The mass participation team regularly raises just under £2m. We require someone ideally who has experience in this area already or someone with strong transisitional skills. The successful candidate will lead on mass participation events ensuring an excellent level of service is maintained to maximse fundraising income.

The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive gold standard care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.

About the role

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Engagement team as our Legacy Fundraising Officer. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will working flexibly between home and our office in King's Cross, London.

Over a third of Sense’s voluntary income comes from gifts in Wills. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and delivery of the legacy marketing programme for existing and new supporters, in order to increase income from legacies and maintain and grow .our pipeline of legacy prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• To work closely with the Legacy Manager and Head of Individual Giving & Legacies in shaping and delivering the legacy marketing and administration programme to achieve annual income targets and other KPIs.
• To manage the delivery of legacy marketing projects from conception to delivery and evaluation in conjunction with the appropriate team members.
• Negotiate project costs with key suppliers to ensure projects are as cost-effective as possible.
• To actively participate in planning and review meetings with the Legacy team and other colleagues and key suppliers, and maintain a thorough understanding of latest developments, current trends, and legislation as it applies to the fundraising and legacy landscape.
• To project manage the development and delivery of legacy marketing activities across a variety of media to acquire new or steward existing legacy supporters to Sense. 
• To manage the annual legacy ‘Remember A Charity’ campaign raising awareness of legacy giving among internal stakeholders, their networks, supporters and the public

Key skills and experience

• Proven experience of managing all aspects of the delivery of successful fundraising direct marketing campaigns in a charity or not-for-profit setting from inception stage to post campaign analysis.  
• Self-starter and highly organised with an ability to work systemically to targets and deadlines.  
• Demonstrable experience of supporter acquisition, retention and development of supporters.
• Confident with data selections / segmentation and campaign analysis principles.
• Ability to confidently manage all stages of direct marketing based fundraising campaigns across a range of media including Telephone, Direct Mail, Email and SMS to deliver successful fundraising campaigns. 
• A good eye for design and a proven creative flair, with some copywriting / editing experience and an impeccable attention to detail.

The Role

Reporting to the PR Manager, the role will help deliver key media campaigns that call for change to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke.

Key responsibilities will include:

KidsOut’s core mission is to provide support designed to improve emotional, educational and social outcomes for children and young people who are facing numerous adverse childhood experiences associated with domestic abuse, poverty, family breakdown or ill health. We do this by providing joy filled experiences, practical and emotional support, and facilitating therapeutic or educational initiatives that strive to empower each child or young person to overcome adversity, unlock their full potential, and flourish in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

KidsOut’s support is offered to every child in a Women’s Aid refuge and over 100 independent refuges as well as children and young people  experiencing crisis and challenge from some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged communities across the UK.  Many of the 70,000 children and young people we support have undergone traumatic experiences, which can cause significant harm to their psychological development, their emotional wellbeing, their school life and their relationships.

We aim is to restore some normality and provide comfort to these traumatised children and young people though our programme of wellbeing amd educational activities. Our multi-faceted activities include fun days out, music, sport and art workshops as well as delivery of our bespoke Toyboxes to every child arriving at refuge. Additionally, for young people struggling to cope with their mental health we collaborate with regional partners to offer face-to-face sessions that offer specialist support and coping strategies to build resilience and improve emotional wellbeing.

In your role of Trust and Partnerships Officer you will be actively involved in the provision of these positive initiatives by applying your excellent research and relationship management skills to help develop a pipeline of income from charitable trusts and corporate foundations with the potential to support our wide range of projects. You will identify and develop compelling applications to secure funding through various funding sources, that not only contributes to the financial team target but makes a difference to the UK's most vulnerable children.

The key responsibilities of this Purchase Ledger Officer include:

CEASE (the Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation) is a national human rights charity. Our mission is to expose and dismantle the cultural and commercial forces driving all forms of sexual exploitation in the UK. Sexual exploitation does not occur in a vacuum, and only by addressing the wider context can we hope for real, lasting change.
As a charity, we join the dots between our hypersexualised, objectifying, pornified culture and public attitudes and behaviours towards sex:
• We demonstrate how the mass consumption of online pornography depicting the humiliation, violation and degradation of women and children has realworld consequences.
• We shine a light on the widespread exploitation and harm caused by commercial sex industries that undermine our human rights.

We are neither a religious nor an ideologically driven charity but seek to bring together a broad alliance of groups from many backgrounds around a common stance. We are looking for a Digital Content Officer to join us at CEASE (Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation). Our client Peter Bedford Housing Association (PBHA) is a housing association with charitable aims that create positive change in people’s lives. As well as homes and support, PBHA empowers people to learn, access work and discover their creative talents. Based in Hackney, Islington and Newham, PBHA work with people who are homeless, have mental ill health, learning difficulties and multiple needs. PBHA’s work enables people to move on and lead independent lives.

The role:

Housing Officers work within PBHA’s Housing Team to provide a quality housing management service to tenants with additional tenancy sustainment needs. Post holders will work from PBHA’s main office in Haggerston, with access to local offices where appropriate. However, most of the work will be in tenants’ homes in the community. The post holder will be issued the IT equipment necessary to facilitate mobile working.

Aims of the post

Housing Officers work with vulnerable tenants to enable them to sustain their tenancy and participate in their community.

Specific Responsibilities

• To be responsible for working a caseload of tenants within a locality.

• Identifying individual tenancy needs through assessment and an identified Housing Plan detailing risks, needs and move on plans.

• Regular contact with tenants as per plan.

• Provide a weekly housing management drop in at PBHA’s hubs.

• Ensure that tenants apply for benefits where eligible, and signpost tenants to information on how to maximise income

• Record and monitor any breaches of tenancy agreement and work proactively and within procedures to resolve them.

• Liaise with housing officers, the finance and adult learning departments to provide effective prevention and management of rent issues, escalating where necessary in accordance with arrears policy and standard operating procedures.

• Liaise with colleagues to ensure void targets are met and properties are let within agreed timescale.

• Assist in the moving in/out process.

• Ensure tenants understand their rights and responsibilities in their occupancy agreements.

• Deal with complaints, nuisance and tenancy disputes as they arise. Work with tenants to promote self-help and mediation approaches to dispute resolution and address and escalate in line with procedure.

• Inspect and order furniture, assisting tenants where they are able to do so.

• Recharge former tenants where applicable.

• Carry out regular building inspections, helping tenants to report repairs.

• Take pride in PBHA’s property and assets and encourage tenants to do so.

• Enforce the conditions of tenancy that enable PBHA to undertake urgent works such as gas servicing.

• Carry out H&S and fire checks and assessment, liaising closely with others to ensure that follow up actions are completed.

• Report safeguarding concerns as appropriate.

Customer Focused Services

• Promote and support tenants/participants to access PBHA’s participation and co-production opportunities.

• Adhere to lone-working procedures.

• To positively promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice.

• To have a collaborative and co-operative approach towards resolving complaints, working with colleagues across teams and departments.

• To take collective responsibility for any shortfalls identified through complaints.

• To act within the Professional Standards for engaging with complaints as set by the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Team Responsibilities

• Providing a reception service at the office.

• Involvement in the selection and induction of new workers and volunteers.

• Taking part in planning the team’s work and the annual plan.

• Ensuring that proper records are kept and information is passed to other team members as necessary.

• To ensure that PBHA’s computerised and manual systems are accurately updated specifically in relation to contact with tenants and service users.

• To meet required standards and contract compliance o commissioning bodies where PBHA delivers a service.

General Responsibilities

• Participate in key meetings

• Contribute to policy development, income generation, strategic and annual planning, corporate and cross-team activities, external partnerships and promotional activities as required

• Promote, develop and support PBHA’s ethos, values and impact

• Provide cover for other managers and workers

All staff are expected to:

• Work co-operatively as part of a team and with other teams

• Be involved in the selection and training of new workers and volunteers

• Participate in staff training and development activities, staff supervisions, appraisals and all relevant meetings

• Ensure the observation of all PBHA’s policies and practices, including those relating to equality and diversity, data, health and safety, financial control, standing orders, sustainability, recruitment, supervision, appraisals, sickness and disciplinary

• Plan and organise own work with a minimum of day to day supervision

• Undertake all other reasonable duties

General Information

• Postholders must recognise the needs of the organisation to adapt the role and responsibilities of the postholder as is necessary.

• All PBHA work premises are non-smoking. 

Access Information 

The post is based at our Hubs. The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users. Clissold and Isledon Hubs have step-only access. The role involves travel within Hackney and Islington and working in tenants’ homes.

Accountability

The post holder is accountable to the Housing Coordinator (Supported Housing).

Main Conditions of Service

This is a part-time position. The post is for 18.75 hours per week. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays. Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period. PBHA implements Agile working practices which are to be negotiated with the line manager.

Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year (pro rata) plus normal bank holidays pro rata (inclusive of bank holidays). This will rise after each completed year of service to a maximum of 30 days (pro rata).

Salaries are revised each year. The starting salary for this post will be £30,285 pro rata (SCP 8-12).

The post holder will be auto enrolled to be a member of the organisation's contributory pension scheme if eligible.

In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months).
