Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and those who care about them. We’re looking for a qualified accountant to join our team and provide operational leadership for the Charity’s Finance function, supporting the Director of Finance & Governance and providing line management for our friendly finance team.
You will be responsible for ensuring The Charity complies with statutory requirements, operates effective controls, provides meaningful insight on financial matters and adapts processes to suit our growing Charity.
You will take a lead on statutory compliance such as audit, tax and Charity Commission submissions. You will work with the Finance Manager to ensure the integrity of finance records and systems, the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts, making of payments to Team Members and suppliers and ad hoc reporting.
You will take a leading role in budget preparations and forecasting.
Who we’re looking for:
A qualified accountant with at least five years’ experience in a similar role from any sector. You will have experience of and be comfortable with filing VAT returns, preparing statutory accounts, dealing with auditors, and managing a small team.

Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.
The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.
Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation. This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

About you:
You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support. The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. Role Summary
As the Director of Research and Public Affairs you lead a team working across the full range of research work (including commissioning, grant-making and in-house research) and public affairs work (including policy analysis, advocacy work and mobilising our activists). Harris Hill is delighted to be working with health charity based in London. They are searching for a Challenge Events Executive in order to coordinate a portfolio of third-party challenge events that drive participation and income.
As a Challenge Events Executive you will:
- be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of all challenge events within your portfolio – delivering marketing plans that drive participant numbers, and stewardship journeys that provide excellent supporter experiences and maximise income.
- Keep abreast of developments in the challenge events market, spotting opportunities and making recommendations on how to grow and diversify the programme.
In order to be successful, you must have experienced :
Experience of challenge events fundraising
Experience of coordinating fundraising events or campaigns
Experience of using a relationship database to support, inform and report on fundraising activity
Excellent communication skills - in writing, face-to-face and over the phone
Salary: £30,000 - £33,500 per annum
Contract type: Permanent
Location: London, 2 days in the office
