An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to lead our Finance team to ensure the ongoing effective management of financial resources within the Hospice and its trading subsidiary.
As part of the senior management team, you will build strong internal relationships, provide management information to enable sound financial decisions, manage the budgeting and forecasting process and oversee a complex payroll.
Working with the Director of Finance and IT you will prepare the monthly management accounts, VAT returns, Gift Aid reclaims and the statutory accounts and will ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place and all legislative and statutory requirements are met.
You will be a qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience; charity experience would be desirable. In addition, you will have strong demonstrable management skills gained in a similar complex environment.
An excellent working knowledge of payroll and VAT is essential, along with strong Microsoft Office skills.

We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy. Reporting to the Community Fundraising and Events Manager, you will support the team in generating vital income through professional community stewardship in a role where no two days are the same!
You will support the local community, our supporters and volunteers, nurturing relationships and working with key partners and stakeholders to maximise income generation opportunities, attending community organised events. To be successful, you will be a flexible team player, with some previous fundraising experience, ideally within a community setting. About Us
The Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) VCSE Alliance launched in January 2024. It aims to influence and facilitate greater collaboration between the regional health system (BNSSG Integrated Care System) and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE). It seeks to do this by enhancing the role of the VCSE sector in the delivery and transformation of wellbeing and health, and cementing our sector’s role as a key strategic partner in the planning, design and delivery of health and care, in its widest possible definition.
The co-design of a new ‘VCSE Brokerage Framework’ with colleagues from the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and System (ICS) is a key priority for the VCSE Alliance in 2024-25. The aim of the Brokerage Framework is to provide a clear, fair, inclusive and proportionate way for health and social care system partners to reach a diverse range of VCSE organisations. The intention is for it to be a new process by which grants and opportunities can be distributed to the sector.
This is a really exciting time to join the Alliance and deliver a new innovative process which has the potential to be transformative for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
The Role
The VCSE Brokerage Manager’s role is to lead on the further development, piloting, and preparation for launch of the Brokerage Framework. The role will work closely with colleagues across the VCSE Alliance and the health and social care system. Ensuring that diverse VCSE organisations, from micro to large scale and that serve communities of interest, of place and of practice are included and enabled in the brokerage framework will be crucial to the success of this role.

They will have a broad understanding of the food (or associated) sector (and preferably experience working in the sector). Ideally, the individual will already have experience managing or running a charity, and so will have a practical understanding of charity governance best practice.
With multiple activities from publishing through to professional recognition and from scientific and technical events and communication through to supporting the next generation of talent, the Institute is looking for a leader who can work creatively and yet in a focussed way to ensure all these activities are progressed.
Ideally, they will have previously worked for a professional membership body and are likely to have experience in the food sector.

We are just embarking on building a New Hospice, launching a capital appeal whilst also delivering a very busy community fundraising calendar. The successful candidate will:
- Have experience managing a small team to deliver results.
- Have experience in community fundraising management, managing budgets and targets.

- Have a flexible approach to working hours as the role involves some evening and weekend working and be prepared to travel across the PT catchment area to maximise fundraiser support.

Purpose of the job/About the role
Join Dementia UK as a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Support Officer and have the opportunity to work with a team who have a shared focus of collaborating and improving the lives of families living with dementia through the learning experience of Admiral Nurses.
Collaborating closely with our Academy Coordinator and team members, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the Admiral Nurse Academy’s learning management system, Blackboard, to ensure it offers Admiral Nurses high quality learning opportunities. You will design and build online learning courses and modules, from an initial structure/outline, to the detailed storyboarding of content (supplied by Academy Team), activities and assessments. You’ll harness various digital tools and applications like Articulate, Vyond, and Padlet to craft captivating content. Ensuring that the learning design for all online programmes is focused on helping Admiral Nurses to achieve course learning outcomes and meet their personal learning goals.
The preferred candidate will have high-level knowledge of learning management systems and the digital tools used in online learning. You will have experience of working or studying in online education or training, being able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. You will be able to work in a deadline driven production environment and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously working with internal and external stakeholders.
