Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Executive Director to lead ProVeg UK in this next phase of growth and impact. ProVeg UK has a very strong track record in influencing public food through its School Plates programme, which has, to date, swapped over 47m meals from meat-based to plant-based or veggie. We work in over 8,000 schools across the UK, reaching over 1.3 million children every day. We are keen to expand this excellent work to a wider range of stakeholders, including hospitals (a new manager has just been recruited to develop a Hospital Plates pilot), policymakers, the corporate sector and media. 

The Executive Director will be at the forefront of this expansion, while also ensuring the continued success of our existing programmes. Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver ProVeg UK’s long-term strategy aligned with ProVeg International’s mission
• Lead the design and scaling of UK-based programmes that create measurable impact and reflect local opportunities and needs

Stakeholder Engagement & Fundraising

Qualifications

Essential

• Proven leadership experience (5+ years at deputy- or C-level)  in a UK-based NGO or mission-driven organisation, ideally in food, climate, or health sectors
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and partnership building, especially with foundations, governments, or climate philanthropies
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to develop and execute impactful strategies
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience speaking to media and government bodies, at public events, and with internal stakeholders of all levels (Board, Senior Leadership Team, Staff and Volunteers)
• Deep understanding of UK funding landscape, policy environment, and relevant NGOs 
• Experience leading diverse and remote teams, with a collaborative and empowering leadership style

ADSS (Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services) believes in enabling those who live with dementia to live well. ADSS is Kent’s biggest independent charity dedicated to providing support to people affected by dementia. Following a significant expansion in 2022, the team is now supporting more people than ever before. We are currently Kent Charity of the Year and Kent Disability Charity of the Year, and have a proven track record in delivering high impact services.

Summary of the role

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the role will support the implementation of our 2030 Fundraising Strategy in collaboration with colleagues in Fundraising, Communications and Delivery Teams. The post holder will have responsibility for maintaining and growing Individual Giving, through key digital platforms. They will support the Head of Fundraising in researching and implementing new platforms as ADSS develops its fundraising capacity and capability.

The successful candidate will bring creativity, innovation, and great donor stewardship and retention skills to ensure that the Charity achieves its ambitious fundraising goals.

Main purpose of job

The individual Giving Fundraiser will be responsible for the delivery of ADSS fundraising from individual donors, primarily through digital platforms.

The post holder will handle stewardship contact with all individual donors and fundraisers with warmth and appropriate enthusiasm and sensitivity. Our supporters participate in a variety of events and have a range of motivations for giving to the Charity including families who are raising funds in memory of a loved one.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will gain exposure to a variety of income streams through collaboration with Fundraising colleagues and volunteers.

Together, you will explore opportunities to diversify ADSS’s funding streams and look for ways digital platforms can enhance Corporate and Community Fundraising and vice versa.

The Role Responsibilities

Maintain and grow ADSS’s income from individual supporters with a focus on digital platforms.

Lead on the delivery of acquisition and retention campaigns and optimising supporter journeys.

Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns.

Fundraising Strategy and Planning:

·Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including regular giving, to support ADSS’s mission, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

·Organise and execute fundraising campaigns and events, including individual giving, special events, and online fundraising efforts.

·Prepare and present detailed reports on fundraising progress to leadership and maintain an accurate pipeline.

·Monitor expenditure for individual events and campaigns to secure a profitable return on investment.

·Support the team to identify and develop new revenue streams to increase support for ADSS programmes and services.

·Keep up to date with industry developments to contribute to the overall development of the fundraising department. Continually monitor digital trends and be willing to adapt to this quickly changing area.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

·In collaboration with the Communications Team, increase our geographical area of reach and influence, across Kent, to grow our donor base.

·Work with families and the wider ADSS team to support the development of case studies to tell donors the stories of ADSS’s work.

·Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring their continued support.

·Implement strategies for donor recognition and retention, including personalised outreach, acknowledgements, impact reports, and engagement opportunities.

·Develop and maximise communication tools and materials to keep all donors updated with our key messaging and impact.

·Engage with the community through various communication channels, promoting the organisation’s mission and fundraising opportunities.

·Manage online platforms and income pages of our website to maximise the potential channels for donation.

Corporate and Community Partnerships:

Work with the Corporate and Community Fundraisers to:

·Develop Individual Giving programmes within Corporate and Community partnerships

·Ensure that digital platforms support their efforts to cultivate relationships with local businesses and community groups to secure sponsorships, partnerships, and in-kind donations.

·Engage community leaders and influencers to increase visibility and support for ADSS’s fundraising efforts.

·Explore the role of digital platforms in new partnerships to diversify revenue streams and enhance community engagement.

Donor Database Management:

·Maintain and update our donor database, ensuring accurate records of donations, communications, and engagement history.

·Analyse one-off and regular giving performance and optimise programmes based on insights

·Manage the Membership recruitment process

·Track progress towards fundraising goals, preparing regular reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting military children and young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 700 young people, and we have big ambitions to support over 1,000 children annually by 2030.

We are now looking for an experienced Events Manager to join our small but effective team.

Role Mission:

To be at the heart of planning, promoting and delivering diverse, exciting, and high-impact events that will engage supporters, create bonding opportunities for families, and connect our team.

This role will be accountable for:

Supporting the event owner in the successful planning and execution of all events across the charity, including the Families, Supporter and Operations Teams at Scotty's. This will include developing, promoting and delivering a range of events that align with our mission and values, drives supporter engagement, cultivates opportunities for our families to bond, and provides team collaboration.

What are the 3-month goals for this role:

· Can articulate the charity’s goals, culture, and impact, and how the Events Manager role supports this to happen. 

· Has a good understanding of the events plans for each team and the upcoming and year to view calendar of events.

· Establish initial contact with key stakeholders, including team members, partners, and supporters.

What are the 6-month goals for this role:

· Conduct an audit of current event plans and materials and speak with at current partners for feedback and learnings.

· Develop a comprehensive event strategy, outlining key tactics, timelines, and performance metrics.

· Identify and qualify suitable venues for upcoming events, ensuring they align with the charity's mission and values

· Establish success measures and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse event results, and identify areas for improvement.

What are the 9-month goals for this role:

· Improve specific performance metrics, such as event budget management, event marketing effectiveness, and attendee satisfaction within the first nine months.

· Develop a comprehensive event strategy, outlining key tactics, timelines, and performance metrics.

· Track success measures and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse event results, and identify areas for improvement.

What are the key responsibilities of this role:

• Develop and implement event plans with clear deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with our partners and suppliers, ensuring required service levels are met.
• Identify and secure suitable venues that align with the event's theme and requirements.
• Negotiate with venues to obtain the best deals, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
• Arrange catering services that meet the dietary needs and preferences of attendees.
• Book travel and accommodation for team members, families and other guests as needed, ensuring comfort and convenience.
• Assist with communications and marketing efforts to promote events and increase attendance.
• Manage event setup and takedown, ensuring all elements are in place and the venue is left in good condition.
• Oversee the design, sourcing, ordering, and delivery of branded materials (e.g., welcome packs, T-shirts, banners) to enhance the event experience.
• Write accurate risk assessments and ensure event safety, particularly for children, by identifying potential hazards and implementing preventive measures.
• Accountability for health and safety compliance at events, adhering to legal requirements and best practices.
• Implement appropriate safeguarding measures at events attended by families, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
• Coordinate event activities, ensuring they run smoothly and according to schedule.
• Arrange and facilitate pre- and post-event meetings (e.g., briefings, wash-ups, debriefs) to ensure all team members are informed and any issues are addressed.
• Adhere to budget constraints set by the Event Owner, ensuring all expenses are accounted for and within limits.
• Provide appropriate updates to the Event Owner and team members accordingly.

· Planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of fundraising events, including venue selection, logistics, budgeting, and marketing. 

· Managing event timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless execution and cost-effectiveness. 

· Developing and implementing strategies to maximise event attendance and fundraising revenue.

Desirable

· Knowledge or experience of or with the military community.

· Events Management experience within the charity sector.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fundraising Manager to join us on a part-time or full-time basis (minimum 3 days per week). This role will lead and manage our small fundraising team and drive income generation across a range of activities. This is a key role responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of our fundraising strategy, ensuring we achieve our financial targets and can continue to provide essential support to survivors.

The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the CEO, Business Development Officer, Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, and the wider team, to implement both strategic and operational elements of our fundraising efforts. This includes leading on the coordination and delivery of our multi-strand fundraising strategy, specifically including corporate fundraising, sponsorship opportunities, and the development of income-generating training and development programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing distinct strategies for longer-term contract funding, while ensuring alignment with the overarching fundraising strategy.

This role reports directly to the CEO and is a permanent contract, with a competitive salary range of £38,850 - £43,050 (pro rata if part time). It includes a generous 30-day annual leave allowance, plus bank holidays, with 5 days to be taken over Christmas (as the office is closed for two weeks).

This role offers flexibility and can be undertaken remotely for the right candidate, with travel required to our Carlisle headquarters on an ad hoc basis as required.
