Avon Wildlife Trust has exciting plans for nature’s recovery in the Bristol and Bath city region. We want to create and restore habitats, enable people to take action for wildlife, and secure more land for nature in our local area.
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising who can galvanise support for our work from funders and donors, develop a high-performing fundraising team, and support colleagues in developing fundable projects to restore habitats, engage people and bring wildlife back. Overall Purpose of Job
To grow the Trust’s income to enable us to achieve our vision of restoring the abundance of wildlife throughout our area
Main Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the Trust’s fundraising, overseeing development of prospect pipelines and growing income year on year from membership, major donors, individual giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, grants and charitable trusts, ensuring that the Trust achieves its restricted and unrestricted income targets
• Inspire funding support for the Trust’s work through relationship-based fundraising with major donors, corporates and grant-making bodies
• Enable delivery colleagues to secure funding for their work, supporting the development of fundable projects and high quality bids and securing continuation funding
• Stimulate growth in individual giving from members and non-members through the development and implementation of an ambitious plan incorporating supporter development, recruitment and retention.
• Ensure fundraising systems are working effectively and all activity is compliant with the Trust’s policies, fundraising guidelines from regulators, and all relevant legislation, including Data Protection and Health and Safety.
• Manage an integrated functional team across fundraising, contribute to the direction and development of the Trust as a member of the leadership team and undertake other duties in line with the role as requested
We want to see nature restored on a grand scale across the Avon region. We have big plans between now and 2030 to see this happen.

About the role
Working as a member of the Employment Team you will engage on a 1:1 basis with our employment programme participants, establishing and maintaining excellent relationships to understand and meet their individual needs. You will develop personal action plans which enable movement of these people towards and into further sustainable employment. You will work in a friendly, busy employment team environment to ensure programme performance targets are consistently achieved to meet requirements of the allocated contract.
This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service
A bit about you
We want someone like you with the confidence to positively engage and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds. In your role you will work closely with the local community and employers, supporting referrals onto the programme and identifying employment opportunities. You will enable participants to develop valuable work based skills and gain knowledge. Your role will require you to be supportive and understanding, be able to deal with any issues that may arise confidently. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to adapt them pending on what you are dealing with, communicating at different levels as key in this role.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, talented and ambitious individual to join our growing Development team. This role is an opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the environment looking for a next step in their fundraising career. The role will be responsible for supporting other team members with large grants as well as managing and growing their own portfolio of trust and foundations capable of giving at five and six-figures.
The role will support donor management including donor reporting and stewardship and will help coordinate fundraising events. This is a truly varied role with an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of fundraising.
The successful candidate will report to the Development & Partnerships Lead, and will also work with and support the other members of the Development team to deliver our fundraising and development priorities across all funding streams, including our Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors and Institutional/Government funding.

Transition Together is seeking to continue the work of deepening connection and growing the voice of the Transition Movement in England and Wales through the freelance engagement of three Network Weavers. This exciting project will see this team, supported by Transition Together staff, co-design an in person Transition Assembly early next year to guide the future of our Movement in the UK as well as build relationships with Transitioners across Wales and England and connect to emerging and established networks across the UK. These roles will be around two days a week for 10 months and the deadline to apply is 13 May.
