The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised, self-motivated and confident individual to join our Work Related Learning Team as a Senior Programme Officer. This role is a development opportunity, and we are seeking someone who is willing to assist with administration tasks as well as develop their skills in coordinating and delivering programmes in schools and businesses. About the role
The Senior Case Worker will work as part of the SPOT Navigator team based alongside the Southwark SPOT Street Outreach team. The aim is to support a known cohort of clients who are stuck within the cycles of homeless and ill-health and have not been able to sustain a stable life outside of this.
This will be achieved through strength-based assessment, using creative engagement techniques and co-producing action plans aimed at linking clients with services and community groups. Your work will improve health outcomes for clients and promote harm reduction by working alongside specialist partner agencies. You will be working with clients on the streets in an outreach capacity or in various types of accommodation.
In this role you will:
- Work in partnership with local authorities, accommodation services, statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure that clients transition away from the streets and into the appropriate accommodation with the correct support in place.
- Manage a caseload of clients experiencing multiple disadvantage who may not have stayed in stable accommodation for long periods of time.
- Have a great opportunity to assist people to change their lives meaningfully for the better.
In this non-shift role, you will work mainly within normal office hours Monday – Friday, however, on occasion you may be asked to work flexibly and conduct early or late shifts starting at 6am or ending at 3am. For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

You will provide the vital administrative, data entry and reporting and reception support the service needs to run smoothly. As well as GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent), you have experience of data entry, manipulation and reporting. We’ll also be looking for a background in an admin role where you dealt with people from a wide range of backgrounds, both over the phone and face-to-face. There is a requirement in the role to generate, print and record prescriptions. Familiar with all aspects of electronic communication such as email, diaries and the intranet, you have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Windows files and folders too. What’s more, you have lots of initiative, are great at multi-tasking, work well within a team and under direction from others.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post-holder to work 37 hours per week.

The coordinator roles are vital components of this project. We want to attract candidates from the South West of England with sound local knowledge and able to travel in the region - these will be important parts of this job.
Purpose of the roles:
- To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within the South West.
- Recruit, training and coordinate volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups.
- Research areas in needs of support and book venues where information sessions will be delivered by volunteers.
- Be able to travel to events in order to support volunteers and ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.
Hours of employment are:
0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
8 months fixed term contract. Core hours are Monday to Friday 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both individuals and large groups confidently and clearly.
- Leadership and Inspiration: Excel at motivating, involving, and inspiring stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Research and Information Gathering: Skilled in conducting thorough research and use information to support event delivery and volunteering.

- Collaborative Teamwork: Experience working effectively within a geographically dispersed team, maintaining communication and alignment across different locations.
A full, clean UK driving license use of a car and availability to attend the events if required. You will need to be able to drive around Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

- Volunteer Management: Proven experience in recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers, ensuring their effective contribution to project goals.
- Event Planning and Execution: Experience in planning, organizing, and delivering successful events, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Country Committees help to shape the strategic direction of The National Lottery Community Fund with a focus on the four missions: supporting communities to connect, supporting environmentally sustainable communities, enabling children and young people to thrive, and enabling people to live healthier lives.The primary role for Committee members is to use their knowledge and strategic thinking to help provide the direction for The National Lottery Community Fund, make decisions on large funding applications and be an ambassador for the Fund.
This is an exciting time of significant renewal at the Fund following the launch of our new strategy, ‘It starts with community’, setting a new direction to 2030. We are committed to helping children and young people to thrive by ensuring they are part of decisions that affect them and their communities. Youth leadership: Understanding of the needs of young people and experience of representing the voices of young people in a leadership/ Governance role

Country context: Interest in your country’s political, social and cultural landscape and the role of the voluntary and community sector in it

Communication skills: confidence in verbal, written and listening skills in situations where prioritising and sometimes challenge will be required

Relationship management: Ability to nurture, develop and promote effective relationships and communication with committee members, senior leaders and community organisations with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion

Representing the Fund: Experience of representing an organisation or something similar and willingness to represent the Fund at public events with a commitment to the principles of holding a public post

Equity Diversity and Inclusion: Understanding and commitment to achieving equity, diversity and inclusion and its advancement in the context of a public body and a funder

Governance: Awareness of the importance of governance frameworks in line with The National Lottery Community Funds strategy and public responsibility
Important Information
Agreement: This is a non-executive role requiring a time commitment of around 2 days per month (although this may vary from month to month) and is for a term of two years.
Salary: The role is remunerated at a rate of £5,232 per annum, following completion of the compulsory Young Trustee Movement 6mth Board Boost Programme which starts November 2024. Please see further details in pack. [This £3000 training is paid for by The National Lottery Community Fund]
