At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for a Policy and Campaigns Officer to join our team on a part time (0.4 FTE) basis.

The postholder will have a track record of influencing policy and an understanding and passion for issues affecting autistic children and young people across a range of areas, including education, employment, health and social care. Main Responsibilities:

 Duty Officer:

 – Opening and closing of the Sovereign Centre, depending on shift, and ensure the safety of the area in adherence with YMCA procedures.

– To ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, i.e. fire evacuation, safety of facility users, assisting with any accidents that occur and giving first aid if needed.

– To follow YMCA safeguarding policy to ensure that vulnerable adults and young people are properly protected.

– Setting up/down rooms for hire including equipment, checking for damage and ensure it is safe to use.

– Overseeing rooms and facilities, general tidying and ensure all areas are safe including storage and outside spaces.

– Assisting with reception duties including taking payments for activities, answering visitor enquiries and promoting YMCA services.

– Answering the telephone and deal with enquiries or forwarding on to appropriate Team.

– Complete food safety and hygiene checks, maintaining records as required.

– Fire warden duties

– Dealing with any incidents whilst on duty and recording on My Concern.

– Supporting Teams who run services in the centre

– Act as concierge as necessary.

Building Administration:

– Identifying any maintenance needs and logging requests via Pyramid, progressing outstanding works and overseeing any works being undertaken when on site.

– Maintain supplies of the centre’s cleaning and household products by running efficient stock control and cost-effective purchasing of supplies.

– Re-stocking and purchasing of first aid supplies, keeping all kits full and in date.

– Supporting Hirers with enquiries, invoices, hold agreements and dealing with bookings.

– Maintain the Sovereign Centre calendar for all bookings.

– Complete building inductions, maintain key presses and up to to date key holder list.

– Ensuring DO pack, PEEP forms and building risk assessments are reviewed and kept up to date.

– Create, fill and distribution of monthly DO rota for the centre.

– Keeping Sovereign building paperwork and on-line folders safe, secure and up to date.

– To support and promote all services which run from centre as required.

– Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings and forums related to the CYP services activities.

– Supporting the wider work of the Association including charity events.

– Any other duties required within the grade and renumeration of the role.

– We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults. This role will require an enhanced DBS disclosure (with barred children/vulnerable adults).  We require you to understand and demonstrate this commitment and attend any required training.

Job Purpose:We are looking for a competent and reliable person to undertake a range of duties to ensure the safe and smooth running of the YMCA Sovereign Centre. You will be the Duty Officer; responsible building security and building related admin tasks. You will also cover reception and deal with general enquiries. A commitment to friendly, customer-focus service is essential.

Hours of work:Av 26 hours per week. Monday to Friday 4:30pm - 9:00pm and 2 Saturday per month (Except August) 8:00am - 5:00pm (with 1 hour break)

As the Senior Education Advisor, you will have a strong focus on our work on Teacher Wellbeing and Professional Development. Save the Children UK leads the Enabling Teachers Common Approach for the Movement and seeks to ensure our programming with teachers delivers improvements in learning outcomes. This role would lead aspects of our Enabling Teachers work and represent it externally and internally. It will also ensure we are building evidence of learning in our teacher and other education programmes, especially acquisition of foundational skills. 

You will be responsible for leadership in this focus area for SCUK and across the Movement to advance the organisations strategy ambition and LEARN Global Goal. This will include global thought leadership internally and externally in this focus area. This role will provide leadership to advance our teacher work through advocacy, programming, thought leadership and evidence & learning.

In this role, you will:   

• Provide global leadership (e.g., in internal and external working groups) in the technical area within the Save the Children Movement and/or wider sector. 
• Lead on elements of Save the Children UK's strategy with minimum supervision, reflecting your high-level responsibilities, and articulate a compelling vision to inspire others to achieve our ambitious goals for children. 
• Play a leadership role in the technical design and delivery of high-quality, strategic, inclusive, and impactful programmes, working collaboratively with stakeholders, and particularly with colleagues in country offices and partners.
• Lead the development and implementation of technical strategies and products (such as best practice & evidence based approaches, minimum standards, and publications) to a high standard.

About you 
To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience and knowledge working in international development programming
• Experience of providing technical assistance and individual mentoring to NGO programmes teams in education
• Experience in the design, implementation and management of education programmes
• Experience of working in a matrix-managed context and promoting change across multiple networks
• Understanding of; child rights principles, gender and education & conflict sensitive education.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, and the ability to think and plan strategically; well-developed negotiation and communication skills, including spoken and written English.
• An internationally recognised postgraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Teacher training qualification or experience in teaching experience would be desirable
• Working knowledge of French is desirable
• Ability to travel up to 40% of work time.

They ensure that victims are supported to recover, and perpetrators are supported to change their behaviour.

Refuge workers will provide safety planning, support, advice, and assistance to children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge. The work will focus on preventing domestic abuse by providing support and facilitating safe space for children and young people and peer support networks in the refuge and supporting children and young people to keep safe in/maintain their refuge accommodation.
 
Additionally, you will establish and maintain links with statutory and voluntary agencies; to promote and support the welfare of families who have experienced domestic abuse. Form and maintain relationships with local specialist domestic abuse services, and finally, ensure that child welfare is ensured in accordance with Stop Domestic Abuse’s Protection from Abuse Policy.

This role includes the opportunity to be on call out of office hours as this is a 24-hour, 7 day a week service running outside of usual service hours.  The on-call out of hours service may involve the following duties and responsibilities, this is not an exhaustive list and is subject to change to ensure contract and service delivery requirements are met by the organisation and to provide a high-quality service to people affected by domestic abuse. Stop Domestic Abuse is committed to running a 24-hour service to people affected by domestic abuse that is accessible, supportive and welcoming.

About the Assistant Safeguarding Officer Role: 

As our Assistant Safeguarding Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload and giving support and advice to local volunteer managers in responding to concerns or complaints affecting the safety and welfare of young people; for progressing some safeguarding concerns and making the necessary referrals to statutory agencies where required. • Making referrals to statutory or professional agencies in respect of allegations and concerns affecting young people and adult members in Scouting
• Contacting statutory agencies to gain updates and outcomes of their enquiries, to allow Safeguarding Officers to proceed with safeguarding matters and allegations. Share Scouting updates with statutory agencies
• Operating within UK legislation and statutory guidance in relation to young people within Scouts, and adults who hold a Position of Trust
• Providing support and guidance to Scout volunteer managers to enable them to implement a local response to welfare concerns and allegations regarding adults and young people in Scouting, including supporting the suspension process where appropriate

About the role
Save the Children has an ambitious strategy, which requires us to take and manage an appropriate level of risk, often in complex environments, in order to improve the lives of the most marginalised children and communities that we work with. We are a large, complex charity and risk touches every part of the organisation and all aspects of what we do.

This is a new role within our General Counsel's Division and you will work with a wide variety of specialist teams across SCUK (e.g., Safeguarding, Legal, Health & Safety) who investigate incidents reported through SCUK's incident reporting and case management IT system (IRCM system).

You will act as the product owner for the system and will be the main point of contact with the software provider, responsible for ensuring that the system is configured and operating effectively to meet business needs and ensure that we can maximise use of the incident data.

A key objective for this new role will be to develop insightful reports and dashboards that help us analyse and monitor incident data relating to key areas of risk in SCUK's work, for example safeguarding, fraud, and health and safety. The aim will be to develop reporting and analysis that can identify trends and root causes to help us learn from incidents and improve the ways in which we respond to risks.

Key accountabilities will include:

Act as Product owner of SCUK's incident reporting and case management IT system (IRCM system):

• Responsible for the overall management of the system and ensuring that it is configured and operating effectively;
• Collaborate with specialist teams (e.g. Safeguarding, Fraud, Health & Safety) to understand business needs, gathering feedback on issues and functionality requirements, and exploring solutions and improvements;
• Manage the relationships with the ICRM software provider, SCUK technology team, and specialist teams to support the ongoing use of the system and to coordinate system updates and improvements;
• Review how we are utilising the system and the current licensing arrangements and make recommendations to optimise efficiency and cost effectiveness;
• Ensure training and user guides are available for new users and communicate system functionality updates to all users;
• Maintain high standards of data protection compliance in the configuration and use of the system through the completion and maintenance of privacy impact assessments;
• Develop mechanisms to monitor data quality for consistency and accuracy.

Incident analysis and reporting:

• Use appropriate data analytical tools such as Excel and Power BI to enable regular analysis of incident data to detect and monitor trends, including the proactive identification of emerging areas of risk and their causes;
• Develop clear and user-friendly reporting formats, such as dashboards and trend analysis, tailored to different audiences, including the Executive Leadership Team, the Audit and Risk Committee, and specialist teams;
• Convert data into actionable intelligence that enables the organisation to learn from incidents and highlights areas for improvement.
   

Reporting and case management processes:

• Monitor data quality from incident reports and liaise with specialist teams and incident reporters to ensure information is accurate and complete;
• Carry out initial triage of new incident reports, ensuring they are allocated to the correct specialist teams;
• Ensure mechanisms for reporting incidents through the IRCM system continue to meet the needs of incident reporters and specialist teams, as well as the teams managing regulator and donor reporting requirements;
• Track timely progress of cases to closure in line with agreed protocols

Stakeholder communication:

• Develop a communications plan to promote awareness around incident reporting throughout the organisation and relevant external stakeholders
• Manage the incident reporting and case management Sharepoint site and intranet pages, ensuring the provision of helpful and up to date information about incident reporting and investigation processes and procedures
• Act as focal point for promoting awareness of incident reporting as an important part of protecting people and assets, and in doing so contribute to a culture of openness and learning;
• Coordinate regular meetings for system users from specialist teams to share IRCM system knowledge and best practice, discuss common issues, trouble-shoot and monitor case management Key Performance Indicators;
• Assist with the timely completion of incident reports for institutional donors such as FCDO and other relevant external agencies/regulators

About you
You will need to be self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, whilst also enjoying teamwork and able to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal stakeholders across SCUK in order to understand business needs and develop appropriate solutions.

As the key point of contact for system users, providing training and guidance, and managing user access you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will also build awareness around incident reporting processes and responsibilities with staff and volunteers throughout SCUK, helping to ensure that reporting is integrated in all SCUK's programmes.

Clinical Psychologist

Parenting and Creative Therapy Service

Contract: Permanent, 21 hours per week

0.6 WTE, 3 days per week - location: Coram campus, London

Coram Parenting and Creative Therapy Service offers art, music and drama therapy, therapeutic

parenting, clinical psychology and family therapy to children and families at our dedicated creative

therapies centre, in schools, and at home (online). We work primarily with adoptive and connected

carer families, and children who have low level mental health difficulties. We are a trauma-informed

service, and are developing Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) approaches in our work and

have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well

established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy and

narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special

Guardianship Order. We are developing partnerships with universities - Newcastle University and

The Institute of Contemporary Music and Performance and are piloting research based creative

therapy interventions. We work within very diverse communities and we consciously challenge

ourselves and our practice , seeking at all times to be inclusive and anti-racist. We welcome

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to provide therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments

and interventions in our work with adopted and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) families. This

work involves trauma informed approaches, using DDP, narrative, family and life story work. The

team is led by a Clinical Psychologist who will provide supervision for this role. The team provides

creative, relational, and evidence based approaches collaborating with wider networks and reaching

schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post offers a

unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower

children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking

opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support.

The successful candidate will be a clinical psychologist that is skilled and experienced in working with

developmental trauma, and child and family work and operate with initiative and responsiveness in

a dynamic professional environment. A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would

Leading a team of Practice Development Leads, you will be responsible for equipping SHiFT practitioners with the knowledge and skills they need to flourish, and for supporting practitioners, through intensive on the ground practice guidance, to deliver SHiFT’s practice model and achieve exceptional outcomes for children, young people, and families.

You are likely to be someone with significant senior practice experience in the youth criminal justice or adolescent safeguarding systems, with a thorough understanding of its benefits and limitations and detailed knowledge of its agencies, systems, and policies. You will hold extremely high expectations for the children and young people SHiFT works with, and for the quality of engagement and services they receive from relevant professionals and agencies, and this will be reflected in your determination to develop transformational practice. You will have demonstrable experience of getting the best out of people, across varied professional backgrounds, and innovating to create the training and support needed to deliver exceptional outcomes for children and families. It is likely that you will be frustrated by aspects of the current system, with experience of developing new or emerging interventions and the ambiguity inevitably involved in such an ambitious endeavour as this.

SHiFT’s Head of Practice Development will lead the supervisory and direct practice work SHiFT does with children, young people and the people in their lives who matter. This is a critical role for an expert in practice with complex and highly vulnerable young people. The role is an opportunity to take on a system influencing position to shake up the youth criminal justice system.

The role has been designed so that you would directly lead a small central team and be outwardly focussed on supporting SHiFT Guides and SHiFT Practices to work in ways with young people that are aligned with the SHiFT Framework. We do not want you focussed on managing a large team, developing the central organisation, or managing partnerships with local authorities. We want you to be obsessively focussed on consistently excellent practice.

Key Duties

Working with support and direction from SHiFT’s Director of Practice and Learning, your principal responsibilities will be:

• Ensure quality of practice. You will be responsible for the quality of direct work with young people and their families across the SHiFT Practices.
• With a help of a small practice team, you will work very closely with Guides in local areas ensuring that the high expectations for the work are being met consistently and sustainably.
• You will make active use of data on child outcomes, observations of practice and contributions to group supervision sessions to inform your view of quality.
• Where SHiFT Practices have become stuck in their change work with a young person, your team will be on hand to help them find a way through with creativity, tenacity, and high expectations.
• Implement the professional development programme for SHiFT Guides and contribute to its development.
• You will contribute to the delivery of a programme of induction, direct instruction, coaching, mentoring and supervision to grow the capability and resilience of SHiFT Guides across England, holding overall responsibility for the implementation of SHiFT’s professional development offer.
• Implement the SHiFT Framework and contribute to its development. You will be responsible for holding people accountable for working to the SHiFT Framework, ensuring SHiFT’s highest aspirations for practice quality are met, and contributing to the development of the Framework and associated resources and training to support continuous quality assurance, improvement, and learning. Working with your team of Practice Development Leads, you’ll work closely with Guides, Operational Leads, and other members of the national SHiFT team to ensure that the Framework is widely understood and consistently implemented.
• Promote SHiFT practice for wider system change. You will support wider system changes by role modelling SHiFT’s distinctive approach to practice so that we can influence the adoption of our approach. This will include spotlighting examples of excellent practice with young people and being a town-crier of these stories. 
• Work in lockstep with Partnerships Managers.
• Your practice team will work in tandem with Partnerships Managers who scope and develop partnerships and then ensure that the contractual partnership between SHiFT and local partners is working. Where partnership problems arise, they are often closely linked with, or have a knock-on impact to, practice.

Experience, knowledge and skills:

• Substantial expertise in leading, developing and assuring exceptional practice between practitioners and young people caught in highly risky situations and relationships.
• Knowledge of, and/or experience of using, systemic ideas in practice with children and young people would be highly advantageous. 
• Experience of influencing the practice of others through your own direct line management, through supervision, coaching and teaching.
• Detailed knowledge of youth justice and children’s social care agencies, systems, and policies.
• Experience of developing new or emerging intervention programmes that respond effectively to feedback and learning while managing the ambiguity inevitably involved in such an ambitious project as this.
• Skill in holding others to high expectations through high levels of support and challenge.

You’ll build on our existing model to develop and finance a full calendar of training delivery, working alongside the existing team of trainers and station staff to maximise the potential impact on our beneficiaries. Our programme has provided life-changing opportunities to thousands of previous trainees, both within and outside of the media industry, and this role would give you the chance to put your own unique spin on our established and well-loved brand.

Who We Are

Reprezent is a not-for-profit social enterprise and specialist youth development organisation. Our award-winning approach helps young people to realise their full personal potential by providing training and development programmes that enable them to jumpstart their careers and develop a core suite of social, emotional and broadcast skills. We have been a pivotal stepping stone for hundreds of artists and broadcasting presenters aspiring to break into the mainstream over the last two decades, including Stormzy, Munya Chawawa, Jorja Smith and Jamz Supernova, and have helped thousands more young people to meet other personal development goals.

At the helm of our operation is Reprezent Radio, a dynamic youth-led community radio station based in South London. Since 2010 the station’s hallmark has been empowering young voices and championing the narratives of diverse and underrepresented communities, and as a result many of our beneficiaries are those deemed ‘hardest-to-reach’ (young black South Londoners, early school leavers, second generation immigrants).

Our unique training model combines in-person training courses with work experience placements at the station, resulting in a cohesive programme of entry-to-advanced level training provision and an active waiting list of over two thousand people.

Location

This role is a hybrid position, working both from home and with regular attendance required at our office/training space in Peckham and our station headquarters in Brixton.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Executive Team to develop a Sustainable Growth Strategy for our training department. This should contain concrete plans for income generation and beneficiary impact KPIs for the short, medium and long term. This process will involve:

  • Strategic analysis of competitors and market need.

  • Critical evaluation of existing frameworks and assets.

  • Researching available grants and fundraising opportunities.

  • Exploring other revenue opportunities through networks and brand partnerships.

• Once the Sustainable Growth Strategy has been drawn up, management of its implementation and ongoing development. This will include:

  • Writing and developing bids to appropriate funders and corporate partners.

  • Undertaking dynamic reviews of the programme after each major round of delivery, reviewing trainee feedback and outcomes and adapting the provision accordingly.

  • Developing new offerings to meet market need.

  • Overseeing work experience placements within the radio station, ensuring that the progress and wellbeing of beneficiaries is monitored and developed.

  • Optimising the use of available facilities.

• Overseeing the end-to-end delivery of funded projects, from application through to evaluation.

• Line managing the training team.

• Significant experience in strategic planning and programme development.

• A proven track record of writing and delivering large successful fundraising bids.
