About this key role

As a valued and integral part of the Fundraising and Communications team, our successful candidate will lead a small sub-team to generate at least £500,000 income each year, including the direct line management of a Senior Fundraising Officer, who you will support to line manage the Fundraising Assistant.  We will count on you to implement effective processes and procedures across the fundraising and collaborating teams, manage and refine processes for recordkeeping and devise, maintain and update our Fundraising Handbook.

You will also be expected to manage the development and implementation of our Individual Giving Strategy and our Individual Giving income stream through single and regular giving appeals, as well as managing a portfolio of challenge events nationally that provides excellent stewardship for a range of participants. Developing and designing high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five-, six- and seven figure funding opportunities from Trusts & Foundations, Community Partners and High Net Worth Individuals is a key element of this role, as is providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.

The Finance Manager line manages the Finance Assistant ensuring the transactional detail is accurately and efficiently processed in a timely manner. Working in a fully paperless operation the Finance Manager will take the lead on several of the systems used to produce all the records in Xero. The jobholder will also be a key player in producing for example: first draft Management Accounts, Catering accounts, departmental reports and help colleagues with analysis against budgets.

About the role

Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. Our Grant Assessment Managers form part of a centralised Grant Assessment function – a flexible and adaptable team which provides critique and assessment of applications submitted to the Football Foundation and Premier League Stadium Fund for capital and revenue grants, working within short timescales. In addition to the core function, Grant Assessment Managers are required to undertake Post Award Support to ensure the objectives of our grants are being met. This involves both face-to-face and remote meetings with grant recipients, where an assessment of delivery of outcomes, KPI measures and compliance with grant terms and conditions is made.

 

What are we looking for?

You don’t have to be a football fan to join the Foundation, but you must have a detailed understanding of grant application and grant giving processes and governance, coupled with an ability to effectively apply this knowledge to provide high levels of customer service. You’ll have experience of critiquing and assessing grant applications, as well as an understanding of the operations, requirements and challenges faced by community organisations, statutory bodies and not-for-profits.

You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and applicants remotely, as well as experience of producing detailed reports for decision-makers.

Grant Assessment Managers must be highly organised, with the ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities, adapting their approach for each programme to ensure governance and compliance requirements are met.

Philanthropy Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Philanthropy Manager who is a relationship builder with a growth mindset.

This is a remote working role and applications from individuals who are seeking flexible working options, including reduced hours are welcomed.

Position: CE310 Philanthropy Manager

Location: Home-based, UK Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (flexible and reduced hours available)

Salary: Circa £42,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live)

Contract: Permanent

The Role

As Philanthropy Manager, you will be contributing towards the ambitious plans to further increase reach and impact over the next three years. This role presents an opportunity to manage and grow the philanthropic income, including leading on the development of the Major Donor programme/s.

You will play a central role in making stroke the investment priority it needs to be by shaping the small but promising philanthropy programme, managing a portfolio of committed supporters as well as new prospects. You’ll also scope and test new philanthropy products to drive sustained giving. 

Working within the High-Value Engagement Team, you will build relationships with loyal and prospective donors, raising vital funds to power the Association’s work to support people affected by stroke.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Lead the development of the philanthropic programme/s, using knowledge of sectoral trends and best-practice acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship strategies to reach personal and collective financial targets.

· Submit proposals in order to secure and renew income from major donors.

· Provide the necessary financial information to the Head of Philanthropy and Trusts so that he can prepare budgets and forecasts in a timely manner.

About You

Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy and Trusts – we are looking for someone with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise a diverse workload. You will have:

· Experience of philanthropic fundraising for a charitable organisation or equivalent, with a track record of securing £50k+ donations.

· Experience of building and developing effective relationships in a professional setting.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· A growth mindset, and a proven ability to deliver or exceed targets.
