We’re looking for a Chief Executive to deliver our ambitious new strategy and to inspire and lead Genetic Alliance UK’s talented and experienced team following a period of significant change. We are an alliance of over 230 charities and support groups whose collaborative aim is to work together to improve the lives of 3.5 million people in the UK affected by rare or genetic conditions. We run 2 long standing projects, Rare Disease UK and SWAN UK (syndromes without a name).
We are looking for candidates with a personal or professional passion for driving improvements in the lives of people affected by rare or genetic conditions, who can bring relevant expertise and diverse perspectives to shape our work.
You will be a credible senior leader who listens and learns from the views of members, supporters and partners, and builds on the high profile and strong reputation of Genetic Alliance UK.

The Prince of Wales Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with a terminal diagnosis, and those around them. The hospice offers a 14-bedroom ward for patients who need round the clock care as well as a Wellbeing service – in total The Prince of Wales Hospice cares for over 300 people a year! Despite costing £12,000 a day to run the hospice and £4m a year, all of the services are entirely free of charge to patients and their families.

The Role
Volunteers support the delivery of the services at The Prince of Wales Hospice, their charity retail shops and fundraising activities. The Volunteer Officer role is an exciting new position, working with approximately 250 volunteers and coordinating volunteer activities. You will play an integral role in designing, delivering and effectively implementing volunteer management processes including promotion, recruitment, induction, training, ongoing support and management of volunteers.
Duties include:
- Actively promoting volunteering opportunities ensuring information is accurate
- Working closely with managers to drive and support volunteer recruitment
- Supervising reception volunteers to deliver a high quality, professional and safe reception service in the Hospice.
The Person
We are looking for a personable and approachable individual, wanting a unique and worthwhile role in volunteer management. As you will be developing new processes and policies, proven experience of working with volunteers is highly desirable. You should be flexible and organised with an ability to work with different teams as well as on your own initiative. With the ability to thrive in a busy environment, you should be able to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines and should have the skills and confidence to speak with and lead small groups.

Salary: £36,029 per annum

You may also find it useful to visit member hospices. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time.
Contractually this role is London-based.
Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week).

Job Information
We’re looking for a creative-loving Marketing Communications person to join our digital content team at Hospice UK. It’s a really exciting chance to jump into a pivotal role here, and facilitate much of the great visual content that we produce as a team.
You’ll be working with some lovely people in the wider Communications and Campaigns team, which is part of an External Affairs directorate. We’re a small, close-knit department but already this year we’ve achieved some truly mighty results – not least, our recent rebrand, new strategy and new visual identity.
As you might imagine, working at a hospice charity brings with it some truly compassionate people. It’s a really lovely place to work because the people make it so. As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’d be part of a team of three, including your line manager (Senior Digital Marketing & Campaign Manager), and Membership Communications Officer.
And yes – as a hospice charity, we do work with death and dying on a daily basis. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Actually, by talking about it, writing about it and sharing stories about it, we’re helping to remove the stigma and taboo that it often comes with. And those stories and communications help give people hope, strength and confidence, sometimes when they need it most.
As Senior Marketing Communications Officer, you’ll be looking after a lot of our more creative, aesthetic products and projects. You might already be working as a Marketing or Digital Marketing Officer or Coordinator, and looking for the next step for your career. Or you could be an established Marcomms professional searching for a new challenge. Maybe you’ve already been in a marketing management position and want to get back to doing what you love!
Either way, you’ll be pretty knowledgeable on how to look after digital channels like social media and websites, and will have some experience of both. You might have some photoshoot management and video projects under your belt too, and ideally you’ll have experience of managing a digital asset management system. The role will also involve some print project knowledge, so it would be really handy if you’ve looked after relationships with designers, printers and know how the process works (and what gsm our new Impact Report should be, for example!)
We don’t expect you to be a brand specialist, but hopefully you’ll have experience of working with an organisation’s brand book, tone of voice and visual identity guidelines. That’s because many people in other teams here will turn to you for guidance on how to use our new brand, which logo or font to use, and requests to source appropriate photography in our house style.
We’re looking to bolster our content and storytelling about compelling hospice care, and we’d love someone to join us with ideas on how to elevate that, and help source and write those stories up for us. Part of your role as Senior Marketing Communications Officer will be to help produce content – stories, videos, photos, resources – to our two major national campaigns: Hospice Care Week, and Dying Matters Awareness Week. Film and Family Stories Coordinator

This role will play a crucial part in helping organise and centralise our family stories and audio-visual content assets – ensuring that our systems are accurate, up to date and easy to navigate.

This is a hugely varied role where you’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the management of ResourceSpace (GOSH Charity’s family content library).
- Ensuring family stories are up to date, undertaking any interviews to get updates on family stories where necessary, and contacting families when their consent is soon to lapse to see if they are happy to continue sharing their story with the charity.
- Managing, transferring, uploading and logging film footage and assets.
- Curating GOSH Charity’s YouTube channel and taking responsibility for uploading content.
- Managing shoot administration and logistics including travel and hotels if required, and liaising with freelancers and third parties about footage and shoots as required
- Managing logs for all family content.
- Maintaining camera kit inventory, ensure that equipment is maintained and kept ready for shoots.
- Transcribing audio and video interviews.
Skills you’ll need:
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Strong administration skills.
- A keen interest in content creation.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

About the Team
The Committed Giving Team is a high achieving team responsible for the acquisition and retention of regular donors. The team work across 3 key areas; Non-dialogue Acquisition, Direct Dialogue Acquisition (Face to Face channels), Stewardship,. The team work closely together with the shared aim of delivering exceptional supporter experience and raising the reliable income the hospital needs to help provide extraordinary care for seriously ill children and their families.
About You
You will be a creative, self-motivated, and organised project manager with experience of working within a diverse, target-driven team. With a keen eye for detail and able to manage multiple projects at once, you will have a direct marketing background, ideally within the charity sector.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Highly organised and able to work autonomously with little supervision
- Experience of regular giving programmes (ideally both cash direct debit and weekly lottery products)
- Experience in writing campaign briefs (creative, data)
- An analytical and inquisitive mind, with a keen eye for detail
- Exceptional project management skills and excellent time management
- The ability to build and manage great relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A passion for exceptional donor experience

- Support improvement projects as needed, such as improvements to funding schemes, funding operations or business systems.

No one should feel alone when diagnosed with primary bone cancer. The Bone Cancer Research Trust strives to provide a supportive network for all primary bone cancer patients to limit their feelings of isolation and anxiety. Given the rarity of the disease, patients can often go through their entire treatment and recovery without meeting another patient, so external support is vital.
Over the last 4 years, our Support & Information Service has seen significant growth, and developed to become a leading source of support for patients, family members, siblings and friends of patients. Our Support & Information team provide enduring support and ensure that this can be accessed at any point in a primary bone cancer journey and by anyone affected.
Our aim is to increase the reach of the service further, ensuring that all patients diagnosed in the UK have the opportunity to access our Support & Information Service. The Support & Information Officer will play a pivatol role in achieving this through building lasting relationships with both patients and families and healthcare professionals.
They will assist in all aspects of the Bone Cancer Research Trust's Support & Information Service, including the organisation and delivery of virtual support groups, the administration of the Charity's financial grants, the distribution of information resources and the administration of our digital groups. They will also have the opportunity to lead on the delivery of our regional in-person ‘Get-Togethers’, which bring the primary bone cancer community together to gain peer to peer support.The successful candidate will also play an important role in the continuous development of the Service, ensuring that impact is measured and feedback is acted upon.

Stories and Media Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced storyteller to show the impact of live music in healthcare through the voices of the charity’s diverse community. This could be people who have experienced the live music, their family members, health and care staff, musicians or other stakeholders.
The Stories and Media Officer will be skilled at telling stories in different ways for a variety of audiences and channels. They will demonstrate human connection and the power of music to create special moments and memories.

The Role
You will build trust with people the charity is sharing a story on behalf of and foster lasting relationships. You will manage media contacts, seeking out relevant opportunities in the press and work with partners on features.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead on storytelling - writing effective and powerful stories to meet the needs of different functions, including fundraising materials, direct marketing, social media, sector reports and events, press opportunities, website features and publications.
- Attend live music experiences to conduct interviews and facilitate photography/filming etc
- Proactively identify and propose opportunities where stories can support and amplify the work of the charity, increasing awareness and supporting fundraising and impact reporting.

MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon. We have been the leading INGO responding to the current crisis in Gaza and are looking to increase our capacity to meet the urgent needs.
We are seeking an experienced MEAL Manager to support the development of our programmes. The successful candidate will be fluent in Arabic and English, with significant experience in MEAL processes and systems. They will have experience in providing MEAL training and designing primary data collection tools.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and maintaining MAP’s MEAL systems - 50%

Work with the UK Director of Programmes to develop MAP’s online MEAL database. Support the testing of the new system and its roll out to MAP staff and partners.

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Officer to support our Marketing Lead in the delivery of all elements of marketing communications to meet the needs and objectives of internal clients in the Hospice. Working alongside our solutions architect, you’ll be responsible for the development and management of our data import processes by managing and onboarding new data feeds through our bespoke ETL tool, the Message Broker. You’ll be focused on developing and translating business reasoning into data transformation. You’ll act as a key conduit between teams – ensuring new functionality is rolled out effectively to become business as usual. Find the best ways of importing and validating customer data, so we can build long term relationships with our customers and keep them coming back for more. You’ll get involved at the briefing stage and see it through to delivery of data, championing security, governance, quality and accuracy at every step along the way.
This is role is currently seconded to the Technology Directorate, working on the delivery of the charity’s key IT systems such as the current migration from Raisers Edge 7 to Raisers Edge NXT CRM.
