Community Engagement Officer
Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a fantastic charity to recruit for the Community Engagement Officer – North of England in order to lead and develop engagement across the North of England. This role focuses on building strong relationships with parishes, schools, and community groups, helping to raise awareness, inspire support, and grow a network of volunteers and donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a programme of engagement with parishes and schools
- Build and maintain relationships with clergy, parish communities, and Catholic organisations
- Support and grow fundraising initiatives, including a major annual appeal
- Recruit, train, and support a network of volunteer parish contacts
- Organise and deliver community events, services, and outreach activities
- Promote awareness through talks, visits, and partnerships across the region
About You
You will be an excellent communicator with experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, or supporter development. You should be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders and able to manage your own workload effectively.
Essential:
- Experience in community engagement or similar roles
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Experience working with community groups, schools, or faith organisations
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Catholic parish structures and communities
- Experience in fundraising or event planning
- Background in volunteer network development
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £35,000 per annum (full time)
- Hours: 24–40 hours per week (flexible, 3–5 days)
- Location: North of England, you must be based in North of England
- Leave: 28 days plus bank holidays (pro rata)
