A rare opportunity has arisen within the Charity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to assist The Head of Finance in providing a comprehensive financial and admin function. This role will ensure the smooth day to day running of the Purchase Ledger for both Charity and its subsidiary Trading company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Matching and checking invoices against purchase orders/donor enrolment.

Recording all invoices received.

Setting up and maintaining supplier account details, including reconcilliation of Supplier statements.

Other duties will include:

Responding to telephone calls from members of the public, organisations colleagues, other third parties and the charity Trustees.

Use of the charity CRM system – ThankQ (Training given)

Providing support to the management, Trustees and colleagues as required.

To be familiar with other tasks within the team to ensure adequate cover is provided during absence of team members. These tasks may include purchase ordering, taking outgoing post and banking, assisting at/with  event admin. Importing files from third parties. 

To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within your capabilities and the level of responsibility of the position.

Experience in Microsoft excel and office packages.

About the Charity :

The County Air Ambulance Trust has been providing essential funds that help to save lives for over a quarter of century, registered as a charity in 1996, the Trust was originally set up to provide funding and support for air ambulances based in the Midlands.

From its regional beginnings it has become a National Charity and since 2009, following the launch of the HELP Appeal, the charity has been raising much needed funds to provide life-saving helipads where they are needed most. The process of helipad development is ongoing and we are involved in discussions with Major Trauma Centres and key A&E hospitals, where new helipads or upgrades are needed over the next few years. The HELP Appeal is the only charity in the country funding hospital helipads and air ambulance base helipads.

The Role 

An exciting Café Manager position has opened at our Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre, which houses a fully integrated Cancer Rehabilitation Centre, Shop, Donation Centre, Office, and our first-ever Café, named Café Hornbeam. 

We are looking for an experienced Café Manager who will provide excellent customer service, prepare delicious food, and create a warm and welcoming space, inspiring their Deputy Café Manager and team of employees and volunteers to do the same. This role will be accountable for the overall management of the Café, including process and policy adherence and development, and Food Safety. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Uphold and manage café operating procedures and policies, including Food Safety, Allergens, Health and Safety and Trading Standards.

• Manage the product mix, introducing new products where appropriate and maximising profit margins.

• Identify appropriate food and drinks suppliers and build and manage supplier relationships.

• Maintain an up-to-date awareness of developments within the café/food service industry to make or recommend appropriate changes to the delivery of café services and products.

• Ensure the café is presented to the highest standards with attractive merchandising of food and drinks. 

• Effectively manage time to work alongside the team, whilst completing managerial duties.

• Plan and oversee the implementation of new menus, specials, and food and drink related offers.

• Manage the Deputy Café Manager and Café Assistants, including supporting them with their continued development, managing rotas and timesheets, providing training and providing appropriate support when needed. 

• Maximise profitability through driving sales and managing and controlling costs, stock, and margins effectively. 

• Be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal.

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• Proven experience of working in a catering or hospitality role at a similar level. 

• Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certification. 

• Experience in managing staff and/or volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate yourself and others. 

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and nurture talent.

Southmead Hospital Charity is looking for a detail-oriented Database Insight Officer who has experience working with Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM or other relational databases. This role will support the charity as we continue to use data to inform our business planning and will have ongoing responsibility for our database and supporting information flows for teams to improve insight management.

You’ll lead on the delivery of a range of events including runs, triathlons, cycles, treks and overseas challenges, with a focus on growing income and engagement. Your role will also help to drive us forward as the go-to charity for challenge events by providing an excellent supporter experience.

About you 

We’re looking for someone with a real drive and a passion for charity events fundraising. You’ll be delivering your own portfolio of events including recruitment of participants, development of supporter journeys and stewardship communications to meet net income and supporter retention targets.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This role is primarily based in our London or Glasgow office. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

The Christie charity is a vibrant, fast moving, energetic organisation with a passionate team and a fantastic reputation. Everything we do is geared to supporting the renowned Christie hospital to ensure cancer patients recieve the highest level of treatment and care and have access to world leading research and technology ensuring they have the best possible experience and outcomes. We provide funding above and beyond what the NHS is able to provide.

The mass participation team regularly raises just under £2m. We require someone ideally who has experience in this area already or someone with strong transisitional skills. The successful candidate will lead on mass participation events ensuring an excellent level of service is maintained to maximse fundraising income.

The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive gold standard care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.

The Assessment, Advocacy & Advice Lead will provide frontline services to people diagnosed with HIV in Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth as part of the Bridges partnership and South West London and Wandsworth HIV Support project. These services include assessment, emotional support and advice and advocacy for issues such as housing, welfare benefits, debt, dealing with HIV stigma or HIV treatment adherence. The Lead will facilitate signposting and referral into other support services including counselling, peer support and immigration services.

Programme

As part of Bridges programme, South West London HIV Partnership and Wandsworth HIV Support project, these services support new and previously diagnosed service users as well as family members/or carers who live in the same household. The programme will support people living with HIV and improve their health and well-being through the provision of services, delivered both face-to-face and virtually where appropriate.
