About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.

Purpose of Job

The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will be responsible for:

• Nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors

• Sustaining and developing our group of individual and community-based supporters.

• Growing income, including regular giving, donations, appeals, legacy giving, community groups and other fundraising activities.

We are looking for a strong communicator with some experience of fundraising who is keen to develop their career in this area.

This post can be undertaken on a hybrid working basis with some days home-working and some days working in IKWRO’s offices.

Founded in 1980, ELF has been raising money to fund improved facilities, better equipment and research at the haematology ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.  Today we are the leading patient-led support organisation for families affected by blood cancer in the Southwest and we also now provide transport and counselling services.

Like many charities, we had a couple of difficult pandemic years which affected our fundraising activities.  However, through careful stewardship and the commitment of our staff and volunteers we are positive about the future, the importance of our work and the impact it has on the people we support.  We are now looking for an experienced fundraising professional to become our new Development Manager. 

We will need you to support the development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy, with focus on individual giving, legacies and grants.  You will have a track record of engaging with stakeholders and be able to develop a strategy for increasing income through individual giving.

Project development
Work with partners and volunteers to enable two or more rural  Sanctuary Breaks per month (events, day trips or residential visits)

Maintain and further develop partnerships with refugee sector agencies in the target areas, 
Network with local individuals and community groups and create partnerships as needed to promote a welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the area
Recruit and support volunteers to deliver the service

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

The Senior Grants Officer (Business Development) will join ClientEarth’s thriving and growing Business Development team. A key role for securing new grant income, the postholder will play a crucial part in the research and cultivation of potential new funder relationships, and will develop and submit winning funding proposals to trusts, foundations and institutional donors. 

They will manage their own portfolio of prospective funders, and undertake detailed prospect research into the foundation donor market whilst liaising with ClientEarth’s global teams across different programme areas and geographies. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, they will identify potential alignment with ClientEarth’s strategic priorities and inform decision-making in relation to funding opportunities. 

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Alex Wright. A fundraiser for over 12 years, Alex previously worked for a range of national music charities and is a trustee of two arts education charities. As part of the Business Development Team at ClientEarth, he manages the cultivation of new relationships with trusts and foundations in the US and securing new grant income. Alex joined ClientEarth in 2024 and is based in our London office.

Main Duties

• Prospect research and pipeline development - Proactively undertake research to identify, qualify and prioritise new funding prospects/ opportunities to support the build of a pipeline of high quality leads to guide future fundraising efforts; 
• Business Development and Income generation  - Draft clear and compelling written fundraising materials including cases for support, funding proposals, and concept notes;
• Systems and processes - Provide timely and accurate information to the Business Development Manager on funding opportunities in their portfolio and progress with workplan, as requested, to enable accurate monitoring and reporting to the Head of Business Development;
• Understanding of ClientEarth’s programmes and funding needs 

Role requirements

• Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English 
• Experience of working in a fundraising or business development role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity; 
• Experience of drafting compelling and successful proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions and securing multi-year grants, ideally at the six-figure level and above; 
• Experience of supporting the relationship development process with a new donor, from prospect research through to ask.
• Strong project management skills to lead the proposal development process to meet funder deadlines, including stakeholder management;

As a Support and Advocacy Officer you will join a skilled team who collectively provide a unique UK-wide support and advocacy service to over 1500 members. 

You will primarily provide direct support and practical guidance to our Fabry members.  This patient group is largely adult focused but there will be elements of family and child support. • Minimum of two years’ experience of working with individuals with disabilities within health and social care, education, or related field
• Ability to communicate accurately, concisely and with clarity
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding best practices
• Excellent IT skills to maintain accurate case recording, produce clear reports, correspondences and presentations
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a small, dedicated team
• Experience of managing projects and service development is advantageous

Prior knowledge of Fabry Disease is not required as in-depth support and training will be provided.  Regular supervision and a supportive work culture will help you to expand your knowledge and become an expert in the work you are undertaking.

The MPS Society is a charity that provides a range of care, support and activities for children and adults at risk throughout the UK. This is provided through our dedicated support and advocacy service, telephone helpline and out of hours’ support, clinical research, online activities and forums, annual events, patient expert meetings, focus groups and conferences. MPS staff, trustees and volunteers may be asked to be involved in the delivery of its regulated services and activities.

This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.  Due to the sensitive nature of the duties undertaking, the post holder will be expected to undertake a DBS check as part of the recruitment process.

This post is primarily based in our Amersham office however UK wide travel is necessary. A flexible approach to working hours to cover travel, our out of hours phone service, and events and conference attendance is required.

The Partnership and Development Manager will partner closely with the COO to influence the trajectory of London Seminary's future. Furthermore, you'll work alongside the Principal to spearhead the implementation of innovative initiatives aimed at raising awareness of our mission and outreach efforts.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in researching and identifying fundraising opportunities with trusts, foundations and supporters
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
