TRC s a women-only organisation which provides support to women and girls who have experienced rape or sexual abuse. The Business Support & Development Officer will be responsible for TRCs business administration, finance & development; supporting the day-to-day operational functions and overall strategic objectives of TRC.

As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy. 

This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll further embed effective and meaningful involvement at all stages of the research cycle at Blood Cancer UK. 

You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. You will ensure that the research we and others fund is patient focussed and has the potential to accelerate progress and deliver the maximum impact for the communities we support.

The Marylebone Project is one of the UK’s largest providers of support services to women experiencing homelessness. Salary

£33,158 per annum

Hours

Pension

The Marylebone Project is one of the largest women’s hostels in the UK for women affected by homelessness. Those we support are often affected by substance misuse, unemployment, domestic violence, and mental health issues. Whatever their story, we aim for the same ending, self-esteem, employment, and independent living. We do this by providing shelter, education opportunities, spiritual space, and events in a welcoming and secure environment.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity within the Project, delivering meaningful activity and EET opportunities for women, giving lots of scope for creativity and development. Within this role you will be required to provide exemplary support to the women we serve, supporting them in their journey to recovery.  This role plays an integral part in developing life and employability skills and providing opportunities for involvement and ultimately job procurement. You will gain varied experience developing a revitalised service, one which serves and works with our women.

This role works with all departments of the Marylebone Project, and will develop exciting new relationships with external partners, and creating work and training related opportunities for women. The post sits within our Centre Team.

You will have the opportunity to develop our Meaningful Activity and EET programme a which will really make a difference to women’s lives and have the privilege to see them through their journey into independence.

As a Resettlement Worker you will be supporting homeless women to gain the skills needed in order to live independently; our clients are expected to be with us for no more than 2 years and the main route into independent living will be PRS (Private Rented Sector). You will be carrying out a variety of workshops to support the clients to gain the skills needed and use our internal and external partners to help our clients get back into work or education. You will also be supporting the women to understand financial responsibilities, paying rent, bills, council tax and applying for benefits.

You will need to be someone who can work with other people unconditionally, who has an understanding of the challenges of homelessness and can work without judgement. You will need to be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills and able to work well with others. You will be part of a fantastic team, being one of five Resettlement Workers holding a caseload of women, with the focus on resettlement and preparing for independence.

This role is part of a much larger Project, so here you have the opportunity to work alongside and support your colleagues working with our women focusing on reflection, recovery, training, employment at all stages of their journey out of homelessness.

You will:

• Be a competent, efficient user of Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology – especially for managing and manipulating data.
• Have experience of reporting suites such as Power BI and a knowledge and expertise using SQL and Azure.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales. 

Central to this is the evaluation team.  The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects. 

Key responsibilities 

The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence. 

Evaluation 

Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will: 

• Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee. 

• Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds. 

• Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation. 

• Lead the delivery of YEF’s evaluation work, designing, commissioning and managing complex and large-scale evaluations. 

• Be responsible for YEF’s evaluation policies and reporting templates, ensuring they remain consistent and fit for purpose. 

• Be responsible for the ongoing development of YEF’s commissioning guidance. 

Team management 

The post holder will likely lead the recruitment, management and development of a team of Evaluation Officers and will: 

• Ensure they have the knowledge, skills and support to carry out their work effectively. 

• Provide regular feedback and coaching on written outputs. 

• Supervise and project manage the team’s evaluation work, providing quality assurance and monitoring of progress against project plans and project budgets. 

Collaborative working 

The post holder will contribute to the wider YEF team and will: 

• Be accountable to YEF’s Fund Leadership Team for the delivery of evaluations, making sure they are on time and on budget, including reporting on risks and issues. 

• Work closely with colleagues across YEF and specifically the Programme team. 

• Ensure high-quality evidence is at the heart of all YEF activity and that the evidence we produce is communicated in a clear and accessible way which will drive sustainable change. 

• Support the management of YEF’s panel of evaluators and expert panel. 

General 

The post holder may be involved in other elements of YEF's projects, working with senior colleagues to commission, scope and deliver projects. 

About you 

You are this sort of person: 

• You don't want your days to pass without making a difference. You want to play a significant part in reducing the level of violence involving young people and see the value in an evidence-informed approach.   

• You are an excellent communicator. You can produce technical documents that accurately report methodological and statistical information. You will combine this with experience of communicating complex evidence and analysis in a simple and accessible format to non- experts. 

• You have a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in social science, social policy, public health, health services or other fields, with a significant quantitative component, or relevant experience equivalent to a Masters qualification. 

• You have strong knowledge, experience and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies including the ability to critically appraise the design of a variety of different evaluation designs. 

• You have quantitative analysis skills including experience of using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS. 

• You have significant experience in carrying out or commissioning research including designing all aspects of the research and managing external contractors.  This may be in academia, government or a related sector. 

• You have strong relationship management skills. You are comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners, and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenge when required.

• You bring the best out of your colleagues.  You have experience in leading teams and managing others to achieve amazing results. You can both take and give direction. You are collaborative and a team player, able to build strong relationships across the whole organisation. You are happy to help out when and where it’s needed.

The Marylebone Project is one of the UK’s largest providers of support services to women experiencing homelessness. The women we support have multiple disadvantages and require dedicated services like us to provide them with the right help to get back on their feet. Our purpose is to empower those we work with to take the steps they have identified are needed to achieve their goals. We do this by being person-centred with support and creating a Psychologically informed environment that encourages recovery.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity within the Project, your role will be based within our newly refurbished Centre where you will manage a caseload of service users who may have complex needs and challenging behaviour. You will provide Advice, Guidance and information (IAG) to vulnerable adults and holistic support to address their needs within a psychologically informed environment and will provide specialist VAWG support.

Part of your role will also include Coordinating and facilitating our Drop-in Service for rough sleepers, providing them with a range of services including food provision; laundry; showers; clothing and nurses clinics.

Salary

£31,927 per annum

Hours

Average 40 hours a week on a five-week rota. Normal working pattern will be working across early and late shifts & working two weekends. Working hours and rotas are subject to change by the organisation as required, based on operational/service need, though we try not to do this frequently. Some flexibility in working hours is expected.

Pension

The employee will be enrolled into a pension scheme providing the post holder meets the criteria for eligibility. Minimum pension contributions will be paid by the employer for you if you are eligible.

Annual Leave

28 days, including bank holidays, rising by one day a year to a maximum of 33 days after each full year’s service. As the project works on a 24/7 basis, you will be required to work some bank holidays, including Christmas and New Yea

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive supporter engagement strategy to bolster our supporter base and enhance engagement levels.
• Curate a tailored stewardship journey for major donors and legacy pledges, providing personalised communications and resources to foster continued support.
• Oversee the management of our supporter database/CRM, ensuring compliance with GDPR and all relevant legislation.
• Utilise data analytics to design targeted campaigns and initiatives aimed at expanding our supporter network across various channels and touchpoints.
• Lead church engagement efforts, forging and nurturing connections with local and national churches and networks.
• Collaborate with our Activities and Community Engagement (ACE) Facilitators to enhance engagement within our care homes and housing schemes.
• Drive regular prayer communications, fostering a culture of prayer support through various platforms including our online Prayer Wall.
• Organise and lead supporter-facing events such as exhibitions and conferences to facilitate meaningful interactions with existing and prospective supporters.

About You

• Minimum of three years of experience in the charity or third sector.
• Proven track record in supporter engagement and database management.
• Good understanding of UK GDPR regulations.
• Familiarity with fundraising functions and project management.

We are in the early stages of implementing our 10-year organisational strategy, ARUK: Towards a Cure. Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office and reporting to the Project and Programme Manager, the Project Officer supports the scoping, planning, and delivery of strategic, cross-team projects and programmes. The post holder also supports the Project and Programme Manager in embedding project management best practice across the wider organisation.   

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Project Management

· Deliver key, strategic projects, as determined by the yearly Operational Planning process, working with project teams to develop flexible project plans that can adapt to change. 

· Manage project risks, decisions, and dependencies, liaise with third parties, and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated at key checkpoints. 

· Lead project reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomes are embedded into BAU. 

· Support the Project and Programme Manager and Head of Programme Management on other ongoing projects and programmes as and when required.

Promotion of project management best practice

· Maintain ownership of the Projects team intranet pages and project management resources, for use by colleagues across the organisation. 

· Provide tailored project management consultations to empower colleagues to deliver their own in-team projects. 

· Support the Project and Programme Manager on delivering the ARUK Project Management Masterclass.

What we are looking for:

· Experience managing projects, including allocating tasks and managing risks, decisions, and changes. 

· Sound knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).

· Demonstrable ability to work with and influence a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels. 

· Working knowledge of project management tools, such as Excel, Smartsheet, MS Projects or similar.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
