Learning and development
- Responsible for creating and implementing a programme to identify training and development needs across Stewardship, using assessment and analysis tools.
- Systematically supporting individuals to develop their personal learning plans and help identify learning opportunities to support this.
- Embed competencies and behaviours into job roles to improve recruitment and performance processes.
- Mapping all learning across the organisation to create clear learning pathways and opportunities for progression
- Identify and investigate learning methods, and create recommendations to facilitate training, learning and development for individuals and teams.
- Work proactively with team leaders to prioritise learning & development, designing and creating training programmes which are team or group specific.
- Design and implement innovative ways of encouraging informal learning across Stewardship and creating a framework to ensure this becomes a core part of organisational culture.
- Develop and organise ongoing training for line managers to support them to lead effectively and in line with servant leadership behaviours.
- Create high quality and accessible guidance to ensure all colleagues are accessing a full range of benefits and opportunities to learn, grow and develop while at Stewardship.
- Facilitate and deliver training to staff, with support from other PC&P members or LT. For example, on equality & diversity, or coaching skills etc.
- Monitoring and reporting on learning expenditure, working closely with team leaders to ensure learning targets are being met.
Employee engagement
- Lead on developing our employee listening opportunities:
- Planning, implementation, analysis, presentation and follow up of our regular staff pulse surveys, working with team leaders to implement findings.
- Create a programme of listening at key moments of the employee lifecycle, e.g. returning to work after maternity leave, exit interviews, through probation etc.
- Facilitate and work with other staff to deliver topic-led consultations, gathering insights on specific areas.
- Oversee the exploration and development of an employee forum to strengthen employee voice. Working to develop terms of reference, organise meetings, and facilitate speakers and feedback.
- Evaluate the impact of activities using a range of evidence and metrics to identify insights, trends and patterns.
- Working with the Head of PC&P to identify, implement and roll out any appropriate software to underpin employment engagement and learning.
You will have:
- At least three years experience in a learning and development role, preferably at a management level.
- Experience of leading and implementing learning initiatives within organisations and have a passion to support colleagues to embed learning and grow in their role.
- Good knowledge of learning theories, and experience of applying these within the organisational context.
- Experience of delivering learning initiatives to individuals and groups at all levels of an organisation.
- Experience of establishing a range of employee voice channels, and ability to evaluate findings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to influence and engage a range of stakeholders.
- Commitment to your own personal development and learning.

Purpose of the job
To drive forward Thames21’s ‘Thames Valley’ (broadly Oxfordshire/ Buckinghamshire/ Berkshire) catchment areas programme in line with our 5-year plan and future strategies ensuring appropriate integration across Thames21 and partner organisations. This includes building and sustaining a team to reduce diffuse pollution, increase biodiversity, improve water quality, and support agricultural businesses to deliver environmental improvement works and nature friendly farming practices.
The postholder requires operational experience and knowledge at catchment scale as well as project and people management experience. They will take a strategic overview of the programme and guide our growth in the thematical and geographical area, with a particular focus on the following outcomes.
- Work with 20 farmers each year to reduce diffuse pollution at source and flood risk.
- Offer advice on nature-based solutions and grant funding to farmers and landowners.
- Plant 30,000 trees annually.
- Input and support the achievement of other applicable 5-year plan targets. i.e. River restoration and catchment scale monitoring.
- Increase Thames21 presence in the Thames Valley, identifying opportunities, supporting, and complimenting the work of other NGOs and regional Rivers Trusts.
The role is a relatively new area of work for Thames21 and may consist of supporting a range of projects and programmes including Catchment Partnerships, Farm Clusters and Natural Flood Management.
Finally, the postholder will take a lead in progressing Thames21’s resilience strategy i.e. working closely with the Fundraising Team, the Catchment Partnership Team, and partner organisations to increase private and public investment to deliver healthy resilient rivers and catchments.
Additional requirements may include supporting other Thames21 projects and funding applications, as the need arises.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will oversee and manage the delivery of diverse projects. You will also develop your team’s scope, strategy and action plan in order to grow the team to deliver 5-year plan targets work closely with expert (e.g. statutory bodies, authorities, NGOs and academics) and non-expert (e.g. community groups and volunteers) stakeholders to develop, fund and deliver projects within the catchments, and oversee their management. You will also work closely with the Assistant/ Head of Improving Rivers and other members of the Thames21 team to develop funding applications and steer the direction of the catchment areas.

About the role

Responsibilities

AHF is seeking an England Development Manager (Heritage Revival Fund) to co‑lead our core grants and advisory programme across England. This role has been created following the recent announcement of significant new investment, which will support the expansion of the Heritage Revival Fund through to 2030. This exciting role will lead all our digital marketing channels and activities, with responsibility for delivering high-quality, creative and engaging content to our digital audiences. You will continually analyse and review channel and campaign performance, optimising content and developing activity as necessary.
Our new Digital Marketing Lead needs to be proficient in website management and development, managing social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, with a big emphasis on delivering results through paid media, SEO, SEM, and PPC.

Main responsibilities
- Lead all our digital marketing channels and activities with responsibility for delivering high-quality, creative and engaging content to our digital audiences.
- Communicate Pancreatic Cancer Action’s strategic objectives - and all the activities that underpin them - to UK audiences. These include:
- Raising public awareness and knowledge of pancreatic cancer and its symptoms.
- Education, awareness and training for the medical and healthcare communities.
- Funding research specifically into early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
- Providing high-quality health information and publications.
- Manage, develop and update the Pancreatic Cancer Action website. You will also oversee the ongoing technical management of our website (alongside our external agency).
- You will deliver results through paid media advertising, SEO, SEO, SEM, and PPC.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of a digital and social media strategy.
- You will support Pancreatic Cancer Action’s mission by increasing brand visibility, raising awareness amongst all of our audiences and supporting the generation of income across the UK.

- Be responsible for designing and creating engaging and relevant content for all our channels.
- Monitor the financial spend of agreed areas of responsibility, working within agreed budgets.
Website management
- Manage, develop and update the Pancreatic Cancer Action website.
- Working alongside our external agency, you will oversee the ongoing technical management of our website. Having Django CMS experience would be an advantage.
- You will ensure compliance with best practice and focus on continually improving users’ experience.
- Ensure Pancreatic Cancer Action benefits from integrating our CRM and other software into the website.
- Ensure that content is regularly reviewed and updated, and new content is added to the site regularly (blogs, news etc.).
SEO
- Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and drive website traffic.
- Conduct keyword research, on-page optimisation and technical SEO audits.
- Monitor, analyse and report on SEO performance.
Paid Media
- This is a vital and rapidly growing area for the charity, and this role will manage all paid-for digital marketing, including lead generation and acquisition (Meta, Google, etc.).
- Create advertising campaigns and ensure effective tracking, monitoring, improvements, evaluation, and reporting of campaigns.
- Oversee our Google Ads grant (PPC) and (CRO) Google Tag Manager.
- Manage our main Google Ads account and launch Search, Display, and YouTube advertising for our digital-first Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month campaign.
- Deliver detailed advertising reporting using Looker Studio or other similar digital dashboards.
Digital content
- Manage and maintain the content calendar, including planning and scheduling content that aligns to both Pancreatic Cancer Action and project objectives.
- Create and manage the sourcing of high-quality content for blogs, website pages, social media posts, email content and for all other digital channels.
- Write, edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment to Pancreatic Cancer Action’s Text and Brand Guidelines.
- Create engaging design assets for use across all digital channels, including video and animation.
- Responsibility for pixels and unique identifiers for analytics.
Social media
- Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop a social media strategy and set goals to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- To be responsible for all Pancreatic Cancer Action social media channels, including design and content development, scheduling, optimising, and reporting.
- Work with our Marketing and Communications Executive to manage social media channels on a day-to day-basis, engaging with Pancreatic Cancer Action audiences by responding to comments and queries and being proactive to find out more and nurture relationships.
- Plan social media campaigns in line with other marketing and communications or charity-wide activities.
- Use social media analytics to generate regular reports, using results to inform future day-to-day work and campaigns.
- Spot social media trends and industry best practice, advising on best social media content, tactics, and new technologies.
- Form relationships with key social media influencers to help grow our reach.
Email marketing
- Create and distribute monthly e-newsletters to Pancreatic Cancer Action segmented subscribers.
- Create and distribute email campaigns to segmented audiences.
- Develop email schedules for awareness and acquisition campaigns.
- Create and manage automated email sequences.
- Segment email lists and ensure personalised messaging for targeted audiences.
- Support ongoing CRM project work to ensure we maximise the data held and its ability to drive campaign and activity success.
Working as part of a team
- Be an integral part of the Marketing and Communications team, including a Marketing and Communications Executive, a PR and Communications Lead and the Head of Marketing and Communications.
- Support the Marketing and Communications team and help cover their areas when needed.
- Provide Digital Marketing expertise to the whole PCA team.
Other duties
- Be a brand ambassador, providing advice on the consistent use of Pancreatic Cancer Action’s brand.
- Travel across the UK to attend meetings, events and activities when needed.
- Deputise for the Head of Marketing and Communications when needed.
- Any other duty that the Head of Marketing and Communication considers appropriate.

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000, dependent on experience
