Greater Manchester Youth Federation (GMYF) is a long-established charity running vibrant youth centres across Greater Manchester. Purpose of Role:
The Centre Manager is responsible for the effective leadership and management of Ormside Mill Residential Centre (ORC), including all Health and Safety, estate management, operations and bookings. The postholder will ensure high-quality, inclusive, and safe delivery of youth work activities, aligned with our organisational values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- To support the CEO in the delivery of our mission, in line with our values and ambition.
- Oversee daily operations of Ormside Mill Residential Centre, ensuring high service standards and smooth handover/takeover procedures.
- Line manage staff associated with the centre, such as the grounds keeper, housekeeper and finance assistant.
- Manage and administer all bookings and reservations for the Ormside Mill Residential Centre, maintaining an organised and efficient system.
- Provide onsite ‘take over’ and ‘hand over’ arrangements for groups, including providing oversight of activities with freelance instructors etc.
Safety, Quality and Compliance
- To ensure they have up to date Safeguarding knowledge and to promote GMYF safeguarding culture.
- Responsible for safe, inclusive practice in all areas of ORC work, through supportive line management of key staff, user and contractor briefings and operations. Be responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations including Fire Safety, Legionella, Contractor Management, vehicle maintenance etc.
- Manage and complete documentation for inspections or quality marks such as AHOEC, Evolve, AALA Licence etc. ensuing readiness for audit and compliance, including supporting the Chief Instructor with kit management and storage.
- To be responsible for a detailed estates plan that sets out key compliance requirements and their successful management within a 12-month period and beyond.
Administration and Organisation
- Represent the organisation in external networks and partnerships related to residential and youth work, including building positive relationship with local residents.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to populate the forecast events and resource demand.
- To identify, submit and secure external funding to support our endeavours, via grants or individual benefactors.

About the role
We’re excited to be recruiting a Head of Design and Impact to lead WWF-UK’s work on programme design, impact measurement and learning, ensuring our strategies, programmes and projects deliver meaningful outcomes for people and nature.

We are looking for our next Finance Manager / Senior Financial Controller, someone who shares our compassion for animal welfare and wants to play a central role in stewarding Mayhew’s financial resources for the greatest impact.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will work closely with senior colleagues across Mayhew—including members of the Senior Management Team—to support strong financial direction, responsible stewardship, and effective, mission‑driven decision‑making across the charity.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Working across teams and with external partners, you’ll help build a clear strategy for engaging the finance sector, strengthen WWF-UK’s influence, and ensure we remain at the forefront of developments in sustainable finance.
This is a strategic and analytical role, combining deep financial sector expertise with strong relationship-building skills. You’ll help interpret transition plans, identify opportunities for change and support financial institutions to take meaningful action that benefits people, climate and nature.
Skills and experience
You’ll bring the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:
Essential
• Significant experience and understanding of the finance sector, ideally gained within a financial institution or closely aligned environment.
• Strong expertise in sustainable finance, including climate and or nature-related risks, opportunities and transition planning.
• Knowledge of key frameworks and standards such as Science Based Targets initiative, Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), ICMA Green Bond Principles or similar.
• Excellent analytical capability, including financial analysis or modelling, with the ability to interpret complex transition plans and financial information.
• Experience influencing external stakeholders and building credible relationships across complex systems.
• Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate and understand the wider financial ecosystem.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical insight into clear and compelling messages.
• Ability to work collaboratively within matrixed teams while also operating independently and managing priorities effectively.
• A clear commitment to environmental issues and WWF-UK’s values.
Desirable
• Experience structuring or advising on sustainable debt instruments such as green, transition or sustainability-linked finance.
• Experience working across international contexts or with global stakeholders.
• Understanding of climate and sustainable finance policy relevant to the UK and global finance sector.

This is a UK based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.
This role is hybrid with a minimum 40% of your contracted hours spent at our beautiful UK head office, the Living Planet Centre in Woking, Surrey, where you’ll hot desk among trees and gardens.
