The Role

We are seeking to appoint an Outreach & Admissions Officer who will work to increase the numbers of strong applicants to the College and University from underrepresented backgrounds, and support them in applying to Cambridge. About Khulisa: 

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. The Regional Engagement Officer (REO) for Northern Ireland will build and strengthen SOFT UK’s presence in the region. London Borough of Camden

This is an exciting opportunity for a Family and Volunteer Support Worker to deliver a volunteer support service for new parents and their families during the perinatal period across the London borough of Camden in the Parents Matter Perinatal Family Support Service.

This service provides a programme of support for pregnant women and new parents which includes volunteer face-to-face befriending in the home and community as well as support by phone and video. The aim of the programme is to increase the resilience and emotional wellbeing of new parents who are experiencing isolation and low-level mental health issues

The Family and Volunteer Support Worker will work closely with the Team Leader and other antenatal and perinatal Support Workers as well as in partnership with Children’s Centres/Family HUBS, midwifery, health teams and mental health services.  You must be able and willing to travel regularly around London Borough of Camden.

We are seeking a Network Support Lead (London & South East) to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering Doorstep Sport offers and support for the network of Locally Trusted Organisations based in the region who support young people from low-income communities to be (more) physically active.

The role involves:

• Working closely with the Network Support Team and the London & South East Place Team to implement regional plans, which ensure that projects, offers and support to Locally Trusted Organisations (LTOs) are effective
• Overseeing and directly delivering a range of workshops and courses, creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, interactive and enjoyable learning environment in all delivery
• Delivering support to the workforce within Doorstep Sport beyond the workshop environment through CPD groups, bite-size learning and other opportunities for improving practice
• Co-ordinating the gathering of monitoring and evaluation information for funder reports, in relation to outputs and outcomes of projects delivered across the region/nationally

About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager (RCM) to join the Scottish Regional Office of SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity. 

You will be part of the regional office team, managing two Regional Casework Co-ordinators and two Casework Administrators. The team provides specialist administrative support and act as a single point of contact to SSAFA branch-based volunteers ensuring that SSAFA beneficiaries receive consistent, timely, and high-quality service. The RCM role will involve developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  Additionally, the RCM will occasionally assist the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and triaging initial client enquiries.

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working closely with a dedicated team under the guidance of the Regional Manager.

The position is home-based, but you will occasionally be required to travel within Scotland or to other locations.

About the team

The Scottish Regional Office operates as a "virtual" office, supporting 17 SSAFA branches across Scotland as volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will join a support team that includes two Regional Casework Co-ordinators, two casework administrators, and a Regional Manager. All team members are homebased.

About you

To excel in this role, you should have a solid educational background and experience in managing employees, as well as overseeing and reporting on service delivery.  You should have a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be advantageous.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of learning a computerised case management system quickly. Additionally, you should be skilled with numerical data.

The successful candidate will be capable of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision and have considerable experience of managing accounts.

It would be desirable to have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector would be valuable, and the military charity sector landscape across Scotland would be beneficial.  Commitment to SSAFA’s values including equality, diversity and inclusion is essential.
