Overview of job
We are hiring a Finance and Grants Assistant to support financial and grants operations processes. Responsibilities include participating in the operational and administrative activities of the finance function, leading to the accurate recording of financial information for accounting purposes, as well as managing financial records, and supporting our grant-making processes.

Measures of success
In the first few months, you would have:

Successfully complete daily and weekly finance and grants tasks, successfully managing the finance and grants email inboxes and be confident answering questions and resolving queries.

Developed your knowledge of our supported charities and funding portfolio, getting to know plenty of our projects and working with them to produce case studies, stories and fulfilling other storytelling opportunities.
Responsibilities of the role
Finance – approx. 40%
Day-to-day financial management of the charity and its Trading subsidiary including, but not limited to:
-
Process all day-to-day transactions on the finance system, Xero, including income received from fundraising platforms, ensuring a full audit trail of data processing.

Complete daily bank reconciliations for all entities, including recording and banking cheques and processing petty cash.
-
Raise sales invoices as requested, following procedures to set up in customer systems, and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment.
-
Process purchase invoices and expense claims, ensuring appropriate authorisation, in line with delegated authorisations.
-
Set up weekly payment runs for approval by the Head of Finance.
-
Monitor all financial processes, ensuring finance policies are complied with and deadlines are met, including electronic and physical filing of finance and legal documents.

Complete month end tasks, enabling to the Head of Finance to close the month, including selected balance sheet reconciliations.

Keep Gift Aid records up-to-date and assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of Gift Aid claims.

Assist with the year-end audit, ensuring all relevant paperwork is tidily filed.

Collaborating with the fundraising team, exploring fundraising and donation collection mechanics, identify new developments in the sector and helping to embed any system changes.

Train and support the charity team on the charity’s finance processes.

Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.
Grants – approx. 60%
-
Support the Grants Team to process charity applications for funding, including communicating with interested parties, summarising applications, compiling relevant information, conducting research as required and helping to organise related meetings and Grants Panels.

Preparing and processing funding agreements, reporting forms and other associated paperwork for grants.

Working with charities to collect and develop storytelling information such as quotes, pictures and case studies, and support sourcing participants and contributors for radio interviews and other editorial pieces as needed.

Supporting the team in the organisation, planning and delivery of our skills training programme for charities.

Writing copy for our website and newsletters, and ownership of our communication planner for our charities.

Managing the Grants Team inbox and being the first point of call for queries.

Leading on the management of data and uploading of information on our database (Salesforce), complying with GDPR requirements.

General administrative tasks across the both the Grants and wider charities team, undertaking adhoc projects and supporting initiatives and events as requested.

Assisting the Grants Managers in all administrative aspects of support.

The Youth Participation Worker will facilitate and develop a Youth steering group, support aftercare for young people leaving treatment, coordinate and facilitate diversionary activities to support young people and their families.
The post holder will develop and support delivery of all volunteer programmes inclusive of Peer Support and Peer Mentoring Programmes, to include the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers/peer mentors. As well as significant knowledge and experience of working with young people, you have knowledge of project planning and experience of working in the substance misuse sector. At FearFree we are proud to deliver services across the Southwest, and we're excited to be expanding our offer, with the introduction of a new Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Service. We have a full time vacancy (37 hours per week) and a part time vacancy (22.5 hours per week).
As a Support Advisor you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the ETE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.
You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Devon. The project aims to:
- Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
- Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
- Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
- Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
- Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.
The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of the ETE sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. This new position will be a critical role in the charity as we enter a new decade with an exciting opportunity to help shape our future growth. The role will work across the entire charity, and at every level of the organisation, providing an excellent opportunity to get involved across all aspects of our operations. The role will work closely with our Trustee Board and Charity Director, supporting with diary management, governance support, minute-taking and taking forward key actions.

Support the Head of Finance and Governance with relevant Trustee checks and forms, ensuring compliance with Companies House and Charities Commission.

Camphill Village Trust is seeking a new Data Officer to join their team. Camphill Village Trust is a UK charity that supports over 600 adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues, and complex needs across nine communities and services in England through supported living and day placement opportunities.
A significant aspect involves managing the Charity’s IT hardware and software to ensure they meet the organisation's needs, including planning upgrades and coordinating IT training events. Additionally, the role covers managing telecommunications and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mass Participation Team, helping to coordinate a portfolio of third-party challenge events that drive participation and income for Teenage Cancer Trust.
As the Mass Participation Third Party Events Executive you will be responsible for the end to end coordination for all challenge events within your portfolio. These events include Edinburgh Marathon Festival, Tough Mudder and supporting on the London Marathon.
Your project management skills will enable high quality third party event delivery, through efficient planning, marketing, stewardship and evaluations. Using your relationship management experience, you’ll prioritise a supporter-focussed approach to increase average gifts and overall engagement to encourage life-time support. This role will play a vital part in ensuring cancer doesn’t stop young people living their lives.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone to utilise their project management skills, from planning to evaluation, to deliver some of the charity’s third-party fundraising events.
- Someone who can deliver excellent and impactful supporter experiences to increase average gifts and encourage life-time support
- Someone with relationship management experience to collaborate across the charity and with external stakeholders to deliver great results
- Someone to play a vital role in driving income to ensure cancer doesn’t stop young people living their lives.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.
Following a successful trial in several surgeries, this service is now being rolled out across Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay. So, this is a very exciting opportunity to take ownership and be part of an innovative new service, delivering real improvements to the local community.
You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.
You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.
Key responsibilities:
- To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic violence/ abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV) advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced DVA/SV, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate.
- To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients who are affected by DVA/SV.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with general practice teams.
- To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around DVA and SV to practice teams.
- To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer.
- To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians.
- To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes.
- Provide in-house training & refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV).
Advocacy and support work
- Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
- Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice.
- Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
- Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users.
Practice-based work
- Arrange dates for refresher training sessions with practices.
- Deliver DVA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
- Promote awareness of the experiences and needs of people affected by DVA and SV, particularly in relation to their health.
- Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team.
General
- Attend and participate in required meetings.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the North region. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the North region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. Lincolnshire Crisis Service have two houses in the county, one in Boston and another in Lincoln, we provide a range of support for people with mental ill health and both work to a recovery model. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. This role does require you to work varied hours as the service is 24/7 and may include some sleep in shifts, these are paid in addition.
