Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Peer Mentoring Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!
The successful post holder will work with the peer mentoring team to empower young people to co-produce and engage in their peer support projects which will draw on their own knowledge, feelings, and lived-experience to help their peers.
The post holder will also support in the trainining of any professionals and volunteers that work with young people, especially around mentoring. This also include training FYA Youth Facilitators to deliver our peer mentoring service (one to one and group work).
FYA is working to develop peer support through the organisation and capacity build external partners pan London to deliver their own peer support programme. The PMO will also support in this peer mentoring capacity building programme, which will comprise of train the trainer, masterclasses and support to organisations.
The training workshops can include mental health, youth participation and general mentoring as the topics. The training workshops look to train professionals all around London in best practice for youth led mentoring and mental health related projects through our co-produced masterclasses in addition to Train the Trainer programmes on facilitating mentoring projects for young people. Youth Mental Health First Aid will also be on offer to train professionals or those working with young people. Responsibilities will also include supporting any deliverables, outputs and ensure any targets are met.
The post holder will work as part of the Peer Mentoring Team to work together to deliver the projects to meet the targets of the programmes.
