Global’s Make Some Noise is a national charity that improves the lives of disadvantaged people across the UK. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, feel well, feel included and feel prepared. We work across four key areas: providing shelter and safety, supporting physical and mental health, preventing isolation and improving life skills.
We harness the power and reach of Global, the Media & Entertainment Group to raise money and awareness for small and local charities across the UK that are supporting disadvantaged people in our communities.
Reporting of the role
This role is positioned in the fundraising team, who are targeted to raise income across Make Some Noise’s and Global’s platforms and partners.
Global’s Make Some Noise is part of Global Goodness, harnessing the power and reach of our brands to support small charities across the UK, raising vital funds and awareness to help the people who need it most in our communities.
Guide Salary:
The salary for this role is circa £25,000.

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic fundraiser to expand skills by working on various fundraising activities, engaging communities across the UK to fundraise for brilliant causes. The shape of the role will evolve across the year according to our external and internal campaign priorities.

Measures of success – In the first few months, you would have:

Recruited and stewarded participants through challenge events such as the London Marathon and Ride London, supporting participants to reach their fundraising goals.

Proactively research and pitch new fundraising opportunities to the team within the community and challenge space.

Began discussion about the coordination and project management of all staff fundraising activities for ‘Make Some Noise Day’– the biggest day of the year for Global’s staff.
Responsibilities of the role
-
Be a point of contact for all challenge participants and community fundraisers.
-
Provide exceptional stewardship support and execute creative fundraising ideas to help participants reach their fullest potential.

Work with fundraising platforms to create automated workflows and streamlined user journey.

Lead the ‘Noise Makers’ to deliver Global’s staff income target by helping to implement a variety of exciting and lucrative fundraising activities in all Global’s offices across the UK
-
Be the dedicated point of contact with Global’s People & Culture (HR) team to deliver internal fundraising operations relating to Make Some Noise Day.

Work with the marketing team to design and deliver first-rate supporter care and resources for activities.
-
Ensure accurate records are maintained on our fundraising databases, and assist with account administration including invoices, payments, contracts, processes and reporting.

Write-up post-project reports and analysis, suggesting areas of improvement.

Manage budgets, looking for efficiencies and proactively spotting fundraising opportunities.

Oversee quarterly invoicing and stewardship of community recycling partners.
-
Support with stewardship of partners and high-value-supporters, such as co-ordinating gift-in-kind donations, volunteering opportunities and studio tours for VIP guests.

Identify, propose and develop fundraising opportunities within defined communities, such as schools and universities.

Provide colleagues with ad-hoc administrative support, such as responding to enquiries, minute-taking, invoicing, contracts and stocktakes, and support with prizes, event materials and marketing assets.
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

Background: Experience of challenge events or community fundraising - ideally in a charity, media or client-focused environment.

Planning: You’ll be highly organised, with demonstrable experience of working under pressure, often to tight deadlines.

Community: You’ll be able to exercise empathy, patience and consistency when dealing with supporters.

Relationships & interpersonal skills: You’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport, relate to others and improve potential from relationships – over the phone, via email and face to face.

Attention to detail: An excellent level of literacy is crucial, along with an error-free ethic, double checking your work and eliminating mistakes and typos before sending on.

Systems: Ideally, you’ll have experience using online fundraising platforms (e.g. Just Giving and Enthuse) and will have a general understanding of how online ticketing and auction platforms work.

Writing: You’ll be confident in writing with a high standard of literacy and strong attention to detail.

Learning: You’ll have a desire for continuous learning of best fundraising practice.

Numeracy: Strong numeracy with experience of using formula in Excel; managing budgets, on the look-out to raise the maximum amount of money for the greatest return, and the sense to take action when figures don’t look right.

Proactivity: A proactive thinker, always looking to spot opportunities and using your initiative to spot issues before they occur.

The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join NWAA, due to the growth in the charity’s events portfolio. You will report into the Events Manager and support the events and fundraising team, to deliver its ambitious new strategy. Duties will include:
- Supporting the team with event organisation and delivery, including providing excellent support and stewardship.
- Enrolling participants taking part in a calendar of events across the region.
- Meeting fundraisers and re-engaging lapsed supporters to develop long-term relationships and maximise fundraising.
- Providing up to date content for the charity’s internal marketing team, to enable the effective production of regular communications to engage new and existing supporter.

You should be organised, diligent and driven to develop your career in fundraising. It is a varied, busy role so you should be able to work proactively - prioritising and working under pressure to make the most of opportunities. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and the ability to build long standing relationships.
The role will involve attending events in the evenings and weekends so will require a full UK driving license, and access to your own vehicle.
While charity experience would be advantageous, we are also keen to speak with people looking to transfer their skillset into this incredibly rewarding area of fundraising and events coordination.

Self Help Africa is an international development organisation that works through agriculture and Agri-enterprise development to end hunger and extreme poverty.

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining supporter relations, optimising fundraising efforts, and ensuring efficient administrative processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Care:
- To be a first point of contact for the Fundraising Department, answering the phone and meeting and greeting people who arrive to the office.
- Respond to enquiries from supporters, prospective supporters and volunteers via telephone, e-mail, and post, maintaining excellent supporter relations.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence.
- To adhere to administrative procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide admin support for Direct Mail letters and appeals, including the use of mail merge, when required.
- Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers.
Community Fundraising:
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support fundraising.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise through challenges, events and talks.
- Support the formation of volunteer fundraising groups.
- Support ongoing and new events within the UK, which may include occasional weekend and evening work.
- Take the lead with the co-ordination and administration of public collections in the UK.
- Take the lead in monitoring fundraising merchandise, and liaise with suppliers, for fundraising materials, including Christmas Cards.
Digital Marketing:
- Support in developing UK digital fundraising opportunities.
- Administer digital acquisition campaigns in the UK e.g. through digital advertising, to generate new donors.
Database Management (Training will be provided):
- Create and maintain contact records on Salesforce, ensuring supporter information is kept up to date by recording changes to mailing preferences, gift aid eligibility and contact details etc.
- Database maintenance and housekeeping e.g. identifying and merging duplicate records, removing, or archiving redundant data, adhering to GDPR protocols.
Finance Administration (Training will be provided):
- Efficiently process and reconcile incoming donations, received daily by post, online and phone. Bank cheques and cash on a weekly basis, and process credit card and CAF donations.
- Record all donations to Salesforce, ensuring the accurate coding of income to the correct source and supporter.
- Administer new Direct Debit instructions.
- Support monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating fundraising income received against budget, to inform the management team and provide accurate forecasting.
- Scan and upload credit card statements and invoices for payment by the Finance team.
- Record and reconcile petty cash expenditure.
- Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of all income received, responding to any queries.
General Office Administration:
- Order office stationery and fundraising supplies, as required.
- Co-ordinate general office maintenance, as required.
- Arrange accommodation for staff travel to Shrewsbury.

Knowledge, Experience and Other Requirements:
Essential
- Relevant qualifications from a Further Education Institution or equivalent office/administration experience in a busy environment, preferably in fundraising or marketing.
- Excellent planning, administrative, organisational and time management skills, to deliver and cope with a busy workload.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent keyboard and numeracy skills, with a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude; flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently.
- Commitment to Self Help Africa’s vision of an economically thriving and resilient rural Africa.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of marketing/relationship CRM databases, such as Salesforce.
- Experience of processing and managing data.
- Educated to degree level.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- First Aid Certificate.
