In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [30%]

• Spearheading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, where each member plays its part, and the church is empowered to transform young lives
• Owning and managing the strategy for Spear Bristol that will help make this vision a reality

Swindon’s welcome, accessible space in the heart of the town is looking for two Hub Coordinators - to help us grow, build and do more: by and with the community. It's a great chance to get active and make a real difference in this diverse town.

You’ll be working with a dynamic group of volunteers and visitors, helping to keep the Hub running day-to-day, as well as taking on a special focus of your own.

One special focus will be reaching out and drawing in: connecting with communities, groups and people around Swindon who are not using the Hub; building relationships, working in partnership and organising events and activities to see that the Hub is as inclusive and diverse as it can be.

The other special focus will be learning, skills & growing: supporting volunteers and visitors to the Hub, developing programmes of activities and opportunities - both internal and working with external partners - to help people learn, develop and grow.

• Securing funds from a variety of sources to support services offered to families to meet our strategic objectives and the long-term sustainability of the charity.

Main responsibilities for the Fundraising & Membership Officer

Fundraising

• Support the setting of the charity’s fundraising targets through the research and review of both external and internal fundraising activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of the charity’s fundraising activities and campaigns.
• Collate the agreed metrics (including income and expenditure) and report on a weekly basis.
• Participate fully in the generation of fundraising ideas and activity selection.
• Design, prepare and implement the agreed activities and campaigns, which are likely to be varied in nature and might include dedicated fundraising events, grant applications to support families in disadvantaged socio-economic groups, and legacy generation.
• Recommend changes and updates to the activities and campaigns based on testing and evidenced data.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of fundraising activities and campaigns, including both income and impact.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing individuals and organisations, such as member alumni and grant-making trusts and foundations.

Promoting the Charitable Aims of the Charity

• With marketing support as needed, create effective messaging to be shared externally and with existing members to engender a sense of belonging to the high learning potential community, together with an understanding of its rights and its potential positive impact on society, with the aim of creating a desire to support the charity now and on an ongoing basis.
• Work with the Community Information Coordinator to utilise all appropriate opportunities to convey these messages.

Membership

• Design and coordinate an effective system to enhance the membership offer and improve membership renewal and retention.
• Work with the administration and community teams to ensure that the journey from interested party to becoming a member and from member to retained member is compelling and framed coherently and that systems are in place to effectively implement this.

Family Gateway is looking to recruit to the role of Financial Services Manager. The Financial Services Manager is a key strategic role within the organization and will be part of the Senior Leadership Team.  The post holder will attend and be answerable to the Board of Trustees in the areas of finance, compliance and risk and undertake the position of GDPR lead on behalf of the organization working within the wider Senior Leadership Team that includes a Business Development Manager, Training and Development Manager and Operations Manager.

Job Summary

To take the lead in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for keeping children, young people and adults at risk of harm safe are actioned at MHI as part of a Designated Safeguarding team covering the Shout platform 24/7. The role is responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people on our platform, being a consistent and reliable presence on the Shout platform, and advising Shout Supervisors on safeguarding actions and practise while raising and recording safeguarding issues as they arise. 

Key Responsibilities

• To act as an MHI Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
• Contribute to developing and reviewing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Alongside the DSL/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with or for children and young people at MHI, including the board of trustees, understands the safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s welfare
• Take a lead role in implementing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures: ensuring all safeguarding and child protection issues concerning children and young people who take part in MHI’s activities are responded to appropriately
• Take the lead on responding to information that may constitute a child protection concern, including a concern that an adult involved with MHI may present a risk to children or young people. This includes:
  • assessing and clarifying the information
  • calling in and recording all safeguarding issues as they arise.
  • supporting and responding to staff who raise internal concerns as well as supporting those who make external safeguarding referrals to police or Adult / Children's Services
  • making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
  • consulting with and informing the relevant members of the organisation’s management
  • following the organisation’s safeguarding policy and procedures

• Immediately referring cases to the Safeguarding Panel where there is a radicalisation concern

• Record and retain child protection records according to legal requirements and the organisation’s safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures.
• Work closely with the management committee/board of trustees and Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns about organisational safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Contribute to regular reports to MHI’s board of trustees on issues relating to safeguarding and child protection, to ensure that child protection is seen as an ongoing priority issue and that safeguarding and child protection requirements are being followed at all levels of the organisation.
• Be familiar with and work within inter-agency child protection procedures developed by child protection agencies working in partnership with MHI.
• Be familiar with issues relating to child protection and abuse, and keep up to date with new developments in this area.

Operational and Management

• Oversee all aspects of programme planning development and evaluation

• Ensure that all programme components are strategically coordinated and contribute to overall organisational objectives

• Oversee further development of a communications strategy that positions HRI effectively, protects its reputation, and identifies opportunities to promote its key messages and activities

• Recruit and manage staff, and ensure appropriate organisational structures with clear roles and responsibilities 

• Ensure regular performance evaluations, feedback loops, and training and professional development and education for all staff

• Manage administrative matters relating to staff, including legal and health and safety requirements, and required policies and processes 

• Oversee risk management and legal activities: letters of agreement, contracts, leases and other legal documents and agreements

• Implement appropriate policies, including internal controls and accounting standards and procedures

Robertson Bell are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance and Operations to join this small but mighty charity! This pivotal role will provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing financial management, IT systems, and operational efficiency to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the organisation in alignment with its charitable objectives.

The Director of Finance and Operations will report into the CEO and manage a small team of three. The successful post holder will spend the majority of their time on finance and governance processes and matters as well as holding oversight of the outsourced IT contract acting as the main point of contact.

Duties for this role will include:

• Provide robust financial information for operational management and decision-making.
• Ensure financial sustainability and facilitate growth to further charitable aims.
• Maintain financial probity, controls, and compliance with HMRC and Charity Commission.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to the Board of Directors and Trustees.
• Manage financial risks and appraise the viability of plans and proposals.
• Ensure effective payroll, pension scheme management, and procurement procedures.
• Lead commercial decisions in collaboration with the CEO.
• Act as Company Secretary, ensuring legal and statutory compliance.
• Oversee and enhance IT systems to optimize organisational workflow.

This position will be offered on a home working contract however attendance to key meetings will be required. These meetings will happen mostly across London and Birmingham with all  travel expenses paid for. This Director of Finance and Operations will mostly suit candidates that have previously worked in a small sized not for profit organisation.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA/ACCA).
• Be experience managing teams.
• Ideally have proven experience in the charity sector.
• Have the ability to present financial information.

Leading on all aspects of hospice communications and marketing; to build brand awareness, communicate impact, support income generation activity and care services across our catchment area.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop a Communications and Marketing strategy for the charity

· Develop expertise within the team through leadership and training

· Enlist and work with Agency support as required

· Lead on communications and marketing, through all channels

· Agree, monitor and report on departmental budgets

· Analyse results and report progress to the Senior Management Team and the Board of Trustees

Qualifications and Skills

· Degree level qualification or equivalent experience

· Marketing qualification

· At least 2 years’ experience in marketing and PR

· Ability to think at a strategic and analytical level

· Ability to write compelling copy

· Experience of setting and monitoring budgets
