Role Summary

You will work closely with The Governance and Team Lead to ensure smooth and effective running of our finance and HR processes. You will work with the wider team supporting their effective delivery of training and projects as well as provide day to day support. This is a mixed and self-directed role with opportunity to contribute to a range of work and projects. We require some core office hours, by agreement and support team members to work flexibly to accommodate good work/life balance.

General

• Be a point of contact and support team members
• Support to project team including monitoring emails and responding to enquiries

• Have demonstrable prior experience working in a no.1 Director of Finance or CFO level role
• Be highly experienced managing substantial budgets, resources and funding
• Have an excellent track record of managing and motivating teams, as well as being able to demonstrate strong negotiation and influencing skills both externally and internally

This role falls inside of IR35, and is advertised on the basis of a hybrid working model (3 days per week in the office).

Join Dementia UK as a Gift Processing Officer helping to establish an excellent level of financial processing that will underpin the growth in fundraising activity across a range of income streams.

Working within the supporter care team you will be responsible for processing a high volume of donations. You will ensure that that all processing is accurate and timely in order to provide an excellent supporter experience for all Dementia UK donors & supporters. About the role

As our Senior Finance & Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of our organisation’s success. Working closely with the Director, Finance and Operations, you will help to manage financial processes, streamline operations, and ensure both our UK and EU teams are properly resourced to drive our mission forward. You will interact daily with a broad range of stakeholders in the UK and the EU including senior level staff, external consultants and suppliers in the while also working closely with Finance, HR & IT colleagues in the US.

Key responsibilities

Financial Management (30%)

• Support on day-to-day financial activities including financial reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Develop and implement best practices to optimise operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and monitor project budgets.
• Support decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

Operational Support (40%)

• Be the first point of contact for all enquiries from the campaigns and fundraising teams in the UK and EU.

Contracts Lifecycle Management (30%)

• Oversee the lifecycle of all supplier contracts: creation, submission and signing. (Legal contract knowledge is not required.)

 About you

You will be a dynamic individual with a can-do attitude who has a proven track record of juggling competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  The role is varied and has a significant financial element so strong numeracy skills, a solid knowledge of financial management principles paired with good communications skills are important. My client is a values led organisation whose purpose is to seek justice for those who have died or been seriously injured in conflict,  including deciding whether a criminal investigation should be part of the investigation.

The organisation is responsible for investigations into deaths and serious injuries, recovering information for families, victims, and survivors of conflict, working towards much needed closure for all those affected.

The Management Accountant is a key role that will provide in-year financial management, produce financial reports and add insight and analysis to meet budget holder needs.

Key responsibilities of the role will include;

• Budget management, working with budget holders to develop robust budget plans and monitor delivery
• Support budget holders with monthly forecasting
• Identify and monitor budget risks and opportunities, supporting stakeholders to develop mitigating actions
• Undertake all month-end tasks to ensure accurate financial information
• Prepare finance reports and translate financial information to non-finance stakeholders, providing narrative behind the numbers to influence decision making

In order to be successful in the role, you will need to be either formally qualified or working towards qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIPFA) as well as extensive financial experience, including journals and accruals, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis. 

Experience gained in a government department or ALB/NDPB would be preferred however applications from within wider Not for Profit or public sector organisations would also be encouraged.

Senior Finance Executive

Duration: 3-Months Temporary

As a Senior Finance Executive, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records during the year-end audit preparation process. This position requires strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare reconciliation schedules for accruals and pre-payments; reconciling deferred income; undertaking balance reconciliations and cash-flow forecasting.
* Reconcile the financial ledgers and ensure all accounting records are accurate and up to date.
* Assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
* Reconcile data between Sage 200 and other sources of information.
* Prepare supporting schedules in preparation for the year-end audit so that a first draft of the annual accounts can be prepared and reviewed with the Financial Controller.
* Prepare P11D's and PAYE Settlement Agreements, ensuring that the correct expenses are recorded and making payments where necessary to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Work closely with Finance Executive, Finance Assistant, and Finance Manager.
* Assist in additional tasks given by the Financial Controller.

Knowledge and Skills:
* The post holder must be part qualified accountant.
* Be proficient in the use of financial software packages (ideally Sage 200), customer relationship management databases, and Office.
* The post holder must be particularly skilled in the use of Excel - Vlookups, pivot tables, formulae including conditional formatting, tables, what if analysis, cell formatting.
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Have excellent organisational and time management skills and be able to prioritise effectively.
* Have an analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
* Have a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in the work output.
* Have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and audit procedures (ideally experience of preparation of year-end supporting documents).
* Ideally, the post holder will have experience of preparing VAT returns for partially exempt organisations.

The Finance Systems Analyst is a newly created role which will have responsibility for the efficient running and maintenance of ClientEarth’s finance systems, including Access Focal Point- which has been in use for over five years and Workday Adaptive Planning, a new system for the organisation. • • Supporting the Head of FP&A with the Workday Adaptive modelling and build to enable value added performance review and reporting in line with organisational strategy.

• • Administrator for Workday Adaptive and Focal Point to include maintenance and regular review of users, user profiles, password management.

•     Lead and develop the Trust’s fundraising, overseeing development of prospect pipelines and growing income year on year from membership, major donors, individual giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, grants and charitable trusts, ensuring that the Trust achieves its restricted and unrestricted income targets 

•     Inspire funding support for the Trust’s work through relationship-based fundraising with major donors, corporates and grant-making bodies 

•     Enable delivery colleagues to secure funding for their work, supporting the development of fundable projects and high quality bids and securing continuation funding 

•     Stimulate growth in individual giving from members and non-members through the development and implementation of an ambitious plan incorporating supporter development, recruitment and retention. 

•     Ensure fundraising systems are working effectively and all activity is compliant with the Trust’s policies, fundraising guidelines from regulators, and all relevant legislation, including Data Protection and Health and Safety. 

•     Manage an integrated functional team across fundraising, contribute to the direction and development of the Trust as a member of the leadership team and undertake other duties in line with the role as requested 

Management Accountant

Location: Devon, Cornwall, Bristol

Salary: £39,822 - £45,544 per annum (pro rata)

Management Accountant - This role can be based at any three of the Hospices: Charlton Farm in Bristol, Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, or Little Harbour in St Austell and home.

Joining their small friendly and professional team, you will be responsible for preparing the management accounts. This will include commentaries and financial statement analysis, providing support to budget holders on management accounting principles, and preparing the annual budgets. The position is also required to support and assist other members of the finance team in a range of financial compliance, reporting, and analysis work.

With an accounting qualification such as CIMA or CIPFA and experience in providing accountancy services working at a relatively high level, you will also be familiar with generating management accounts via computerised systems and delivering financial analysis and forecasting. Excellent Excel skills are essential, and experience with Xledger would be a significant advantage. Confidence and ability to use initiative, a positive attitude, and supportive team working is essential.
