAFA achieving its KPIs.
- Demonstrable experience of organising a photo/video shoot, including briefing photographers, videographers or others.
- Demonstrable experience of creating compelling multimedia content that drives an emotional connection with the audience. You may have undertaken parts of this process such as crafting a storyboard and briefing the delivery, or you may have taken video footage to edit varying assets.
- Experience working with a marketing or communications team to support the creation and delivery of digital assets for active TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social media accounts, including knowledge of different digital and social media advertising format would be advantageous.
- Excellent skills in Premiere Pro (or similar)
- Some skill in other creative tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. would be advantageous.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines as needed.
- Experience of working in a commercial, public or not-for-profit organisation would be beneficial.

The Role
The PR Manager plays a central role, working closely with the Head of Media to manage the public relations function of the charity. QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities. This service supports adults with a wide range of needs to be active members of the community, increase their independence, develop their life skills and set themselves goals and achievements to work towards.
The post holder will be responsible for line managing the team who plan and deliver a broad programme of social and educational community-based activities. You will oversee the smooth running of the service and be responsible for quality assurance while ensuring the identified aims of the programme are met. You will also oversee all associated administration, the recruitment and management of relevant staff and volunteers, and contribute to the running and ongoing development of the service.

The Carer Poverty Alleviation Programme is a new Carers Trust programme under our strategic goal that no carer is pushed into poverty or is financially disadvantaged by their caring role.
The Programme Lead role is the fulcrum for this new partnership programme, will be comfortable to lead within and outside of the organisation and in developing a new team to drive the programme to success. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are a unique UK-wide activity that help businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity by making better use of the knowledge, technology and skills within universities, colleges and research organisations.
THE PROJECT
The University of Essex in partnership with We are the Minories (WATM), an arts charity and gallery in a historic townhouse in Colchester, offers an exciting opportunity to a graduate with the relevant skills and knowledge to develop a data led and long-term strategic plan, to enhance WATM’s growth.
The associate will work with WATM’s managers and University of Essex academic supervisors to ensure WATM's sustainable and prosperous future while keeping their community ethos and values at the heart of their activities. This will be achieved through four key strategies:
- Developing innovative solutions to evaluate and measure the social impact of WATM’s activities to enhance its success rates in funding applications.
- Introducing business model innovations to support WATM in improving its income generation, such as through new product/service development (e.g., consultancy) and exploring additional income-generating activities like leveraging its physical space.
- Enhancing WATM’s capabilities in managing both social and economic missions and supporting them in sharing their knowledge through consultancy to third-party organisations.
- Developing marketing, operational, and financial plans to foster the sustainable growth of WATM.
This post is fixed term for 18 months.
DUTIES OF THE POST
The duties of the post will include:
- Conduct literature reviews and summarise findings for a non-academic audience.
- Design and develop a framework to measure social output, outcomes, and impacts of WATM's activities.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Develop and design data-driven and customer-driven strategies to improve the sustainability and growth of WATM
- Develop strategies for augmenting earned and grant income.
- Formulate and implement robust and well-informed marketing, operational and financial plans based on the collected data and selected strategies.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge management plan, encompassing strategies for disseminating insights and best practices derived from the project.
- Manage activities, stakeholders and relationship building across diverse groups, including WATM’s board of trustees, art gallery/café visitors, artists, employees, volunteers, and wider community.
- Disseminate findings in scientific articles and conferences.
These duties are a guide to the work that the post holder will initially be required to undertake. They may be changed from time to time to meet changing circumstances.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- A first/undergraduate degree in Management, Business Studies or a related discipline, OR a first/undergraduate degree in a subject related to Arts and Humanities or nonprofit sector with business development experience.
- Excellent market research, analytical and problem-solving skills to generate insights and support evidence-based decision making.
- Knowledge and experience of qualitative and quantitative data analysis and proficiency with data analysis tools and methodologies.
- Experience of producing written reports in an academic context.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, business development and consultancy.
- Ability to formulate and implement robust and well-informed marketing, operational and financial plans.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and facilitate training sessions.
