Location: Remote working with travel to Together Trust locations in Greater Manchester and surrounding area and attending some meetings throughout England where necessary.

Leading on Policy and Campaign development of the charity’s policy, your role will be to put forward evidence-based policy recommendations and campaigns and working with the people we support to influence change ensuring that the voice of the people we support is heard and acted on by key decision makers. 

Acting as the spokesperson for the Together Trust and the people it supports on policy issues you will be responsible for the following:

• Managing and developing the Together Trust’s policy and campaigns strategy in line with the Trust’s strategic long-term plan.
• Leading on the development of policy priorities with staff and the people we support. Working with them to develop a Theory of Change for the Together Trust. Working directly with the Trust Directors, Trustees and external agencies.
• Representing the Together Trust at meetings with MPs, Councillors, parliamentary groups, select committees to help drive forward Together Trust’s policy and campaigns work.
• Improving the Together Trust’s visibility in UK Parliament by attending sessions, submitting evidence and nurturing networks.
• Reporting on policy, campaigns and participation activities to the Supporting People sub-group, providing updates on activity and progress against key milestones.
• This role has line management responsibilities.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• An undergraduate degree qualification (Level 6 or equivalent), preferably in a relevant discipline with a good understanding of the UK political environment, local and national government structures and decision-making.
• Line management experience supporting team members to achieve their KPIs.
• Experience of using different campaign tactics including recruitment actions and support journeys.
• Experience of speaking at events or representing an organisation in a professional setting.

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Partnerships role makes a vital contribution to our objective to bring about transformative change for children. The key focus of this role is to secure income generation from Trusts, Foundations and Institutional Funders. The team is set to raise over £3.2 million in 2024 and has ambitions to grow this further in future years.

As Senior Manager, Partnerships you will identify, cultivate, secure and steward major gifts from existing and prospective donors who can support Lumos, usually at the five or six figure level. In your role you will build and foster positive relationships with grant-making organisations and institutions (bi-laterals and multilaterals), providing excellent stewardship and account management and drafting compelling and comprehensive proposals and reports.

You will work with colleagues and stakeholders in the Fundraising and Engagement Team as well as across our global organisation, including the Executive Leadership Team, Programmes Team, Country Teams and our Board of Trustees to effectively cultivate prospective partners, support existing partnerships and prioritise and progress opportunities.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Income generation:

• Pro-actively research and cultivate relationships with donors, especially Trusts, Foundations and Institutional Donors.

• Work with the Head of Partnerships, Director of Programmes, Chief Executive, Country Teams as well as existing supporters to maximise their networks and introduce new partnerships to Lumos.

Relationship management and stewardship:

• Provide exceptional relationship management and execute tailored cultivation and stewardship plans for prospective and existing donors. • Develop high quality communications for donors, including proposals, reports and stewardship materials.

• From time to time, represent Lumos at events and meetings to grow our network of supporters and contacts.

• Work collaboratively to strategically manage and maximise funding opportunities.

• Work with Fundraising and Programmes colleagues, via regular structured communication, to identify synergies between organisational priorities and funding opportunities and trends, and to develop funding propositions, detailed financial information and reports.

• Use the Salesforce database to maintain accurate records of opportunities, income, donor communication and interactions and to monitor prospecting activity and progress towards KPIs.

Other responsibilities:

• Keep abreast of fundraising trends and challenges, and the legal and regulatory environment.

• Manage, monitor and report on income against targets and contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to ELT and Trustees.

• Contribute towards annual planning and strategy development with the wider team.

Governance Manager

Starting Salary: £43,461 - £46,819 (inc London weighting) – This is the full-time salary, and the salary will be pro rate based on the hours of the post.

CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

• Ensuring CAFOD’s work is in line with Charity Commission requirements and ethical standards are maintained.

 Engagement & Reporting  

• With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team. 

• Ensure that all aspects of the Leadership Team and Board meetings are organised and conducted effectively in line with CAFOD’s governance principles. 

• Providing strategic guidance and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team 

• Developing a plan for the production of CAFOD’s Annual Trustees Report, and project manage its delivery.

• Assist with the external communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors and supporters.

Team Leadership  

• Providing management/mentoring to the Leadership & Governance Assistant where applicable.

• Working with the Leadership & Governance Officer in planning a governance work programme for 2025. 

• Provide guidance and oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget. 

• Overseeing the recruitment and induction of trustees to CAFOD’s Board.

Responsibilities

A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), who is a strong multi-tasker, you will have a proven track record of leading a team and working in partnership with colleagues.  This senior role will be responsible for finance and risk for MRJ and LJ, as well as providing accounts, budgets, overseeing audits for 3 other related charities, with an overall combined turnover of £10m.

Using your wealth of experience, excellent financial analysis and management expertise, you be responsible for the timely delivery of management and financial accounts together with the identification and mitigation of risk. You will be both hands-on and will oversee the finance department. 

You will be a key member of the senior team working to bring MRJ and LJ together, responsible for ensuring a smooth and seamless financial transition.  Working closely with colleagues and lay leaders, you will develop and implement key strategies within your area for the newly formed organisation.

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a self-advocacy charity run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative and user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include Professional Services (training, consultancy & research), Champions who speak up and campaign, Travel Buddy scheme, 15 local self-help groups, and Gig Buddies.

The role

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a self-advocacy charity run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative and user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include Professional Services (training, consultancy & research), Champions who speak up and campaign, Travel Buddy scheme, 15 local self-help groups, and Gig Buddies.

MLMC is now looking for a part-time Finance and Administration Officer.  The successful applicant will manage MLMC’s day-to-day finances providing financial information to the Charity Coordinator and other staff as needed. Additional duties include administration/governance support to the Charity Coordinator and to manage the day to day running of the office (this does not involve any people management). This role calls for an individual with accounts and/or book keeping experience, the ability to run an end to end payroll using a computerised system including HMRC and year end reporting, and excellent administration skills. It is crucial that you will be able to communicate politely, professionally, effectively and clearly with all stakeholders (e.g. fellow staff, customers etc.).

Role Description

We are looking for a senior leader, with extensive experience in education project and/or programme management, who can lead a fast-growing team within a mission-driven organisation. You will be a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, in particular working closely with the interim CEO, the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Impact and the charity’s Senior Programmes Leaders. You will have direct exposure to the Board of Trustees and the unique opportunity to fundamentally shape the organisation and its direction.

The Chief Programmes Officer will be responsible for all aspects of programme delivery, including providing strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the programmes delivery team, business development and stakeholder management with new partners in further education, and reviewing and improving delivery across all our programmes. You will work closely with the Director of Impact to refine and implement our approach to programme quality and impact to ensure we are providing the most effective programmes for the students we support. You will play a leadership role in the overall direction of the charity and work with the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Impact to ensure that the systems, processes, and ways of working for the Programmes Team are in place to ensure effective programme delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

• Working closely with the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Impact to provide overall leadership for the organisation, deliver the organisation’s new five-year strategy, and embed its values.
• Regularly updating the board on programme delivery and developments through participation in full Board and subcommittee meetings.
• Deputising for the CEO as needed, internally or externally, representing Get Further in public forums, with senior stakeholders, and with external organisations.

Business development and sales:

• Planning, leading and engaging in sales activity to ensure Get Further meets its goals for growth in terms of college partnerships and student numbers and secures new partnerships in key regions and areas for expansion.
• Line managing Senior Programmes Leaders, supporting their development and the delivery of KPIs with regards to college sales and renewals.
• Working closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Officer to ensure a joined-up and impactful approach to sales and marketing, including through conference attendance and participation, social media, webinars.

Programme delivery:

• Strategic leadership of the Programmes Team (currently a team of 10 full-time staff), including ensuring that the team has the culture, working environment and professional development opportunities to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver high quality programmes and to meet our delivery KPIs.
• Overseeing efficient delivery of every aspect of each programme cycle, from liaising with the Chief Operations Officer to set and ensure achievement of targets for recruiting and training tutors, to leading the team to deliver on tuition logistics (including clear and timely student, tutor and college communications), and reporting on our impact to our partners in further education, ensuring programmes are high-quality and impactful for students and partners.
• Identifying and rolling out developments to programme delivery that help to improve our ways of working at scale, to enable the team to deliver now and in the future.

Programme quality and impact:

• Working closely with Get Further’s Director of Impact and the wider Impact Team to develop and deliver our processes for monitoring and evaluating the impact of our programmes, including communicating our results with existing and potential partners in further education to support the charity to meet its wider objectives.
• Ensuring Get Further’s approach to curriculum, assessment and tutor training continue to develop and improve with insights from our impact data, including line management of our Maths and English Curriculum Managers.
• Holding the relationship with Get Further’s subject advisory groups.

External relationships:

• Building relationships and our brand across the further education, charity and policy sectors.
• Leading on the delivery of a FE Advisory Group that provides advice and guidance to the charity to ensure programme delivery continues to move from strength to strength.
• Supporting with fundraising and advocacy as needed.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

• A deep interest and commitment to Get Further’s mission, including the drive to expand our work and the ability to articulate and pitch our programmes authentically.
• An excellent track record of sales within the education sector (minimum two years’ experience of directly selling programmes within education) and skilled in designing and delivering business development plans and/or marketing strategies.
• Extensive experience in leading and improving programme delivery, including the ability to galvanise colleagues to reach annual KPIs.
• Organisational and project management skills, to plan and make strategic decisions to prioritise and optimise time and budget.

Livingstone Tanzania Trust (LTT) was set up in 2007. Our vision is to live in a world where every young person has access to a quality education.  Our mission is to work in partnership with communities in Tanzania to address the barriers that prevent young people from accessing the quality education they need to reach their full educational potential. To achieve this, we focus on infrastructure and resource programmes, developing teachers’ competencies and addressing issues surrounding household poverty.

In addition, as a charity, we aim to support our partners in Tanzania to reduce their dependence on us, which we achieve by building their skills to stand on their own feet. This requires us to share our knowledge and provide mentoring services as our partners grow

Working with a team of three LTT employees, as well as Trustees and supporters the key objectives of the Partnerships team is to:

1. Support our ambitious vision: a quality, inclusive education for every child in Tanzania.
2. Plan; manage; deliver; monitor and maintain oversight of LTT’s Trust and Foundation fundraising portfolio, activities and opportunities. Target is to raise in excess of £300,000 per annum from UK and International Trusts, Foundations, other Institutional Donors and individuals in 2025-6 and increase by £40,000 a year thereafter. 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

This position will focus on sourcing and developing potential national and international funders who provide single and multi-year grants in excess of £10,000 including those who do not accept unsolicited grants.

Duties include:

• Develop and manage opportunity pipelines of prospective funders, planning introductions.
• Write compelling, concise, well-presented, tailored approaches and grant applications in Word and Canva.
• Liaise with the Operations team, to gather the relevant information for grant applications (e.g. data, case studies, imagery etc).
• Ensure systems are kept up to date with all details of grant application documents, progress and outcomes and any other interactions with funders.
• Work with partners in Tanzania to offer them support and guidance 
• Draft programme reports for projects for which you have raised funds.
• Contribute with other team members to the organisational budgeting process, by producing a detailed breakdown of opportunities and likelihood of success.
• Contribute to production of key external documents which may impact Trust and Foundation fundraising e.g. Annual Report & Accounts, Impact Report.
• Attend team meetings at least twice a year
• Attend relevant third-party events/training as required.
• Attend and assist with some LTT fundraising events.
• Other related duties as required.

Key Requirements

• Knowledgeable and passionate about International Development/Education
• Understanding and respectful of cultural differences.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a grant fundraising role, with a successful track record of regularly securing 4 and 5 figure grants.
• Knowledge of funding databases and other sources of potential funders.
• Ability to absorb, collate and organise large amounts of information from different sources/channels.
• Ability to select and distil programme information to develop a core message for target funders, aligned to their specific interests.
• Persuasive writing skills – weaving powerful stories with clear evidence of programme impacts.
• Strong IT literacy and adept in making funding applications online.
• Experience of developing fundraising budgets.
• Excellent organisational/planning skills.

About this role

This new role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is an exciting opportunity to join our team who have been supporting adults with learning disabilities for almost 40 years. As we look to the future, we need to consider new opportunities to build partnerships and collaborations to build a strong, resilient network of third-sector organisations in Swindon and the surrounding area.

Main responsibilities

• Work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and members to develop and deliver against a Strategic Business Plan.

• To act as the lead relationship manager with partners on behalf of The Open Door Centre.

• Take responsibility for diversifying fundraising, grants and income streams in line with the strategy and business development plan, be proactive in developing new leads and connections.
• Explore and develop joint grant bids by liaising with external partners to support grant applications that align with our strategic aims.
• Develop, monitor and maintain key systems and processes, such as effective funder reporting and review meetings, and monitoring and reporting on fundraising KPIs.

Skills, competencies and experience

1. Skills and experience in third sector fundraising, preferably including corporate fundraising, funder reporting and grants and confidence in identifying and developing new opportunities.
2. A demonstrable proactive approach to engaging with new and existing funders to set up and develop lasting relationships.
3. Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals/grant applications and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact.
4. A skilled communicator (verbal and written) who can gather information and enthuse individuals both internally and externally.
5. The ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
6. Excellent organisational skills with firm understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and risk mitigation plans.

8. IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet and social media.

Other information

This post will be a hybrid role with some time spent in the Centre in Gorse Hill, Swindon, some remote work, and attendance at meetings and events in the Swindon area - this could include evenings and weekends.

The National House Project (NHP) takes a ground-breaking approach through its commitment to young people’s ownership to enable young people leaving care to live connected and fulfilling lives. The approach was co-designed with young people from the start. It is based on a groupwork approach and supports young people to move into properties that become their homes whilst also building a strong and supportive friendship network.

NHP supports Local Authorities to establish Local House Projects (LHPs) and puts young people at the centre of the decision-making processes, supports staff to work with them in an inclusive way and encourages staff to work with young people to find the solutions to the challenges they face. LHPs achieve improved outcomes for young people, challenge the way that professionals work with young people and enable young people to leave care in a planned and supported way.

To ensure that young people are involved at every level of the organisation each LHP elects 2 young people to represent them at the Care Leavers National Movement (CLNM). This forum provides the platform to hear, amplify and act on the voice of young people, who not only support the development of their own LHP but also contribute to developing practice and policy at a national level. CLNM meet regularly, undertake Peer Evaluations, host and deliver their own National Conference and provide an ‘expert user’ consultancy.  Members from this group also sit on the Board of Trustees as expert advisors.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and experienced in working with young people in care to join this national charity.  You will work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core NHP team to ensure that young people continue to drive our work at both a local and national level.

You will need to have a professional/academic qualification in a related field e.g., Youth Work, Social Work, Education, Health. Current registration with a professional body is desirable. We actively encourage applications from those who are care experienced and will guarantee an interview if the essential criteria are met.

The NHP office is in Crewe. We support hybrid working and currently spend a minimum of two days in the office.  In this role you will be expected to travel to LHPs and attend meetings across the country on a regular basis. The role:

This key role in the Trust’s staff team will be reporting to the Head of Finance & Resources.
