We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East River's Trust's Finance and Operation's Team. The team supports the organisation with a broad range of financial and administrative tasks, to ensure its smoothed running, development and growth. The role would suit an individual with a financial background, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.
The role will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation. The successful applicant will come from a financial background and have a strong understanding of financial principles with an accounting qualification. They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses. Whilst this role focuses on the financial aspects of SERT, it will also play a key part in supporting with the set up of IT equipment, new financial systems and general IT queries, with help from our external IT supplier.
To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, have excellent communication skills and the ability to support and advise staff across all teams. They will need to have a positive attitude, be proactive and supportive in assisting the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required. This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week working in the office in Leatherhead.

This is a full time position, however part time working of 4 days per week (0.8FTE) would be considered.

Avon Wildlife Trust is looking for a Finance Officer to support their small Finance team and provide an accurate, efficient and professional finance service across the Trust.
This role would suit someone who has had experience in a similar finance role. You will be responsible for processing a variety of transactions including purchase and sales invoices, staff expenses, gift aid and finance queries. Working with a passionate team in a friendly, dynamic environment where everything we do supports our teams who are delivering for nature and wildlife.
The successful candidate is likely to enjoy being busy with a variety of tasks, being well-organised and with good attention to detail.
Overall Purpose of Job
To support the provision of an accurate, professional and efficient finance administration service.
Main Responsibilities
· To input and process finance data on a daily basis, using the finance system (currently Xledger), Excel, and CRM and other relevant systems, to maintain accurate and up to date financial records for the Trust and Folly Farm Centre.
· To support the Financial Controller and Accountant in the provision of accurate and up to date financial information.
· To provide cover if required for general administration, including telephone, reception and general enquiries.
· Attend regular team meetings and make a positive contribution to delivering an excellent finance service.
· To undertake specific ad hoc tasks as required.

About the role
This role will contribute to the achievement of the “Forest for the Future” and CAR programmes objectives by monitoring project implementation against objectives, providing comprehensive support to the L&L team, and directly supporting partner NGOs involved in the projects.

Person specifications
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and/or interest in forest governance and human rights, particularly in Central Africa. They should have experience and/or interest in providing project management support within a charitable organisation or in an international development context, as well as collaborating with local NGOs in developing countries. Additionally, they should have experience and/or interest in managing development project budgets, monitoring expenditure and processing payments.
Basic understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), project work plans, and logical frameworks is necessary, along with proficiency in producing high-quality financial and narrative reports.
The candidate must demonstrate the capability to manage projects in accordance with the requirements of institutional donors and contribute to strategic project development, including project design and the creation of funding proposals.
Furthermore, the successful applicant must be fluent in both written and spoken English and French.
They should also be willing to undertake travel for up to 16 weeks per year, including visits to remote forest areas.
