The Role 
 
As our Communications Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of communications that contribute to increased brand awareness of the charity, demonstrate the charity’s expertise and impact, educate the public about cancer prevention, signs, symptoms and screening and support the generation of income for the charity. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Plan, research, create and distribute creative media content, including press releases, blog posts, case studies and videos, to support research, services, cancer insight, fundraising, events, retail, corporate partnerships and campaigns. 

• Proactively seek, identify and engage in media opportunities, such as attending events, organising photo opportunities and meeting face-to-face with case studies.

• Manage third-party suppliers such as photographers and film production agencies, obtaining quotes, providing clear briefings and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.

• Respond to press enquiries efficiently and to a high standard. Understand which media enquiries are appropriate for the charity’s brand and key messages and those which are not, so that the charity prioritises only those which are value-adding. 

• Organise TV, radio and press interview opportunities for the Chief Executive, Directors and Heads of. Prepare clear briefings for interviewees. 

• Demonstrate and convey professionalism at all times and represent the charity when communicating with the media, members of the public, volunteers and supporters to demonstrate the charity’s core values.

• Monitor and evaluate the charity’s media coverage and the digital impact of PR content, providing a monthly media clippings report. 

• Provide PR input to the charity’s Leadership Team, Board reports and performance dashboards. 

• Maintain continuous awareness of industry news and regularly update colleagues on key developments. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to a degree or equivalent level of education or have relevant experience in a similar role at a similar level. 

• Previous media experience, whether through journalism or a PR / in house media assistant role. 

• Experience in building relationships with colleagues and journalists and managing media opportunities such as interviews, broadcast opportunities and photocalls. 

• An ability to write compelling copy for multiple audiences, and media channels, often translating complicated information into a format that is easily understood by readers. 

• An agile media mind, able to spot the key storyline that will maximise the possibility of media coverage and attract the attention of the media. 

• An evaluative mindset, supporting continual improvement by analysing coverage and associated data from media activity. 

• An ability to keep a calm head when faced with a reactive media situation in a manner that best protects the reputation of the charity 

• A thoughtful and empathetic outlook, able to engage with people affected by cancer with sensitivity and respect.

About the role

In this role you’ll contribute to the operational delivery of innovative health partnerships for BHF. These partnerships help us to reach, on a mass scale, people at risk or living with heart and circulatory diseases; working with large corporate organisations, other charities, and community groups to provide information, support and skills in innovative ways to improve health awareness, support self-management and reduce health inequalities.

As part of the Health Partnerships team, you’ll support several health partners, delivering agreed activity and maximising the opportunity to reach their workforce and customers with our free health initiatives.

You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across BHF particularly in our Medical and Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement teams, as well as external partners to meet agreed aims and objectives. You’ll also work closely with other delivery teams (e.g. Clinical Support, Health Content, Community Resuscitation and Customer Service Teams) to create an integrated and seamless customer experience for your partners.

Obtaining a comprehensive knowledge of our health offerings during your induction, you’ll develop a warm and productive relationship with your key accounts and ensure the delivery of activity is fulfilled effectively and efficiently and that your partners needs and opportunities for growth are appropriately identified so that they receive the best possible experience from the BHF. 

Working arrangements

Please note this is an 18 month fixed term contract.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

The role of the Senior Digital Marketing Executive is to ensure we provide a great supporter experience to any person, company or organisation who donates to the Epilepsy Society and to help the fundraising and marketing teams increase our number of supporters and fundraisers through digital acquisition.

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. PSPA supports families affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), both are complex neurological conditions that affect mobility, vision, swallowing and cognition.

We are looking for someone to join our helpline team to provide professional, comprehensive support and make a real difference to people living with PSP, CBD, their families, and carers. 

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.

Main Responsibilities

You will be the first point of contact for people fundraising in their community for Diabetes UK, from doing a skydive to organising a bake sale. You will ensure they receive an excellent experience from the charity and support them to raise as much as they can and become life-long supporters.

You will also provide administrative support to the wider Community Fundraising team and build effective working relationships to do so in a professional, timely and effective way.

Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in providing excellent customer experience, within a charity or another sector. You’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering internal communications and driving engagement across the charity. This will include planning, writing and publishing communications that will inform, engage and inspire our colleagues across all areas of our work.

Using your skills in communications, organisation, and planning, you’ll work with the Internal Communications & Engagement team and colleagues across the charity to provide internal audiences with what they need to be able to be informed and updated. This will help them to deliver in their roles to support the Parkinson’s community and deliver on our strategy.

• Write, edit and distribute the weekly all colleague newsletter 
• Create content for, and be responsible for maintaining, our internal channels, including our staff intranet.
• Write and edit internal articles and copy
• Monitor and manage our internal engagement mailbox, service desk, and planners.
• Be responsible for the coordination and distribution of our manager bulletins.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of delivering effective internal communications that drive participation and engagement.

Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care, respite and dedicated support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions across Wales. About the role

Are you an enthusiastic and proactive person who is passionate about delivering first-class supporter care and could join Tŷ Hafan’s income generation team as a Major Giving Fundraising Officer?

This is a very exciting time to join the team at Tŷ Hafan. We have just launched our Big Ambition that when a child’s life will be short no family should have to live it alone.

This is a huge ambition that will need us to grow the money we raise significantly over the next 5 years. Major Giving is a crucial income stream for Tŷ Hafan and as Major Giving Fundraising Officer, you will be integral to supporting income growth.

In the role, you will support the Head of Fundraising and Director of Income Generation to develop and deliver the major giving programme and will support the management of major donors and potential major donors, making sure that they receive the best possible experience as a Tŷ Hafan supporter.

You’ll coordinate major donor plans, support the organisation of key events, prepare and deliver tailored communications and personally manage some donor relationships.

If you have experience of building relationships with and managing supporters, as well as experience of managing projects and events within agreed timescales and budgets, and have excellent communication and organisational skills, we would love to here from you.

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in Hertfordshire.

Position: S11156 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Hertfordshire, however frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £26,700 per annum

Contract: Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2025.

The Role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach in the East of England, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers to adjust to life after stroke following hospital discharge into the community.

· Providing personalised information, advice and support.

· Enabling stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

· Working with other health and social care professionals across the stroke pathway to ensure high quality support.

About You

You will have experience in:

· Experience/ background of providing person centred support to people with a disability or long-term health condition and their carers.

· Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records.

· An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association.

· A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.
