We are seeking an experienced and motivated Part Time Advocacy Support Worker with the delivery of our Community One-to-One Advocacy project.

The Project Worker / Advocacy Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver a high-quality, person-centred Community One-to-One Advocacy service across the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Supporting the day-to-day delivery of the project, the postholder will help ensure that project objectives, outcomes, and timescales are achieved in line with organisational policies and funder requirements.

The postholder will work directly with individuals with learning disabilities, autistic people, and other vulnerable adults to help them understand their rights, access services, overcome barriers, and improve their independence and wellbeing. They will also support the Project Manager with community outreach, volunteer coordination, partnership working, monitoring and evaluation, and maintaining accurate records to ensure the effective delivery and ongoing development of the project.

About the role

As a Young Women & Girls' Groupworker, you will deliver therapeutic groupwork and short-term counselling to young women and girls aged 16–25 who are affected by, or at risk of, domestic abuse and related forms of gender-based violence.

The role combines psycho-educational group facilitation, one-to-one counselling, and outreach/engagement work, contributing to improved emotional wellbeing, confidence, and self-esteem among participants. All services are delivered within a client-led, trauma-informed and Person-Centred/Humanistic framework, and a strong commitment to this approach is essential

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week.

Location: Woman’s Trust premises including co-location with statutory partners and community partnership locations.Woman’s Trust operates a hybrid working model with a minimum of 50% to be on-site.

• Complex Case Support (40% of the role’s time). The postholder will help our Referrals Officer to assess the suitability of complex referrals and cases.

• Volunteer Support and Continuous Improvement (30% of the role’s time). The postholder will offer adhoc advice to our volunteers to ensure they are supported and following best practice.

About the project 

WeProtect Global Alliance is seeking external expertise to assess its current data protection arrangements and support the development of an organisation-wide data protection framework.

The Alliance processes personal information relating to employees, consultants, suppliers, partners, donors, members and other stakeholders. Data is held across multiple business functions, including internal operations and membership services.

The purpose of this project is to:

The post holder will take a project management approach to coordinating and delivering volunteer-led projects across Hestia, with a particular focus on supporting Domestic Abuse services. What do I need to bring with me?

Previous experience of recruiting and/or supervising staff or volunteers would be advantageous, although this is not essential. Strong IT skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, alongside good literacy, numeracy and evaluation skills. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the cultural, social and health issues affecting Hestia's service users, particularly those accessing Domestic Abuse services, and will be able to apply this knowledge sensitively in their work. They will be skilled in building effective partnerships and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the statutory, voluntary and private sectors. You will bring

We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:

• Although no formal qualifications are necessary a good level of spoken and written English is essential for this role.
• Proven experience providing emotional, practical, and welfare support to individuals affected by domestic abuse, including women, men, and children.
• Proven experience with adult and child safeguarding procedures and multi-agency risk assessment processes.
• Ability to support individuals in crisis with compassion and understanding.
• Non-judgmental attitude and active listening skills.

Essential Core Skills  

Health & Safety Awareness

Safeguarding 

We work with adults and children who may be ‘at risk’ and expect colleagues to work in a way which protects the people we support from harm.  Our colleagues are expected to identify people ‘at risk’ and confidently report any Safeguarding concerns as appropriate within the service.

Hours: 24.25 hours on a 2-week rolling rota

Week 1

Wednesday 12.15pm-4.15pm, Thursday 9am-4.15pm, Friday 9am-4.15pm

Week 2

Wednesday 12.15pm-4.15pm, Thursday 9am-4.15pm, Friday 9am-4.15pm, Saturday 9am-4.15pm, Sunday 9am-4.15pm

Please note, this is an on-site role only. Due to the nature of our Refuges and Outreach services, it is essential that our teams are present and accessible, enabling us to provide safe, responsive and high-quality support to those who need us most.

About the role

We are looking for high calibre, passionate, caring individuals who are excellent team players and are committed to providing high quality, trauma informed services for victims and survivors of domestic abuse. 

The role will provide range of practical housing and administrative provision within a supported housing environment. The role is the first point of contact for Safenet services and will ensure emergency access to accommodation for women, men and children through the Safenet Helpline.
