This role joins our Fundraising Team to inspire members and donors to support Surfers Against Sewage and protect the ocean.

Leading our membership, donor development, and legacy programmes, you’ll help raise +£3mil in total each year as a team, to fund our ocean-saving campaigns. You’ll develop and deliver the membership programme, ensuring members feel valued as an integral part of the SAS community, and communicate the impact of their support.

Taking an insight-led approach, and working closely with our Senior IG & Supporter Engagement Officer (Acquisition), you’ll ensure new members and donors have an exceptional onboarding journey, as well as ongoing stewardship. You’ll also work together to plan and deliver annual appeals, collaborating and coordinating with teams across the charity to raise significant unrestricted income.

You’ll nurture relationships with our legacy pledgers, in-memory and mid-value donors, both reactively and at key moments throughout the year. And in the longer term, you’ll continue developing and marketing our legacy offering.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Work effectively with others to develop funding proposals for CSE projects.
• Lead the response to competitive Invitations to Tender, which require a specific and timely response to a client’s brief and the ability to highlight and sell relevant CSE strengths and expertise.
• Support our development process by giving direction, supervision, and support to all contributing staff.
• Work with delivery teams and colleagues to set project budgets, costing work accurately using CSE’s development and financial tools.
• Ensure effective set up of new projects and facilitate the handover when a project bid has a successful outcome.
• Ensure appropriate quality checks are carried out on all proposals.

Fauna & Flora is seeking a highly experienced professional to manage it’s fundraising from a portfolio of statutory (government and multilateral) donors, such as Defra, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service etc.

You will support colleagues and partners to develop high-quality proposal packages for priority donors, and ensure their timely submission. You will coordinate proposals and reporting internally, and ensure all documents produced for donors meet their criteria, as well as follow Fauna & Flora approval and submission procedures. There is a strong capacity development element to this work, and you will share knowledge, learning and resources across Fauna & Flora to maximise success rate and promote best practice in grant management and donor stewardship. You may also develop and deliver training packages, in Cambridge and potentially overseas. You will monitor Fauna & Flora’s activities in statutory fundraising and fund management within your portfolio, and support internal decision-making and strategy development by sharing this learning.

Experience of working with government funding sources, be they bilateral and/or multilateral, is essential for this role. You will have proven experience of securing restricted funding from government sources, and a strong understanding of how statutory donors and funding programmes support the achievement of international targets and government priorities. Knowledge of and experience in biodiversity conservation, the development sector, and/or climate is an asset; a commitment to learning and supporting these sectors is essential. You may have worked in the non-profit sector, such as international development, or have a background in bid management, proposal development, and grant fundraising.

Strong relationship-management and communications skills are essential to the role, to develop positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional teams, non-governmental partners, and government agencies. You will be diplomatic and persuasive, and your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to coordinate people and processes to meet timelines. You will be a strong team player and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where the ability to respond swiftly to changing organisational and team needs is paramount. With a proactive and pre-emptive approach to your work, you will seek to add value and work with minimal supervision.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Skills in languages relevant to Fauna & Flora’s programme (e.g., French, Spanish, Bahasa) are highly desirable. Sensitivity to the different working environments and capacities of colleagues around the world is also essential.

Partnerships management:

1. NURTURE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR PARTNERS: Manage and foster excellent relationships with our long-term partners supporting our conservation work in Indonesian Borneo, including NGOs, zoos, corporates and other organisations; extend thanks and provide resources and advice to support them with their activities.

2. SHOUT ABOUT CLIMATE CONSERVATION: Report progress on our conservation work in Indonesian Borneo to long-term partners by drafting high-quality reports in close collaboration and support to our Grants Officer.
Fundraising:

3. SECURE FUNDING TO DO GOOD: Support the development and expansion of BNF International’s fundraising activities by identifying and securing new opportunities and
partnerships, participating in the BNF Global Outreach Team working groups and supporting the Marketing and Fundraising Manager.

4.FUNDRAISE FOR OUR 1 MILLION TREES CAMPAIGN: develop opportunities for the BNF 1 Million Trees Campaign and further reforestation campaigns by identifying dedicated habitat restoration and tree-planting donors globally; introducing our project and establishing partnerships, bringing directors into the conversation as necessary, and managing relationships with donors in the long term.

5. COLLABORATE: Identify and follow-up on new fundraising opportunities which BNF can set up or take part in to widen our reach and encourage members of the public to support or fundraise for BNF, for example by way of BNF-led challenges, charity places in sponsored events, online fundraising and other means of raising funds and awareness.

6.REPRESENT US: Occasionally attend external events to support partnership development and individual giving fundraising.

General:

7.Provide general support across the BNF International organisation and wider BNF family, to all staff and volunteers, to help ensure the efficient, effective and successful running of our activities; and to provide advice and insight to enhance the effectiveness and impact of BNF International.

Please have all or some of the following skills and experience:
-Educated at degree or master’s level in a conservation or related scientific area.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East River's Trust's Finance and Operation's Team.  The team supports the organisation with a broad range of financial and administrative tasks, to ensure its smoothed running, development and growth.  The role would suit an individual with a financial background, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.

The role will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation.  The successful applicant will come from a financial background and have a strong understanding of financial principles with an accounting qualification.  They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses.  Whilst this role focuses on the financial aspects of SERT, it will also play a key part in supporting with the set up of IT equipment, new financial systems and general IT queries, with help from our external IT supplier.

To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, have excellent communication skills and the ability to support and advise staff across all teams.  They will need to have a positive attitude, be proactive and supportive in assisting the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required.  This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week working in the office in Leatherhead.

About the role

You will be responsible for planning and organising a calendar of events for our team to attend, from shopping centres to country shows, high streets to our reserves, and everything in between, so that they can inspire members of the public to become members of the RSPB.

Our aim is to inspire external partners about our attendance at their events or venues. We are looking for someone who is a confident relationship builder with excellent telephone and email manners and communication and negotiation skills. You must have impeccable organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and be able to manage several tasks at once, recording all key details on our CRM database system daily to ensure that our team of Membership Fundraisers have everything they need to attend their events and venues.

You will be part of a successful and energetic team covering the whole UK. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the country. This position can be conducted from home, however, occasional travel, including to a local office, reserve or elsewhere in the United Kingdom, will be required.

Slimbridge Wetland Centre is looking for a Visitor Experience Manager to lead both our paid and volunteer teams, champion cross departmental working and achieve an inspiring and engaging visitor experience.

Working with the General Manager, you will ensure that visitor experience is at the forefront of everything we do, including how we engage with our visitors before, during and after their visit.

As our Visitor Experience Manager, you will lead and support our Learning, Engagement & Events, Visitor Services and Administration teams. You are responsible for conveying a warm welcome at the admissions desk and the business reception, delivering events & engagement programmes throughout the centre and overseeing formal learning, and the Scott House Museum.

As an Eden Project Apprentice you will spend on average 6 hours a week studying a taught element delivered by one of our partner training providers. Each month you will also take part in our Sustainable Enterprise programme which helps you develop a range of skills, from teamwork to communication, alongside fellow apprentices from a range of disciplines. There are also opportunities to gain experience working with a variety of other teams, to get a fuller understanding of how your department fits within the larger organisation and how your role contributes to our mission.

Fundraising plays an essential role towards fulfilling Eden’s mission to create a future we all want to live in. You’ll play a key part in communicating our mission to and inspiring our donors, as well as undertaking market and competitor research in order to identify potential new fundraising opportunities for Eden.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual, with a good level of organisation and creative thinking.

One day per week will be spent studying towards a Level 3 qualification in Fundraising.

The Role:

Join PML in a pivotal role to contribute to our mission through philanthropic fundraising. We seek a skilled grant-writer who is motivated by our mission of science for society and the planet.

Responsibilities:

· Prospect research

o Develop a high degree of awareness of PML’s work, achievements and funding needs

o Research prospective funders via funding directories, online research, and networking

o Liaise with funders to obtain information about funding opportunities

o Alert colleagues to relevant funding opportunities

· Proposal development

o Carry out desk research to gather information in support of funding proposals

o Organise and facilitate project planning meetings with colleagues and partners

o Write and edit compelling funding proposals

o Support the preparation of project budgets

· Donor cultivation

o Support the Head of Fundraising to build relationships with funders via written communications and meetingsface-to-face

· Other duties

o Maintain records on funders and proposals

o Ensure all fundraising activities are carried out in accordance with the Fundraising Code of Practice and relevant regulations such as GDPR

About You (Essential):

• Fundraising experience with a proven track record of grant success.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including active listening and the ability to write clear and compelling prose.
•  Highly motivated for the role. Demonstrate strong commitment to PML’s vision, mission and values.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including being personable, tactful, and able to build positive working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including funders.
• Strong analytical skills. Able to recognise funders’ priorities and judge their alignment with PML’s work. Able to think critically and use quantitative and qualitative information to develop compelling cases for support tailored to audiences.
• Strong organisational skills, capable of effectively planning and managing multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Curious to learn and able to quickly grasp new subject matter (i.e., PML’s science).
• Scientifically literate and environmentally aware.
• Sufficient numerical ability and command of spreadsheets to prepare sound project budgets.
• Proficient in MS Office and gathering information from online research.
• Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Desirable:

• Awareness of the philanthropic funding landscape for environmental science.
• Established network within relevant sectors.

Our Fundraising Team is formed of several fundraising strands, an established grants programme, a digital fundraising stream raising income from the public, and a philanthropy team working with individuals. We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Officer to join us to support our exciting fundraising initiatives.

What you’ll do (key responsibilities)

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting our Fundraising team across; Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors and Individual Giving.

In assisting with the coordination of the fundraising portfolio, the main responsibilities of the role will include:

• Leading on the delivery of 2 x Individual Giving appeals per year (Big Give);
• Leading on our Gift Aid management for all donors;
• Monitoring our team inbox, online and postal donations and ensuring a high level of donor care is maintained, including thanking and being the first point of contact for individual donor enquiries;
• Maintaining up-to-date supporter records on our database and identifying opportunities to improve processes for tracking relationships and capturing data on our progress;
• Prospect Research for trusts, foundations, statutory funders, as well as major donors identified by the team;
• Acting as the Relationship Manager for a small pipeline of Trust and Foundations;
• Assisting in the planning, administration and delivery of fundraising and stewardship events;
• Assisting in regular reporting and updates to both staff and funders;
• Working with our Finance team to track donation payments, process invoices etc;
• Supporting the Senior Fundraising Manager and the Communications team in the online planning, administration and analysis of Individual Giving Programmes;
• Supporting with copywriting and pulling information together to share with funders;
• Support with management of donation platforms;
• Other ad-hoc administrative duties as and when required.
