Main purpose of post  

The main purpose of this post it to work alongside the Events Manager and Fundraising team to help deliver a range of charity events, both Weston Park Cancer Charity led and third part events, throughout the year. This will also involve seeking out new opportunities and events that the charity can get involved with in order to continually grow the events portfolio year on year.

This Role will also involve working closely with our supporters, especially those attending/taking on an event for the charity by providing a high level of donor care.

We are looking for someone with a passion for events and the charity sector, and the ambition to help continually grow our event generated income.

What you do  

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the Events Manager to plan, organise and deliver the Weston Park Cancer Charity key events across the year including: Doncaster Race Evening, Golf Days, Walk as One and Sing Under the Stars.

• Work with the Events Manager to deliver third party active events including: Skydive, Yorkshire Three Peaks and Great North Run.

• Provide support as well as lead on other events that the charity may be involved with throughout the year including hospital engagement events.

• Work with the Events Manager to continually develop the charity events portfolio for 2025 and beyond

• Provide high level donor care to support donors on their ‘journey’ for those taking on an event for the charity, through exploring opportunities to feel connected and enthusiastic about the work that we do. This will involve welcoming supporters, sending them good lucks and following up with them post event to see how they got on.

• Work closely with our fundraising platform, Raisely, to give our supporters the best stewardship journey possible.

• Seek new event opportunities that Weston Park Cancer Charity could partner with or be involved in.

• Keep up to date with current event trends

• Represent the charity at charity events across the region and the UK

• Understanding the opportunities for developing new relationships as well as retaining existing ones.

• Working on agreed targets and objectives to increase both awareness of the charity, and funding to maintain it’s vital services.

• Working as part of a supportive fundraising team to positively promote Weston Park Cancer Charity within South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.

• Support the whole fundraising team with innovative and creative ideas for income generation that make us stand out from the crowd.

• Ensure that all communication and interaction with donors is captured through the Fundraising database CRM System and that all donors are thanked timely and efficiently.

• Apply the guidance provided by the Fundraising Regulator and Institute of Fundraising or any fundraising governing bodies to any fundraising activity

• Providing support for fundraising initiatives, campaigns & events during the year

• Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an active, invested member of our team

Haven House Children’s Hospice supports hundreds of families, looking after children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities. SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.

Much of the charity’s income comes from our motivated and passionate supporters, so this role is a key part of income generation. The successful candidate will be able to build on current processes and successes to grow our engagement across all fundraising activities, platforms and campaigns. We have a grand opportunity for someone looking to grow their charity experience - As our Fundraising Officer, you'll generate income by creating exceptional written applications and reports. To do this, you'll dive into research, keeping tabs on all fundraising opportunities, as well as crafting strong grant proposals, which is a key aspect of this role. Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator

What the job involves

We’re looking an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our high performing Events and Community Team. The team are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.

Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:

• Our own events (e.g. March for Men)
• Virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)
• Third party events (e.g. London Marathon)
• Golf Days
• Helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity

You’ll be supporting our third-party events programme and be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin support for our registration processes and support fundraisers through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.

Whilst third party events will be your primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also get the chance to work across teams to provide support where needed during busy periods of activity.

This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Enthuse. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.

You’ll also work with our Communications teams supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

You’ll have the drive and eagerness to provide crucial support to our sector-leading programme of activity which generated £12.9M of income in 2023-24. Main Responsibilities

You will be naturally curious, motivated to get under the skin of the charity sector and really understand what makes our supporters tick. While experience working in a dedicated innovation role isn't necessary, experience using tools to uncover insight, facilitate workshops, generate ideas, test propositions, and deliver compelling business cases is essential. Running end-to-end innovation sprints, you will be organised, proactive and confident at managing stakeholders. You'll be able to balance conflicting workstreams to deliver amazing new propositions at pace.

About us:

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and those who care about them. We help ostomates to return to sports, hobbies and other activities after surgery, and give them the confidence to return to a full life and take on fresh challenges. Our campaigns raise awareness of life with a stoma and encourage organisations to make their facilities more inclusive.

About the role:

As the Fundraising Executive you will work to grow income through developing our community engagement, attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters (individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, volunteers etc). You will lead on the stewardship of events and challenges, including our annual Step Up campaign, by supporting individuals and groups to raise funds through fundraising activities. The post-holder will also support the recording of donations, send appropriate acknowledgements, review fundraising materials, and prepare fundraising content for social media, our website and our quarterly magazine, Tidings. The right candidate will be in a prime position for career progression as we grow our small team.

As Digital Fundraising Executive, you will manage specific digital campaigns to drive supporter acquisition, engagement, retention, and income. You will play an important role in ensuring we provide the best possible experiences for supporters online, and that the online content and journeys are as good as they can be.

Managing specific digital fundraising projects, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure requirements are met, projects are delivered on time and on budget, and targets are achieved.

• Project Management: Oversee digital fundraising projects, ensuring they meet requirements, stay within budget, and hit targets.
• Digital Integration: Enhance offline campaigns with digital content and messaging in collaboration with fundraising teams.
• Email Campaigns: Manage the full cycle of email campaigns, from planning to analysis and feedback.
• Supporter Onboarding: Create welcoming experiences for new sign-ups to foster loyalty.
• Strategic Development: Work with the Digital Manager to grow international fundraising through various digital channels.
• Performance Monitoring: Keep track of fundraising activities, update plans, and implement optimisations as needed.
• Testing and Optimisation: Assist in A/B and multivariate testing to improve digital fundraising efforts.
• Global Efficiency: Ensure campaign activities are efficient and optimised internationally.
• Collaborative Projects: Support the Digital Managers and Head of Digital Fundraising with additional projects.

As the Digital Fundraising Executive, you will be responsible for managing projects to maximise income, plus supporter recruitment, engagement, and retention, through digital channels. Their work will include email, search, display and paid social campaigns across one or more countries where Sightsavers fundraises. Working with colleagues across fundraising and beyond to ensure digital support for the relevant campaigns is effective and optimised.

Required Skills

Essential:

• Proven experience in managing digital fundraising projects with timely delivery, adherence to briefs and budgets, and effective results reporting.
• Knowledge and experience in key digital marketing or fundraising disciplines, including CMS, email platforms, social media, search and display advertising, and GA4.
• Excellent writing skills with a background in fundraising copywriting.
• Competence in data analysis, reporting setup, and tracking progress against KPIs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project management skills involving coordination with multiple teams and external agencies to achieve organisational goals.

Desirable:

• Experience in international fundraising.
• Understanding of various individual-giving fundraising disciplines, such as mailings, inserts, and TV advertising.
• Experience in orchestrating virtual mass participation events.
• Strong editing and proofreading abilities.
• Research skills to identify new digital and fundraising opportunities.

Job Title:          Corporate Fundraising Manager

Salary:£35,392 - £42,618 (depending on experience)

We are looking for a creative, dynamic and adaptable corporate fundraising manager with a minimum of three years’ experience or relevant sales experience to develop and deliver a successful corporate fundraising strategy. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and significant  experience of delivering pitches and securing new business, coupled with demonstrable success of securing sponsorship and commercial participation opportunities.

You will have a natural flair and genuine passion for corporate fundraising, be a terrific storyteller with  exceptional communication skills to bring this unique world leading cancer centre alive for businesses in an engaging and purposeful way. . Most of all, we are looking for someone whose enthusiasm, innovation and ambition  will match those of the Charity. . As part of a supportive and committed team, you  will be professional in your approach and provide an excellent standard of service for our charity supporters.

The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive gold standard care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.

Working arrangements

• This is a field-based role covering Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. . You will need to live in Coventry, Warwickshire and Black Country or  you must be able to relocate to this region.
• Regular travel within the area, and occasionally to other parts of the UK.
• You must have a full UK driving licence at the time of application with access to your own vehicle.
• There will be a requirement for flexible out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity. You will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

Salary: Band B, £24k to £30k, depending on skills and experience.

Hours: It is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours a week) role and we offer remote, hybrid and flexible working options (EDT have a UK network of regional offices West Midlands, Plymouth, Glasgow, Manchester, Hertfordshire and Southampton).

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds from companies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.

· Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective partners from across companies, trusts and foundations.

·  Research and maintain an on-going, sustainable pipeline of prospects including new trusts and foundations, companies and industry sectors.

· Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding.

· Build effective relationships with funders in order to secure long-term funding and support. Achieve income targets that support the delivery and fundraising goals.

· Keep accurate, relevant, timely records on our CRM and maintain regular communication with relevant teams including operations, finance, marketing and fundraising teams.

· Create inspiring reports and updates for funders that bring to life the impact of their support and demonstrate first class stewardship.

· Where appropriate, attend events to meet funders and/or promote EDT.

· Work closely with relevant teams to embed monitoring and evaluation throughout the funding process. Report on progress, results and income in a timely manner.

· Work with the Fundraising Manager with analysing trends to support the fundraising strategy.

Competencies and Attributes:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organisation skills - can manage workload and deadlines and proactively work to achieve timely delivery.

· Experience of securing funding from grant makers and/or companies.

· Experience of planning, preparing and writing high quality bids, funding applications and reports.

· Knowledge of managing funders' relationships. Knowledge of databases/data management, including producing reports.

· A strong team player, who can communicate effectively and engage colleagues at all levels and develop strong and productive relationships.

· Attention to detail and IT proficiency.

· Understanding of applicable legislation.

· A knowledge of the not for profit/charity sector.

· The ability to travel to locations across the UK on occasions to meet colleagues, funders and partners.

The successful candidate will be required to fulfil an enhanced DBS/PVG check.

Fundraising Manager and Team Lead

You are an experienced and ambitious fundraising manager and team lead looking to make your mark in a charity that’s at a pivotal time in its 28-year history.

You have expertise in managing all aspects of community and company fundraising and donor journeys that deliver six-figure funding for the charity sector.

In this role, you will take responsibility for leading the charity’s Fundraising function, which sits as part of the income generation team, at a really exciting time of change.

About the role  

As the charity works to double the number of women it helps, we are recruiting for a Fundraising Events Lead to join our Newcastle team. Reporting to the Centre Manager, they will engage new and existing supporters and achieve income targets, raising vital funds across events and community fundraising to support of our mission.

In practice, this involves identifying new locations to deliver our annual events calendar including our sustainable fashion sales, and delivering our annual community fundraising campaign to target income, Cycle for Smart Works.

They will also work with our Communications Assistant to deliver engaging digital content about our events and community fundraising initiatives across various social media platforms.

The successful candidate will have good relationship building skills to ensure lasting and mutually beneficial event partnerships, and excellent written communication skills.

The role will be based at our Smart Works centre in Newcastle with occasional travel to set-up and host corporate and community events. Occasional weekend and evening work is also required to lead and support on our events calendar.

Duties and responsibilities

• Leading on Smart Works Newcastle’s signature fundraising events, including high-end supporter events, fashion sales, and pop-up shops, managing the project from planning to execution and ensuring income targets of circa £55K are met.
• Effectively steward and manage multiple event partners to increase annual gift-in-kind support, clothing donations and engagement.
• Manage all external stakeholders involved in an event, sharing event briefs with the staff and trustee team.
• Seek networking opportunities to grow our supporter base, through community fundraising and corporate partnerships, owning KPI income targets for community and events.
• Working with the London HQ Community Fundraising Manager, to deliver our annual community fundraising campaigns such as Cycle for Smart Works and local events such as the Great North Run to income target c. £20k.
• Deliver an event from concept to delivery, ensuring key metrics are shared with the Communications Assistant to update our stakeholder groups accordingly.
• Supporting the team with other income generation streams such as grant applications, corporate relationships and working with the London HQ functions for each stream.

Personal Specification 

Essential criteria

• Demonstrable experience in event management and delivery, raising income in excess of £55k per annum. Event management in a fundraising capacity is highly desirable.
• Strong relationship building skills and confidence managing various stakeholders.
• Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
• Effective project-management skills, with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of writing applications for charitable trust grants is highly desirable.
• A detailed understanding of the fundraising landscape across Newcastle is highly desirable.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and digital content creation software such as Canva and Adobe InDesign, for professional settings.
• Experience in a fundraising or sales-based role.
• Experience working with VIPs or influencers.
