We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser with a passion for people and a track record for delivering financial results to become our Head of Fundraising.
We are an independent local charity in the Heart of Kent (Aylesford), offering a wide range of services to support local people and their loved ones, who are living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we support over 1000 patients at any one time between our Inpatient Unit and Community teams. The majority of this care is funded by the support given to us by our local community.
Being Head of Fundraising at Heart of Kent Hospice
As Head of Fundraising, you’ll be heading up an incredible team of 6 dedicated fundraising staff who, along with the support of our volunteers, work tirelessly to support our Hospice. Their dedication to, and care for, our supporters generates over £1.8 million annually, which is vital for funding our care.
This role is a hands-on, doing role, responsible for the day-to-day running of the fundraising function at the Hospice. The fundraising portfolio is both varied and diverse and the Head of Fundraising will be in amongst the team, overseeing the delivery and focusing on achieving and exceeding budget.
Working with the Communications Team you’ll support the team deliver integrated fundraising activity and develop outstanding supporter experiences and onward journeys.
Working with the Deputy Director of Fundraising and Communications you will support the development and oversee the delivery of a truly diverse fundraising portfolio that meets the needs of our changing community and their future interests and needs.
The fundraising team will be stewarding our incredible supporters and donors across fundraising events, community fundraising, challenge events, Corporate, In memory and regular giving portfolios.
Experience at a senior level in managing a varied and innovative fundraising environment, with a £1 million+ turnover, is crucial. Equally important is your passion, and drive, to make a difference and achieve results to make a profound difference. Please refer to the role JD for more information around main responsibilities.
Essential Criteria for the Role
o Extensive and progressive experience in fundraising, fundraising product development, or related fields, preferably within the healthcare or nonprofit sector.
o Have a pragmatic, creative and innovative approach to problem solving and decision making.
o Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - able to communicate and build relationships with an array of people.
o Experience in developing fundraising products and supporter journeys.
o Experienced in budget setting and ongoing budget management, including reforecasting and day-to-day budget management and reporting.
o Experience with data analysis, and how to use this insight to progress future activity.
o Enthusiastic and pro-active, with a can-do attitude.
o Experience of and a passion for delivering high quality customer or supporter care while working efficiently and accurately.
o Enjoy collaborating with other team members.
o Excellent attention to detail.
o Experienced in IT - using databases to log and keep information accurately up to date, in a timely manner (the Hospice uses Raisers Edge).
o Excellent time management and organisation skills, to be able to manage multiple tasks at once.

At The Compassionate Friends (TCF) we are passionate about providing peer support to grieving parents and their families whose son or daughter has died at any age (from one month old to an adult) and from any cause. We offer this support through our network of over 300 dedicated volunteers who are themselves bereaved parents or siblings. We are now seeking an Events & Community Fundraiser to join our small, but dedicated and hardworking, staff team to help us to develop our funding to continue our vital work. Community Fundraiser
Location: HEMS Way, Lincoln, LN4 2GW - We currently operate a Hybrid Working system of a minimum of 3 days in the officer and 2 days at home.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) provides lifesaving critical care to the communities of Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire, funded by public donations. If somebody is involved in a serious incident or suddenly taken ill, speed and time are of the essence. Giving a patient the best chance of survival, our Air Ambulance crew effectively take the A&E department to the scene of the emergency.
About the Role
Due to an internal promotion this a great opportunity to join our fundraising team.
This includes to:-
- Motivate and facilitate our wonderful supporters to maximise the funds they raise.
- Inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters always ensuring they receive the best possible supporter experience.
- Maximise the ethical and sustainable generation of funds for the Charity through proactively developing community fundraising across Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire in line with the current strategy.
- Work as a part of the wider Fundraising team, contribute to our shared team goals and income targets.

Our Benefits
We offer our employees 25 days per annum annual leave, in addition to bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff) which increases by 1 additional day per completed year of service. The position:
We are seeking a creative, collaborative and effective fundraiser to drive long-lasting improvements for millions of farmed animals.

Hours:
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.
Who you are:
We are looking for someone who can, through compelling and inspiring writing and communication, engage donors and potential funders in a variety of different formats, whether that’s email updates, thanking them for their support, or drafting a funding proposal. Ultimately, you will need to be able to bring them closer to our work, so that they can understand their individual contribution and the impact their donations can have, and are more likely to take action as a result.
You will also need to be able to build strong relationships, with the ability to understand the motivations of our donors, demonstrate the impact of our work, spot opportunities to engage them, and ask for their financial support at the right time.
Many of our donors come from the Effective Altruism (EA) community, so having an understanding of this community and how to engage it will be helpful. Coordinating the major donor version of our annual supporter survey - collaborating with colleagues to align this to our general supporter survey, targeting questions with a major donor audience in mind, collating and analysing responses, and using them to inform and develop our major donor programme.

Main Responsibilities
As one of our regionally dispersed Community Fundraiser's, you'll be joining a busy team, where you will manage relationships with our key supporters with the primary purpose of generating income across a geographical area, through community fundraising activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering income targets across the region by building strong relationships with individuals, local companies, community groups and volunteers, in line with our community fundraising strategy. You will also be responsible for the management and support of local third-party events in your region and in providing excellent stewardship to those supporters.
This role is home-based with regular travel across the region. There will also be regular travel to Diabetes UK offices for meetings.
Ideal Candidate
You'll be able to demonstrate a track record of meeting income targets through relationship fundraising. You'll be experienced in building and maintaining relationships with supporters and colleagues. A proactive person, you'll be self-motivated and able to work independently with a solution focussed approach. As an experienced fundraiser, you'll be confident working towards income and expenditure targets and reporting on financial progress. It is desirable that you have managed and secured corporate partnerships and have event management knowledge, though training will be provided.
You will have a passion for building excellent relationships with your supporters to increase loyalty and life-long relationships with the charity.

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.
Aims:
- Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
- Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
- Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families
Context of role:
2wish supports anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are a largely self-funded charity providing support across Wales and more recently, in the bordering counties with England. Our support team works very closely with our fundraising team to increase income but also to raise awareness of the work of 2wish.
This is a unique opportunity for two individuals to raise awareness of the charity, building it’s profile and engaging communities across the English counties that border Wales. It will involve helping to organise fundraising events, working with volunteers and encouraging community fundraising opportunities.

- To help raise awareness of 2wish and the work we do in England
- To work alongside the support team in England, Phase I and to build on the reputation of 2wish

We need an events manager who is adept at managing projects and events, working with our fundraisers and encouraging our supporters to get involved in our events such as our annual trek, the prestigious Care Sector Ball, and all the other events we’re involved in. The salary for this position is £28,723 (FTE £35,904) – Manager Level, part time (28 hours – 4 days per week). We have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at our Colchester offices. We offer a lot of flexibility in working practices and there is free reserved parking available. We also offer 26 days annual leave plus public holidays (pro-rated), pension, and support from an in-house well-being team.

The training you will undertake from this 13-month course coupled with the RSPB induction programme and on-the-job learning will provide you with the skills, behaviours, and knowledge to identify, build and maintain relationships to raise financial (such as funds) and non-financial support (such as raising awareness) for the RSPB.

About the Role
Did you know that one-third of the RSPB's income comes from memberships? Our members are the backbone of our work, providing essential support through their generous donations which helps us in our efforts to give nature the home it deserves.
Through your studies/coaching and mentorship you will learn to engage in meaningful conversations to highlight the benefits of becoming an RSPB member and showcase how their contributions make a significant impact on our conservation efforts. The role will involve working 3 out of 4 weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Each day you will travel to different venues in your RSPB van, set up an attractive fundraising stand, and spend the day actively engaging with members of the public, spreading awareness about our conservation efforts and generating new RSPB memberships via direct debits.
- You will attend regular meetings with your Area Manager and regional Teams and either virtually or on occasions in person. You will undertake your course virtually.
- You will have 6 hours per week dedicated to study, which would be in addition to your development day where you will undertake training and development to further support you in your role.

- Upon completion you will be awarded a Level 3 Apprenticeship Certificate in Fundraising.
You will also have opportunity to meet other apprentices, learn about ethical fundraising, learn what motivates people to donate, understand how storytelling works in fundraising, gain understanding on how to build rapport and trust. Your apprenticeship course and working with our existing fundraisers will help you develop the necessary skills in how to fundraise successfully.
Requirements:
- Driver's license valid for use in the UK.
- Willingness to work 3 out of 4 weekends.
- Ability to work outdoors and independently - One day you could be outside a store on the Highstreets, the next at one of our reserves. Wherever you will be working for the day you will have 4 weeks’ notice in advance. Initially you will be teamed up with a buddy but eventually you will work alone.
- GCSC (English and Math's) – preferable. If not, you will be expected to do an additional functional skills element to your apprenticeship.
