At Versus Arthritis, one of our key strategic goals is to ensure that we are a great place to work and volunteer, and that our people have the skills and resources they need to do the best in their roles. In the Organisational Development team, we have just launched our learning and development framework to align to this goal and create a learning culture for staff and volunteers which is inclusive, flexible and data driven.
Following a learning needs analysis last year, we are excited to be launching several new learning initiatives this year to support our people to do the best in their roles, including diversity and inclusion programmes, mental health awareness and leadership and management skills. The Training Administrator plays a vital part in helping to deliver our goals, ensuring that we have an effective and sustainable learning and development programme.
About the role
The role will be central to coordinating our learning and development journey for staff and volunteers. You will be passionate about creating a learning culture and be the first point of contact for learners, organise online and in-person training workshops, and manage our Learning Management System. You will work closely with the People and Culture teams to build an efficient learning and development service and ensure that learners have access to what they need to engage in our learning and development offer. You will also collate evaluation data and create quarterly reports on our training programmes to share our learnings and successes.
About you
If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, succinct reports and data.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and with excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
- Experience of supporting learning and development programmes and managing Learner Management Systems such as Moodle.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Excel at a basic or intermediate level
- Able to work effectively within a team, supporting multiple stakeholders including staff, volunteers and managers
- A flexible, solutions-focused and creative approach.
*As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings. Spectra are looking for a Senior Trust Fundraiser, focussing on larger trusts, to join a growing fundraising team with exciting plans. You will contribute to raising the income required to continue delivering counselling, advocacy, mentoring, outreach, groups and other support services at Spectra, and work with a team to implement a new fundraising plan. We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-threatening conditions across East and North London. We have a large team of clinical staff who work across community, in-patient and out-patient services delivering individualised, responsive and holistic support to patients and their families/carers.
We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking registered staff nurses to work within our two In-patient wards that have 17 beds each for patients. You’ll have experience of working in end-of-life care within an acute or palliative care setting. We will also consider newly qualified nurses who want to develop a career in palliative care. The successful candidates will be keen team players with good interpersonal and communication skills who enjoy working in a challenging environment whilst displaying a caring attitude at all times.
You will need:
- To be a Registered General Nurse and hold a Intra Venous administration Accreditation
- The ability to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Experience of working in end of life care within an acute or Palliative Care setting.
Continuation of NHS Pension Scheme is available.

About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with an understanding of dementia, and the needs of those affected with these conditions. We are looking for someone who is approachable and knowledgeable to join our knowledgeable and passionate team. Our Dementia Adviser’s support people in their homes we interact face to face, over the telephone and virtually, to give people the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future. As a community-based worker, you will be required to attend a range of meetings, appointments and venues as well as working from home.
You will;
- Be empathetic and non-judgmental in your approach with a commitment to equal opportunity.
- It is desirable that you have knowledge and experience of Adult and Children Safeguarding, Information Governance policies and procedures and statutory laws such as the Mental Capacity Act
- Have good communication skills to meet the diverse needs of our community and represent their needs to statutory and other voluntary agencies.
- Have a sound knowledge of IT systems to record data, write reports and communicate by email.
- Understand client confidentiality and how this is applied when representing client needs.
- Preferably had some experience of working with a wide variety of relevant agencies.
- Have the ability and means able to travel independently around Sefton.

Their education, mental health and social lives suffer. Their futures feel very uncertain. Young Lives vs Cancer is the only charity in the UK with specialist social workers dedicated to providing tailored psychosocial support to children and young people with cancer, and their families. They stop at nothing to make their voices heard and their unique needs understood, so they can get the right care and support at the right time.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Major Gifts Fundraiser to join our team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for securing six-figure major gifts from individuals in a charity environment to meet ambitious targets. Your primary role will be to manage and develop relationships with wealthy and/or influential individuals and senior volunteers, inspiring and motivating them to meet objectives as per their solicitation plans. Additionally, you will manage and inspire the Philanthropy Executive and support them in executing donor cultivation events. This role is all about strengthening the already existing relationships and using already established contacts to tap into new potential donors.
You will be able to write successful, inspiring, emotive, and detailed six-figure proposals, tailored to a major donor audience. Moreover, you will support the creation of a major donor development board or committee and work towards creating a better stewardship journey for supporters. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and can bring their expertise to help us achieve our goals.
About you
You are an experienced Philanthropy Fundraiser with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of securing significant grants, or you should be able to demonstrate transferable skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully soliciting donations and supporting senior volunteers and trustees to do so.
You should be persuasive and credible with all audiences, including those at the highest level, both internally and externally. You should also have the ability to disseminate and present complex information clearly and compellingly.
You should also be able to work effectively under pressure and to prioritise workload. We are looking for someone who is creative in their thinking and who can apply problem-solving techniques when met with complex situations. A team player with strong cross-team working, influencing, and negotiation skills is essential.
